Chapter 21 - A hunch

"So we're going east to find the Fire Fairy?" Iris asked while looking at Morgan, the man just mumbled in the affirmative, his hands moving to put the wood into the fire, making it bigger.

The fire in front of them grew bigger, making sounds of wood being eaten.

Thomas sat next to Morgan, his mouth chewing on the apple he got from Iris, his eyes still on the fire dancing in front of him.

"Yes. I have business there too."

Morgan took the partially charred fish, he glanced at Iris, who had an innocent face.

"What business?" Thomas looked up, looking straight at Morgan, who was looking back at him with annoyance, while Iris looked indifferent to both of them.

"Adult business," said Morgan curtly, he was still a little annoyed with Thomas being too clingy with Iris, so he forced Thomas to get close to him.

Thomas snorted, leaning against the rock behind him, straightening his legs.

Iris smiled, she didn't know that Morgan and Thomas would get along so quickly. She thought these two men would have a cold war with each other in front of her.

"What happened to your pack?" Thomas asked again as if Morgan's gloomy look was nothing to him, he tugged at Morgan's shirt, trying to tease him.

"They're all dead," Morgan replied sarcastically, had Thomas not been a child he would have slammed him immediately.

"Oh," Thomas replied curtly, Iris in front of them, was busy eating the fish she had just grilled in the fire.

"Blue Moon?"

Morgan turned quickly, his brow furrowed. "How do you know?"

"I was the prince earlier," Thomas said, giggling, proud of the knowledge in his head, but a second later his face turned serious. "I heard Andreas ordered it. They plan to make all the race leaders submit to them."

Each race in the Megalima kingdom has a leader, although the Megalima kingdom is led by a queen from the human race, they have no right to regulate the internal affairs of each race. The queen only acts as a political leader.

"Prince Andreas? That guy really... will tear me apart someday."

Morgan closed his eyes, he remembered the night of the terrible massacre that happened in one night in his pack, he didn't have time to protect anyone. The Red Moon pack came and messed them all up suddenly, in an instant, the Blue Moon pack was only Morgan left.

Iris listened to the two men talking, she sighed softly and leaned her body against a boulder, looking up at the stars in the sky, suddenly she remembered Sarah.

She didn't know if Sarah was still alive or not, she'd better not meet Sarah for now, she was too lazy to face her bad temper.

"What's your business in the east?" Iris suddenly asked while looking at Morgan, she was curious about Morgan's purpose.

Apart from his ridiculous request about making Iris his soul mate, the man still faithfully followed Iris with Thomas despite the many difficulties they had gone through in the snake's nest.

"I want to meet someone," Morgan answered honestly, while Thomas sneered. "She's ... my sister."

Iris leaned closer to Morgan's side, the cold wind gusting against the skin, the branches rubbing against the leaves. Fire swayed in front of them.

"Does she live alone?" The woman took out a cloth and put it on herself, her head resting on Morgan's shoulder.

"Yeah, she left the pack for some reason." Morgan put his arm around Iris' waist while smiling mockingly at Thomas, who just snorted and turned his back on her.

"I have to find him before Red Moon comes after me."

Iris nodded, the fire in front of them had turned into a pile of coals, the smoke billowing thinly in the wind. Iris turned her head and felt Morgan's warm hands hug her tightly. It felt nice and warm, she muttered an incantation. Slowly, a large root emerged from the ground and formed a dome, Iris made it to dispel the cold air.

"Iris," Thomas muttered faintly, still with his back to them both. His head was lying on a mossy rock. His fingers intertwined with each other, trembling. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "Thank you."

Iris straightened herself, she chuckled softly, feeling strange about Thomas's behavior, she let go of Morgan's arms and grabbed Thomas's arm, forcing the boy closer.

"Why? Is something bothering you?" Iris asked worriedly, she didn't know what happened when Thomas was with the snake woman, but Thomas's face looked depressed all the time. She repeatedly asked that to get Thomas to open his mouth, but all he found was Morgan's sour face.

"There is not any." Thomas sat down and glanced at Iris. Behind him, Morgan just snorted.

Iris smiled, without further ado, she carried Thomas into her arms, she knew that in Thomas's head his thoughts were very chaotic. Even though he had regained his sight, his thoughts and feelings were still trapped in the souls of innocent children.

The concept of the White Wizard's curse is the return of the soul to the bottom, like an innocent baby who doesn't know the world.

"Thanks… I … was able to stay alive."

Thomas embraced Iris, at first he never thought he could break this curse little by little, at first he felt that he had resigned himself to the situation, was ready to accept the fact that he would soon die, but now he has a hope to live again, he has hope of saving his life and his sister.

And also reclaim the throne of the Megalima kingdom.

His hands haven't fully embraced Iris, when he feels Morgan's strong hands that also hug Iris, the boy doesn't want to lose, his lips pursed, and looked at Morgan with a mocking look.

Thomas let go of his hand and wiped his tears, his sad emotions suddenly evaporated and were replaced by annoyance at Morgan.

This man is so annoying.

Iris chuckled, she glanced at Morgan behind her and held both of their hands. "I should be the one thanking you. You two are with me right now."

Morgan cleared his throat, his face right above Iris's, red to the ears, he bent down and buried his face in Iris neck, taking in the scent of roses emanating from her body.

Thomas just blinked a few times, looked at Morgan and Iris in turn, then laid back in his place again, closed his eyes, and intended to sleep.

Morgan just glanced at Thomas, his brow furrowed in displeasure, he sighed as Iris let go of her embrace.

"Come on, we should sleep too."

Morgan nodded stiffly, Iris took the blanket out of her pocket and wrapped it around Thomas, she turned to look at Morgan, intent on the blanket.

"Cover me," Morgan said pitifully, he was like a big sulking baby.

Iris chuckled faintly, her hands moving to open the blanket.

"Tch! You spoiled dog!" Thomas shouted without turning around.

"Shut up, boy."

"All right, all right. I'll cover you two to be fair." Iris laughed, she stroked Morgan's and Thomas' faces in turn, then lay down between them. He looked up at the stars in the sky from the gaps in the roots that Iris had formed to shade the three of them.

She suddenly had a bad feeling.

"I don't want to meet my friend," Iris muttered and she slowly closed her eyes.
