Ren scanned Naaza after Miach's introduction.
The first thing he noticed was her dog ears and her tail sticking out of her skirt. Although Ren had already seen a few Chienthropes, it still fascinated him to see one up close.
Ren's attention turned to her right arm. He knew that under the long sleeve and the glove was a prosthetic arm. Although he was curious, he knew that it would be inappropriate to ask.
Naaza's purple eyes stared into his blue ones as a moment of silence passed between them.
"Nice to meet you Naaza-san. Please take care of me." Ren said with a light bow.
"Mmm." was all Naaza murmured before walking off.
Miach sighed as he apologized, "I'm sorry, she's not usually like that."
"No, it's okay. I understand." Ren was sure she had been eavesdropping on their conversation and wasn't surprised by her outburst.
"By the way, where will you be living from now on?" Miach asked in an attempt to change the topic.
"What do you mean?" Ren asked in confusion
"Well, Familia members usually stay in the same building. So I was wondering if you'd be moving in." Miach explained.
"I haven't really thought about it..." Ren had always been curious about this tradition. Perhaps Gods truly saw their Familia members as their children and sought the raise them to the best of their capabilities.
Perhaps it was to help Familia members foster a closer relationship with one another. These were the people that you'd hope to have your back.
Ren started to think about it carefully. He didn't mind moving in at all. The only problem was his relationship with Old Man Noniz (A/N: The old man that took him in).
Ren didn't know how he would break it to the old man. Old man Noniz didn't have anyone else in his life, and since Ren was such a nice kid, they happened to get along well.
Ren knew the old man might be saddened, but he didn't wish to give up his dream.
Ren still had to give Miach, so he turned to say, "I still have some things to take care of, but I should be in soon."
"Good, just let me know when you plan to do so." Miach said with a smile.
"Yes, Miach-sama."
"Well then, I need to get back to work. You can always talk to Naaza whenever you need help." Miach said as he left the room
Ren turned to see Naaza's expressionless face. He didn't even notice she was back in the room.
"...Sure."
If Ren was honest, he wouldn't wish to be in the same room as Naaza at the moment. Ren could feel her anger even though her face was expressionless.
A moment of silence passed before Ren said the best thing he could think of, "Lovely weather we're having?"
The tension in the room became almost palpable.
...
Ren wandered around the area as he contemplated his next course of action. Apart from talking to Old Man Noniz, he also had to find a way to improve his combat skills. Ren didn't think it was a major problem however, since even Bell could make money without unlocking Argonaut and Liaris Freese.
Unknowingly, Ren found himself in front of a large cathedral. He could see a number of people around the area. (A/N: The abandoned church isn't far from here actually.)
The temple seemed like it was a tourist attraction. In fact, Ren could tell that many of these people weren't from Orario.
"Are you also here to see Saint Fulland's Cathedral?" someone asked.
Ren didn't recognise the person, but he still responded in kind, "Actually, I've never heard of it."
The man seemed shocked. "Then what are you here for?"
"I'm new to Orario, so I've never actually explored the area." Ren explained.
The man accepted the reason without much suspicion. There were several people entering Orario every day.
They continued to talk as they approached the cathedral
(You can skip is you want)
"Do you know of Dungeon Oratoria?" The man.
Ren thought hard before remembering the spinoffs Danmachi had, though he wasn't sure if that's what the man was referring to.
"I dont think so."
"Dungeon Oratoria recounts the historical events that took place in Orario during the Ancient Times, prior to the descent of the Gods. It consists of a compilation of multiple tales of the heroes of yesteryear.
One of the tales is about a hero named Fulland. He and a Spirit worked together to hunt monsters that escaped the dungeon. Although I'm not sure why, the Spirit ended up dying. Fulland in his grief built this cathedral built this temple for her."
Ren looked at the cathedral in awe. He never would have thought a tale like this existed in Orario.
As Ren approached the cathedral, a question popped into his head, "If the temple is built in the Spirit's honour, why wasn't it named after her?"
A smile popped onto the man's face as he answered, "Apparently she never gave her name to Fulland. No one's why though."
"Anyways, here it is." The man said.
Ren looked up to see the cathedral. The sight had him awed.
The temples features reflected the red hues of the setting sun to create a scene that Ren had only scene in anime, unable to be replicated in real life.
It took a while for Ren to turn his attention back to the man accompanying him, but he turned back to find the man missing.
"I didn't even get his name." Ren muttered under his breath.
Almost immediately, a breeze came by as a name entered Ren's ears.
"Fulland..."
