Chapter 56 - Rules

A new rule? What kind of sick rule is it this time?

I stared in the air as I waited for the new rule to show up.

Ping!

[The new rules for the [Transmigrators] that will take place three months after the gates of hell opens]

1.) [Transmigrators] will have to kill at least ten monsters in a month. However, [Transmigrators] are not allowed to kill two in two days. Unable to do so will result into [Game over].

2.) Inability to kill a monster will not be a reason to be exempted to the previous rule.

3.) Dealing the 'final blow' to the monster is counted as a kill.

4.) Any form of indirect killing will not be counted as a kill.

5.) The usage of poison will not be included of killing monsters. One can kill as many monsters as they want as long as they die due to poison.

6.) If a [Transmigrator] dies, a chain reaction will commence where all other surviving [Transmigrators] die as well

What the hell is this?!

I took deep breaths in order to calm myself down. Since it might vanish anytime, I quickly memorize the rules while doing so.

The first rule means that it will take at least twenty days to meet the monthly agenda of killing ten monsters since we can't kill monsters twice within two days. It is also a rule that will bind the other [Transmigrators] to come to the front of the war to survive.

Naturally, this is an easy way to make sure that everyone participates in this shitty event.

The second one is mainly for health and social conditions. If I were to have a coma or were to be imprisoned for more than ten days without killing a single monster is the same thing as the death sentence.

The third rule signifies that getting help is okay as long as we are the ones who get the kill.

"...."

The fourth is a bit vague. Its somehow related to rule five but at the same not.

Since rule five indicates that the usage of poison won't fill the monthly agenda of killing twenty monsters, it also won't affect for indirectly killing monsters.

Perhaps... is this rule about Almas? Almas and I have a contract which states that I am his 'master', which means that everything he owns, I own.

If that is the case, I guess they are trying to balance out everything. If Almas can go kill monsters for me, that would be the same as taking the easy route while the others are busy risking their lives in the front.

The same thing goes for Valerie.

Valerie who is possessing one of the three characters I created has the ability to control the mind.

Though it sound powerful, it actually isn't. The usefulness of this ability lies in the resourcefulness of the bearer. She can only control those who are mentally weak, meaning those who are in a good condition will be impossible to control.

Not to mention, whenever she take control of someone, she can't move from her initial position which will make her vulnerable. While it is almost effortless to control a mentally weakened person, it is also hard for her since anything the puppet feels, she will also feel half of it.

If the person was burned to death, then she will feel half the pain that the puppet experienced.

Rule five is pretty simple. It basically means that we can use poison for self defense.

What irritates me right now is rule six. If any of us dies, all of us will die too.

What kind of rule is that? That is as if this thing is telling us to work together.

But because of all these rules, my theory has been proven correct. That there is another one, just like us, in Chejada.

Whoever it was, they must have thought that killing the first prince of Vanifi would mean that they would retreat.

I can tell that whoever did it was good and knowledgeable, it was kind of stupid as well. If prince Diego died from overdose, Empress Lucia would have taken charge and massacred everyone.

Meanwhile, if prince Diego didn't die but his personality changed and became a madman, the empress would kill him and still massacred everyone in Chejada.

So far, the [Transmigrators] are all those who had an influence in the story. Meaning, one way or another, everyone here should have red the story or the characters at least.

Which is why I can't figure out why would anyone try to do that to prince Diego. But that isn't really important now.

Once the rules activates, I can die anytime. That is what matters most right now. The top priority.

I can rest assure that Andrin and Valerie won't do anything stupid but, I don't think the others that I don't know of would be the same.

After sorting my thoughts, I started writing what happened ever since I came to this world, a sort of diary. Since I don't know when I will die, I might as well leave something behind.

...

The carriages that was prepared over night was ready first thing in the morning.

"My lady! Be safe!"

"Make sure to bring some booze my lady!"

Everyone was saying their heartfelt goodbyes for me as we go on to our destination.

"My lady"

"What is it, Emmanuel?"

"Has your trust for me gone up for you to assign me as your personal guard?"

"Something like that"

"I am honored my lady!"

Five days later, we arrived at the one of the ten biggest alcohol producing city in the continent which was named after the founder, Kruger city.

Since both the viscount and the viscount's nephew died due to their stupidity, the Kruger's have already made a new viscount based on the succession line.

The carriage stop. The door opened and a sweet smell in the air instantly mesmerized my sense of smell.

"I, Viscount Kruger welcomes baroness Emond to our estate"

Huh? A toddler?
