Chapter 5 - The Natural Enemy of the Snakes

The Crimson Serpent was a 2-star Ferocious Beast, and its most frightening nature was its venom.

The adventurers were not willing to provoke this kind of poisonous creature either. After all, other than the crystal nucleus, the only valuable stuff would be its fangs.

This serpent seemed to be replete from eating. It arched the middle part of its body, sleeping under the sun. This was just the time for it to relax.

The Iron-armored Black Lizard crawled forward until it was only 15 feet away from the Crimson Serpent.

"Go!" Andrew lied on a reverse slope, commanding it.

Receiving the order, the lizard immediately leaped forward.

As a 2-star ferocious beast, the Crimson Serpent also reacted instantly. Its body sprang up as it immediately raised its head and stared at the lizard.

Roar!

The lizard let out a low roar, making the serpent freeze on the spot.

The next second, the serpent suddenly turned around and started to run away, seeming to be very afraid of the lizard.

Seeing it, Andrew had his guess confirmed.

As expected, the lizard's skill of the natural enemy of snakes had taken effect!

However, the Crimson Serpent could only move by inches because it had eaten much food. As a result, the lizard caught up with it and bit it soon.

The serpent's ferocity was triggered as it was in pain. It turned its head and bit the lizard on the neck.

For a moment, the two beasts were in a deadlock. Neither of them could attack the other further as they both bit each other.

However, they were in totally different states. The lizard did not seem to be affected by the venom as it kept biting. On the other hand, the serpent could not help but tremble as its body had already turned black. The lizard's venom acquired from the spider began to take effect.

In less than a minute, the serpent's body was already on the verge of collapse. It looked at the lizard in front with confusion.

Usually, the prey would definitely be poisoned to death in less than three seconds as long as it was bitten. But this time, why wasn't the enemy affected and was even more energetic?

Out of the serpent's knowledge, the rival in front of it was not an ordinary one.

Finally, the aura of death spread as its head turned black too. The Crimson Serpent's large body fell down.

The lizard skillfully took out the crystal nucleus from its body and came to Andrew's side, wagging its tail for a reward as if it retrieved the stone that its master had just thrown out.

Yet, its face covered in blood, and its body that was as tall as a man, coupled with its fawning action, showed no adorability at all. It looked even more menacing than a ferocious beast.

Andrew did not mind. He took the crystal nucleus from its mouth and put it into his beast space. Then, he patted its big head to show his appreciation.

The lizard wagged its tail, bouncing happily.

A contracted beast is 100% loyal to its master, except for some exceptional beasts.

Then Andrew started to clean up. He took off the poisonous fangs from the serpent's mouth and its gall, which could be exchanged for money at the Adventurer's Association.

The lizard also helped with the "clean up". It had eaten half of the body of the serpent weighing over three hundred pounds until it burped and couldn't eat anymore.

Then, Andrew and the lizard went away, leaving the carcass of the serpent to nature.

Half an hour later, Amy and her companions arrived.

"Amy, according to the intelligence, there is a Crimson Serpent around here. It fits perfectly ... " The old man stopped halfway when he saw the remaining carcass of the serpent.

The others in the team were also confused.

"Ahem!" The old man coughed to cover up his embarrassment. He suppressed his urge to curse and went forward to investigate.

The other two people in the team also came forward and said, "Andy, looks like it was eaten by its natural enemy?"

"Yeah, it's probably done by some natural enemy of the snakes such as Stormhawk."

However, the old man didn't seem to hear what they said. His brows furrowed deep. In the end, he let out a long sigh of relief and said, "this serpent wasn't destroyed by a ferocious beast, but by the same beast that attacked the Purple-spotted Spider just now!"

"Moreover, this mystery beast is very poisonous. Even a poisonous creature like the Crimson Serpent can't withstand its poison!"

As soon as he said that, everyone in the team turned pale with fright. "What?! It's still the work of that beast? It's so catastrophic! What kind of beast could it be?"

"Could it be that this person is also targeting poisonous creatures like us?" Amy asked, looking at the carcass of the serpent on the ground. "Uncle Andy, can we ask this Beast Tamer for help?" she asked again.

The old man called Andy thought for a moment, then nodded.

He understood what Amy meant. Since they came to find the poisonous beasts to test the poison resistance of the Holy Unicorn, and the Beast that was being controlled was even more poisonous, why not use it to do the test?

"What you said is feasible. A Beast that can be controlled is definitely much better than a savage ferocious beast."

"Now, let's find this maverick Beast Tamer. I don't think he would reject your request."
