"Where is your ring, Isaiah?" The man of the community asked. Isa took a deep breath. He looked at his empty ring finger. His eyelashes blink feverishly thinking about what to say now. He cast a glance at Augustus who stood unaffected, unfazed.
'Give me my ring back, will you?' his eyes screamed with resentment.
Augustine's hands held back, watching him nonchalantly.
'Why is he testing my patience? Why isn't he giving it to me? Ah, such a thief!"
Isa slowly turned to face the man.
"I-uh" he had to think quickly. "I removed it and kept it in my hut"
The community man looked surprised. "Why did you remove it?"
"It was bothering my finger measurement," Isa said. The community man looked convinced. "Alright, you can give the ring to the jeweler tomorrow dawn. They will repair it."
