Peter's POV
I was trying my best to keep up with Aurora, that was her name. I meant to just go to her one class and find out her name, well really I was just going to my own class and lucked out when I saw her in the doorway giving me that supposed to be mean look that looks so good on her. She looks so beautiful, tall, and curvy, she was just so soft looking, everything about her, her lips and cheeks and...she just stood out. After the first class that I had with her I thought let's see what class she has next, then one more class, but when Mr. Schollson had thrown me out effectively causing Aurora to know that I had not been in all of her classes.Well actually I hadn't been in any of her classes except the 1st one. It looks like she was going the same direction as my next class.
Hey where is Aurora? I just had my eyes on her but where was she? As I rounded the corner my shirt was grabbed and I was caught off guard my back slammed into the lockers on the wall, the wind knocked out of me. I grabbed the attackers hand about to fight off whoever dared grab me, everyone at this school should know better by now, I have important things to do, like following Aurora to her next class and making sure no one messed with her, yeah that's what I had been doing like a new kid welcome wagon, totally not like stalking her or anything. I finally looked at my aslant, shock I was in utter shock, it was Aurora, she had hidden and waited for me, and in my distracted state totally caught me off my game.
"Why are you following me?" Aurora pushed her hand harder into my chest. Her eyes were even more brilliant up close like pieces of amber it made me feel a bit dizzy or maybe my head had bounced off the lockers . "Well, do you have an answer?"
Still dumbfounded I really didn't have an answer, I just kind of stared at her.
"Here" She said, relseing my shirt and slamming a piece of paper in my hand. She turned and started off down the hall. "And don't follow me this time." She yelled down the hallway. Great now everyone in the hall was looking at her and wouldn't you know it at me too. I raised my hands and puffed out my chest to the nosy onlookers, so what I got slammed by a girl, a really tough girl, a really pretty girl, maybe I need to rethink the whole protection excuse.
I straighted my back and looked down to my hand and unrumpled the piece of paper. It read:
1st Room 218 555-9087
2nd Room 320
3rd Room 220
4th Room 421
5th Room 503
6th Shop
7th Agg.
8th Free
How embracing she had just written out her whole schedule so I had no excuse to follow her around, well except to protect her, which I think I might not need to do now. But it also had her number, she must be somewhat interested in me, she gave me her number. I had to get to class, then as I glancing back down at the paper, oh crap pretty sure my next class actually is with Aurora. Maybe she won't notice me if I sneaks in.
RING
Great the tardy bell.

Aurora's POV
I went to my next class, Ella has this class too, it's nice to see someone familiar. We both walk to the teacher's desk at the back of the class and put our arms out with our new student form.
"Oh my, there's two of you." Said the shy small statured teacher, I towered over her at 5'10" I am used to being taller than most other females but this woman was so small and petite, she couldn't be more than 5'0". Even Ella who was 5'6" loomed over her.
"I, um take a seat where you would like, I guess" she seemed so unsure of everything, "oh and I am Mrs. Brown, welcome." Mrs. Brown gestured to the room as she spoke, and her voice was just as small as she looked, why she would want to teach high school kids she looks like she would be more at home with kindergarteners.
"Thank you." Ella and I said in unison and looked for two seats as close together as possible.
Nothing was right next to each other so I sat down two seats and one row over from where Ella sat down. She always did better in new situations and looked like she just belonged. She was even talking to a boy and flirting, had she met him in another class or was meeting new people just that easy for her. The boy had inky black hair, funny almost a complete oppisite to Ella with her bright blond hair that always reminds me of sunshine, also what was up with boys at this school, I was starting to think the students weren't staring at Ethan at all when we arrived maybe they were staring at us girls because it seemed this school had no shortage of muscled hunky boys. While Ella seemed content, I looked more closely at the students around me, I guess I really hadn't done that yet. I had been preoccupied with thought of Peter.
Ella and I did kinda stand out with her sunshine blond hair and my bright purple streaks, I could practically feel the other students mentally yelling "YOU DON'T BELONG HERE" at me, but I glanced at Ella again and she seemed to not feel the tension one bit maybe I'm over exaggerating.
Mrs. Brown was closing the door to start class when it was violently pushed open almost knocking poor small Mrs. Brown over. Really I couldn't believe my eyes that boy Peter; I almost stood to give him a piece of her mind about following me when Mrs. Brown spoke up.
"Nice of you to join us Peter, I do believe this is your 5th tarty in this class this month... go sit down." The disgust coming from her voice, Mrs. Brown had sounded so timid when speaking to us but when she spoke to Peter her voice was almost menacing, why the change? Peter said nothing to her no apologies, and really he acted as if he didn't even hear her. He headed toward me, crap crap crap, I wanted to make Ella switch seats with me just then but she hadn't even noticed anything going on, too busy talking to that inky haired boy. I look around and there is a seat on the other side of me opposite from Ella there is an open seat. So Peter sits in that open seat, he stretches his legs out making sure to kick me in the back of the foot. As I turned back he just winks at me, great. 's arm practically dragging her to lunch.
"Hey what's wrong?" Ella asked following even though she was a little pouty about it.
"That boy." I said slyly pointing out Peter. "He followed me like all day; I have to get away from him."
"Ohhh, somebody has a crush." Ella teased musically
"Shut, up." I said punching Ella playfully in the arm.
Ella and I scanned the cafeteria for Lola and Ethan it shouldn't be that hard to find them, Lola has bubble gum pink hair right now and from what I'v seen no one else has such a dramatic style. Come on where are they?
Peter's POV
Matt and I walked to our usual table. Matt kept going on and on about the new girl. I clinched my fist, Matt better not be talking about Aurora, she's my new girl. Wait, what mine, no no.
"Have you seen her," Matt asks pulling me out of my thoughts, "She has the most beautiful blond hair and."
"Wait, did you say blond hair." I exhaled a breath that I hadn't realized I had been holding.
"Yeah, why was there another new girl?"
"Yes." I practically yelled "She was in our last class, we saw them in the office this morning, she has purple streaks in her hair."
"Oh, I hadn't noticed. I asked the new girl Ella to sit with me at lunch, I wonder if she'll come?" Matt said sitting down at our usual table. Matt was scanning the room looking for that blond girl,Ella.
"Hi." a girl I'm assuming is Ella said smiling all eyes on Matt, she was just the very essence of sweetness charm. What amazed me even more was the joy on Matt's face, when she had walked up and spoken. Matt often is solom and moody very EMO but this girl brought a brightness to him, it was nice to see.
"Oh yeah, can my brother and cousins eat with us too?" She asked, but even before an answer could be given. "Over here." She yelled out waving her arms in the air and was signaling, Aurora,a muscled boy and another girl, that looked a little younger but also pretty with light pink hair, what was with her and there hair it's like they don't want to get lost in a crowd or are they trying to outdo each other. The girl with the pinknhair was probably Aurora's sister, the same nose, face shape, and eye shape but with aqua eyes were as Aurora had eyes that t
looked like pieces of amber, but this girl also looked somehow more care free and cheerful than Aroura.
I looked at Aurora automaticly, its hard to even put the feeling I get from her, she looks so strong, she is like an amazon queen, tall muscled but not too muscled; she was so curvy her hips must be why they call it an hour glass shape, I think I need to stop, I think I might be staring. As I looked up to her amber eyes to try to find a hint of excitement in them, I found a scowl, it's that same scowl that I find way more sexy than scary, and that look was aimed right at me, I liked that she was looking at me, but I am was pretty sure that look was not meant to be as sexy as I think that look is. As the group walked to the table Aurora took a seat as far away from me as possible. I didn't mind, too much, I could see her better this way. The tall muscled boy sat himself in-between Ella and Matt, he's a good brother I thought to myself if my sister went to school with us that's how I would act too.
Introduction were made, Lola has the pink hair and is indeed Aurora's little sister. The big guy is Ethan he seems ok and is Ella's twin brother, he looks like he could fit right in with our group. The girls on the other hand all have very over the top styles, from their cloths to their hair, and are all quite beautiful they stick out at this school.
The banter between everyone was light and nice and a bit flirty, well as flirty as possible with a giant brother/ cousin body guard. Then plans were being made for the weekend. "How about after school today, we could go to..."
"No." Aurora and Ethan practically yelled in unison.
"We have things we need to do today." As Ella start to shake her head Aurora added, "Remember Uncle Ryan needs our help with that stuff." She nodded signaling acceptance. On that note Aurora looked at everyone and stood "see you guys later" than she turned and walked away. I wanted to stand and follow so badly for so many reasons, number one on the list, being at this table was kinda making me feel uncomfortable, and I really wanted to know what plans she had for after school. But I knew I couldn't abandon Matt not with a protective brother looming.

Aurora's POV
As the bell rang on my seventh period class I breathed a sigh of relief, this day took forever. It is always hard on the first day but meeting Peter, well we didn't actually meet, he was just there, it made me feel so uncomfortable. I hate the way my family so easily and so comfortably is around all the new people, seamless as if we had always been here. Not me I liked to keep my distance from anyone new, and all at the same time I desperately wanted to know more about Peter, I liked the way he looked at me, boys don't look at me that way. It was probably some new kid trick, I'll keep my distance. I know better than to get attached to anyone, my family moves too much and what we do and who we are is too dangerous to get anyone else involved.
I have a free period now and can only wait for the rest of my family, they all have a class this period, but, I'm going crazy just sitting here. I'm going to take the car; I'll make it back after school. Right now I just need to blow off some steam. I went straight home; it was only like a 10 minuet drive so it only took like 3 minutes with the way I like to drive.
This house is in the mountains really the whole city is in the mountains. This new spread had 15 acres, plenty of room for training without interruption. I rushed inside and changed into my workout clothes, a pair of capi sweats a sports bra and an old cut up tour t shirt. I grabbed my knives and a gun a little target practice couldn't hurt either. Really we have been in town for a few months but we had to set up the property first, you know, unpacking, building a garage, remodeling some rooms, protection spells, prisons, a garden those kind of things. As I came out the door so ready and determined I saw him. Peter leaning against my car.
"What do you want?" I spat at him. God the main reason for coming home was to get my mind off him.
"I wanted to talk to you." Peter said stepping closer to me. That is it, so much anger poured off me at that moment. Who did this guy think he is, why does he think he can just follow me around all day at school and then follow me to my house and lean agenst my car, well ok it is the families car but still. I propelled myself in to action pushing my feet from the ground and flying at Peter. Peter moved quickly out of the way. "So we are going to get to know each other like that then." Peter said smugly while simataniusly dogging several more blows.
I couldn't even talk my rage so consuming, his smug smile and chuckles made it that much worse. My hands went flying left, left right, connect, connect, connect. He wasn't even fighting back, he has the biggest grin across his face, then he ever so swiftly reached out grabbed my wrist and twisted my arm behind me pulling my body into the line of his. He shouldn't be able to best me, I train daily and I have more strength than a normal human all of us keepers do. I tried to push away with my free hand he held me steady grabbing that hand and also pushing it behind my back so now he was hugging me, our bodies even closer than before. Peter then leaned into me his chest against mine and just a breath away.
"Isn't this so nice." He whispered, so full of confidence, then I saw it, something I hadn't noticed earlier, or maybe something you would only notice close up, but his eyes flexed with white pulsing behind the green ocean, making his eyes seem like a whirlpool, I knew what this was, I'm not just some dumb girl, I am not oblivious, and this boy was not just a regular boy. No wonder he fought so well. But unlike most angles or demons I couldn't tell what he was, that made me even more nervous. What was he? Angel or Devil? Was he here to trick me, does he know who and what I am?
"Why are you here?" I asked more emotionally than I had intended, and finally I managed escaping his grasp. That's much better I thought, while at the same time I felt cold and my soul screamed for me to get closer again, while my brain applauded me for staying away.
"I have wanted to talk to you all day, and this seemed like such a good time to do it," he said pausing, "you know away from others." Others what did he mean his friends her family, but the way he said it and glanced around like something was going to jump out and get him. What was he looking for? Was this an ambush, now I was on high alert too.
"So talk, can't you see I'm busy." Really how could I get my mind off this boy if he was right here in front of me, and now I'm goining to have to think about him even more to try to figure him out.
"I do see that, so can I stay and work out with you, I want you to spend some time with me, I think you might like it." All smiles and smugness Peter seemed, this so felt like a trap
"I don't really do that." I said trying to stay stern
"Don't really do what, like things?" Peter thought he was funny I could tell "Just till after school, come on." Even though I wanted to protest more, but as I thought about it I did need to find out about him, so really it makes sense to keep him around just for a bit.
"Fine, try to keep up." I said, even though I knew now that he defiantly could, then I ran to the training course Uncle Ryan had us make, you know, more of those homey touches. Peter kept up step for step jump for jump, but that wasn't a surprise he was something else, I still can't tell what, it's strange I am the one who can sense the difference, angels or demons, I see the true self they try to hide. That's my part on the team someone or should I say something like Peter really makes me dought my abilatys, that has to be why I let him stay.I just have to know. All of a sudden I saw my uncle's truck pull up. I sprinted to the drive way forgetting in the moment that Peter was still in tow.
"Uncle Ryan what are you doing home so early, I was just getting ready to go get everyone from school, I have a free period right now." As I was talking I could see my Uncle Ryan's face change as he saw Peter.
"You do that." He said very to the point "and you boy you can leave, Aurora does not have time for someone like you." The way he said it could he see that Peter was something (tell me what it is please). "Go boy, I don't know how you got here but you can leave the same way."
How he got here? He had driven of course, but now looking around I saw no car, or motorcycle, or even a bike, and now that I thought about it Peter had just been leaning on my car. Had he walked? No it was too far for him to have gotten to her house in such a short time.
"And you," Uncle Ryan began just as I was trying to get into my car. Disappointment filled Uncle Ryan's eyes. "You don't have time for boys, or whatever he is, I'm surprised you invited him here you know better."
"You didn't see what he was, and I didn't invite him" I didn't know who I was upset with, Uncle Ryan for thinking I would invite some boy over, myself for letting said boy stay, or I really knew it's Peter for following me. He has to know that we are keepers and he wants something, well he's not going to get it.
"What do you mean was he an angle or demon?" really it only mattered because we could then know who to ask about him, angles, demons there are ones that follow rules and ones that don't. I'm willing to bet Peter isn't a rule follower.
"I couldn't tell" I said almost ashamed in my lack of ability
"It's OK I couldn't either, and that's worrisome, but he will be walking, or running. Do NOT pick him up and give him a ride back to school, we need to find out more, and I mean me NOT you."
"OK" I said feeling so stupid I know what he could be capable of, had even questioned why he had followed me, I should know better, no one is that into someone like me, like ever, idiot. He knows we are keepers and that I can open the gate he's done his homework and is using me. No boy that looks like that would be into a girl like me.
As I headed back to school I saw him, Peter walking down the road. "Don't pick him up" I told myself out loud, and to my surprise I listened. I drove right by and barley glanced in the rear view mirror like 10 times. Job well done, I silently told myself.
When I pulled up school must have already been let out because the parking lot looked almost empty. There they were my family sitting on the stairs in the front of the school waiting for me to return, that big silver horse statue behind them. Stupid and generic I have seen at least 5 just like it in my high school life, why can't schools be more original, instead of horses or tigers or eagles why can't we be mighty ants, or howling dogs, not wolfs there are tons of those too.
"And where have you been?" Lola asked impatiens getting the better of her, and pulling me from my original high school mascot thoughts.
"It couldn't have been that long." I told her, she made a wide armed gester to the area indicating the lack of vehicals and other students.
"Please we have been waiting like over 30 minutes.Huh guys?" She looked to the twins for some reasherance but got none, they both had their phones out doing something texting, tweeting, facebooking, snapchat, who knows. I have a phone we all do but my contacts consist of these three here, my Uncle Ryan, a few other gate keepers, and a small few angels and demons that are well known allies, I just never got into my phone, Ella say I am "Like from the 80's." I guess there are worse thing to be told. Like "that boy" thinks you're an idiot, which is what Uncle Ryan practically said today.
"Come on, Uncle Ryan is already home, and we have a meeting tonight." I announced and ushered my family into the car.
