Chapter 10 - Pack of Wolves 1

"Morgan Lloyd?"

"Yes, that's why we are wary of anyone who comes to our territory," said Alena, she took a deep breath.

"You'd better rest, it's getting dark soon."

Alena stood up, and invited Iris into the house, the house looked quite comfortable, all made of wood. There were decorations of dried leaves on the walls, and lots of green plants in the corners of the room, making anyone who entered feel a sensation. naturally from the tropical rainforest.

"This is your room." Alena opened the bedroom door. Inside there was a bed and a table, the woman wanted to leave, but Iris held her hand.

"Where's Thomas?"

"He's in the treatment room, you can see him tomorrow." Alena touched Iris' shoulder with a smile.

After saying that, Alena walked away, leaving Iris, in that simple room. For some reason, she felt uneasy, she was used to seeing Thomas huddled around her.

The sound of wolves howling repeatedly sounded when the night was getting late. Iris got up, unable to close her eyes for a second, she was agitated.

Peering through the window, Iris could see a pack of werewolves gathered in the middle of the settlement, the woman quietly sneaking out.

Iris passed through a room whose door was tightly closed, the faint sound of Alena and several people arguing.

"I don't agree. We have to finish him off immediately."

"We can't be careless, how are the remaining pack members still out there? That would harm our pack."

"We can't hold it in for too long, tomorrow Lloyd must be executed!" A person's deep voice spoke calmly, and the atmosphere of the room became heavy. That person must be the Alpha of the Red Moon Pack.

Iris didn't expect Alena to lie, she was good at acting. Alpha is here, did Alena do it on purpose so that Iris wouldn't be able to ask where Minu is? She decided to leave, but the heavy alpha voice stopped her again.

"The human who was with the Witch this afternoon, was he the one Prince Andreas was looking for?"

"Yes, He's the one."

"Make sure he and the Witch don't get anywhere, keep them separate until Prince Andreas comes."

"Okay, we understand."

Iris immediately ran without a sound coming out, they had to leave this place, she knew who Andreas was, Dai had told her yesterday that the new Prince Megalima was looking for the previous Prince Megalima.

"Thomas is a prince," Iris muttered in disbelief, Iris searched for Thomas secretly, but she couldn't find him. Even Litzy, who turned into a dog, couldn't find the smell, Thomas was gone without a trace.

Iris and Litzy instead find the smell of Morgan, the wolf Alena talks about, in a barn furthest from the settlement, guarded by two werewolves.

An idea popped into Iris's head, maybe Morgan could help her, but she couldn't swallow Alena's information about Morgan slaughtering his pack.

Iris cast a spell, turning herself into Alena.

"Luna, what brings you here?" scolded the werewolf who was on guard, they stood up to greet Iris.

"I want to convey a message from Alpha," Iris said quietly, her heart trembling nervously. The werewolf, without many words, immediately opened the barn door, let Iris in, and closed it. They waited outside because they felt it was a private conversation.

Now it was just the two of them in the dark warehouse, under the moonlight that slipped through the cracks in the walls, Morgan was there, bound tightly by iron chains, his head drooping, his whole body covered in wounds and covered in blood, if Morgan weren't a werewolf, Iris was sure she was dead from blood loss.

"Morgan, do you remember me?"

Iris changed her appearance again, came closer to Morgan, and held Morgan's face.

Morgan's eyes narrowed, and there was a seepage of blood blocking his eyes, Iris swiftly wiped the blood with her hand.

"Iris?" Morgan voiced hoarsely, Iris nodded quickly.

"Why... are you here?" Morgan spoke again, almost choking on his blood.

"It's a long story. I'll help you out of here, but I also want you to help me."

Morgan looked at the Witch, and he chuckled. It was easy for him to get out of there, but he lost hope, and despair, his feelings were dead, there was no one he could rely on or protect, and his family was gone.

His life feels empty and boring.

There was a slight distrust of Iris, tomorrow was the day of his execution, it didn't take long to think about believing or not believing in Iris, but seeing Iris's wistful eyes moved Morgan's heart.

"Okay, I'll help you," said Morgan, at last, the chains rattling loose in one jolt.

Iris was stunned, at how easily a werewolf used his immense strength, why didn't he run away earlier?

"But I have a request," Morgan continued with a grin, staring at Iris with his piercing eyes.

"What's that?"

Morgan took Iris' hair and kissed it, the strong rose scent lulling him. "I'll tell you later."

Morgan stood up, and as his werewolf body recovered quickly, he came out of the barn, followed by Iris.

"You ... how can ..." The guard's words were cut off by Morgan's punch right in the gut, as well as one other person, they lay on the ground helpless.

Alpha power is never a joke, Iris thought in awe.

"Come on." Morgan pulled Iris's hand, and Iris's chest was pounding again, she followed Morgan's steps while holding her breath, afraid that her pounding heart would come out of her mouth.

They stopped some distance from the barn, on slightly elevated ground, so that they could see the wolf settlement from up here. Iris sighed, her hand still in Morgan's. She felt her cheeks burn.

"What should I do?" Morgan asked, Iris gently pulling her hand away.

"Can you find Thomas?" Iris looked up, her face becoming restless.

"That weak human?" Morgan wiped away the remaining blood on his chest, the wounds had closed completely. Iris who saw it just gulped.

"Yes, Alena said she was in the treatment room, I've been there, but there's no one there."

"Why did they separate you guys?"

"He will be brought to Prince Andreas tomorrow, we have to save him." Iris intertwined her fingers.

Hearing Andreas' name, Morgan's jaw tightened, he closed his eyes, trying to find where Thomas' smell was, tracking him with his wolf abilities.

"He's in the house of the wolf elders." Morgan pointed to a large house in the middle of a werewolf settlement, many werewolves were passing by there.

"That will be difficult." Iris bit her lip and, seeing Morgan sitting down, she sat beside him.

"They'll know I'm running off in no time," Morgan said casually, as if it were a matter of course, "We'll have to do it before they find out."

"You have a plan?" Iris accidentally met, with Morgan's eyes, her face heating up and her cheeks turning red.

Morgan smiled, bringing his face close to Iris' ear.

"Use your abilities," Morgan whispered.

Iris lowered her head in shame, getting up awkwardly.

"We disguised ourselves there as Alpha and Luna, you're such a good Witch, I thought you were Alena."

"After that?"

"After that, let's make a big mess here."
