The Akashic records in the novel
It is a book with exactly a thousand pages that contains everything that happened in the Vanifi empire.
Each page contains the summary of each generation or a ruler's time. Only the heir to the throne know the existence of the book as it also contain secrets of old that can be used against the imperial family itself.
And the cause of her mother's death, the previous empress, is written in that very book.
The book itself is inexplicably indestructible. Not to mention, only those who possess the blood of the royal imperial family can write down on the book.
Empress Lucia's happy and excited look became a monstrous one.
An absurd amount of blood lust to the point that even I can feel it.
The pressure itself is enough to make it hard for me to breathe.
While the dungeon under the imperial palace is known by a select few, only the imperial family knows about the existence of the Akashic records.
"Whew"
The tension in the air vanish all of a sudden. It was as if it never happened.
"How do you know- no, the only thing I can think of how you could possibly know about this could be either of the two: First is where you have a special ability that allows you to know the events of the past and the future or second where you already know the events that will take place as if someone told you a story of this world"
With so little clue, she was able to deduce that into the possible answer?!
Now I know why my friend Jessica would always brag about the genius of the century, Lucia Arte Vanifi.
While there are more possible and more realistic methods how I knew of the existence of the Akashic records, she thought up all the flaws of the realistic ones and switch into the unrealistic method but not impossible ones. And in an instant at that.
She took a sip from her cup as if to calm herself down.
"Lady Dianna Emond, I accept the game you propose. So please tell me who are the two people you want me to find"
The captain of the imperial knights gave me a pen and a paper. I started writing down their names and also a sketch of their faces as well as any unique physical trait.
"The first one is at the Fellide empire and the other one is at the kingdom of Mheodure. Why do you want me to find them?"
"For personal reasons"
"....."
"Is something wrong, your majesty?"
"How about we do this instead, Lady Emond. You tell me where the book is right now and I promise you that I will support you to the best of my abilities whenever you want"
"That is quite the generous offer, your majesty. Why are you being favorable to me?"
"That is because you are a very unique individual. You have the wisdom and wits that I have never seen before. And that strange ability you have to pull in other people as well, I suppose. Torturing the answer out of you would be a waste of a genius like you"
"So you want to form a strong bond as early as possible?"
"Yes"
"...I accept"
So far, she was exactly how she was portrayed in the novel. Meaning that her vow to uphold all of her words would also be true.
After chatting for some more I went back to my very own palace and enjoyed the books from the imperial library.
...
"My lady"
"Yes, Sir John?"
"How did you found out about the third floor dungeon under the imperial palace?"
Wow, he sure is straightforward. Then again, it would be weird if he wasn't curious especially since he is the one who manages everything that happens within that place, including anyone and anything that goes in and out.
"Don't worry, there are no traitors among your place. Its just that I am good at what I do"
Looks like her majesty have already informed John about what I said earlier.
"Still, my lady, I am curious about something?"
"And that is?"
"Are you perhaps used to seeing people covered in blood?"
That question... is ambiguous.
The straightforward Jonathan in the novel used this method only once when he was doubting whether to kill the heroine or not, but he ended up helping her escape instead.
"Yes I do. But that does not mean I like doing so. Unfortunately we have different taste"
"Does that mean-"
Bang.
Why do people keep on opening the door so violently?
"My lady, high priest Margaret is here to see you"
High priest Margaret?
Oh I remember now, she is the backstabbing two-faced b*tch in the novel.
The villains in the story is Dianna Emond and Dereck Deltan. However, while the heroine was in the empire the villains were the second prince, prince Henry Arte Vanifi and high priest Margaret Browne.
I entered the drawing room with John to make sure that I have a witness about the events that will happen inside the drawing room.
"Lady Emond, I am high priest Margaret Browne and I was sent by the temple to ask you a few question. Will that be alright?"
"Of course"
We sat down. I answered all of her questions one by one.
"I am done asking questions my lady but I do have one last question out of curiosity. Will that be alright?"
"Of course. Answering one more question won't hurt anyone"
The high priest grinned.
"Okay, here is my question: What do you feel about being parted with your lover, lady Emond?"
She is practically using the same question in the novel. I almost pity her that she doesn't have any creativity.
"Nothing"
"Nothing?"
"Yes, nothing. Because I know that we will meet again. Being parted like this is only normal. What's more, a challenge on relationships is a challenge created by God to further strengthen the bonds of couples, no?"
"....I, I understand"
"High priest Margaret"
"Yes?"
"What does it feel like to abandon your family to reach the point where you are currently at?"
