While the crowd was still shocked by the events, Ren felt he was in a half-conscious state.
'What is happening to me?'
Before he could go into a panic, Ren felt a presence appear beside him.
"You could fulfil my wish."
With those words, a spirit appeared, manifesting itself in the real world and Ren's mind.
The spirit was a handsome figure glowing with a bright golden light. It smiled as it offered an ethereal hand, and Ren's chains responded.
As a chain connected Ren to the spirit, a gasp made its way through the cathedral.
A clergyman finally realized what they were witnessing.
"It's Fulland!"
"Fulland? You mean the Fulland?! Fulland of Water and Light?!?"
Gasps spread through the cathedral at this revelation. Word spread through the area as the cathedral began to fill up from the phenomenon.
Ren began to undergo another transformation as he began to glow a radiant dual light. His hair, which had been a shade of blue, began to glow a shade of white light too.
Ren floated higher, his body seeming to embody the very elements, reminding people of the harmony between man and spirit they had once read about.
While the outside world was clamouring, Ren heard a faint whisper in his mind.
"I'm glad that I get the chance to see you again."
"I don't know if I can say the same."
"...Understandable. Do you still resent me?"
"I never did. And you know that."
"..."
"You hurt me."
"I never meant to."
"Then what did you think would happen?"
"I... don't know?"
"..."
"I'm sorry."
"I never asked for your apology."
"Then what do want from me? What will it take for you to forgive me?"
"I had forgiven you a long time ago. And you don't owe me anything at all."
"Then why does your soul still reside on the mortal plane?"
"Because of you. You've created this place, and it has bound the last fragments of my soul to it."
"...I didn't know."
"It's not your fault. It just happened."
"So what happens now?"
"Now? I going to give this boy the last of my power. The time has finally come for me to rest. You should too."
"So this is it?"
"There's nothing more we can do. Our era has long passed."
"I see..."
That was the last thing Ren heard as he fell into a deep slumber.
As the power transfer finished, Ren's body flashed a radiant light before the chains that had bound him the two spirits began to recede, along with the rest of the chains.
His body slowly descended onto the cool tile of the cathedral floor. Many hushed whispers took place as many tourists and residents realised what an event like this signified.
The boy represented a once forgotten age, a testament to the validity of the stories in Dungeon Oratoria.
Many Familia members thought this was an opportunity. Recruiting a boy like this would not not only bring fame to their Familias, but also strength. Ren had a unique skill that was never seen before.
Before any of them could make a move, the clergymen in the church surrounded Ren's body. They were filled with awe and reverence.
An elderly figure walked over and muttered a soft prayer for Ren and ordered him to be carried over to a place to rest.
The clergymen began dispersing the crowd that had gathered. This didn't decrease anyone's curiosity, and many people decided to investigate on their own.
While this was happening, a priest decided to check if Ren was part of a Familia. The emblem was the body of a healthy man.
"Does anyone recognize the Familia emblem on him?"
"Yeah, it belongs to the Miach Familia."
"Their home isn't far from here. Send someone over to inform them of what happened here."
"Yes sir."
It didn't take long for someone to reach the Blue Pharmacy. Naaza looked at the clergyman with a weird expression. She nevertheless prepared to serve him.
"Good evening sir, how can I help you today?"
"Sorry to disturb you, but I've come to inform you about something regarding one of your Familia members."
"Oh?"
It just so happened that Miach happened to overhear the conversation and introduced himself.
"I'm Miach. Is there a problem with our new member?"
The clergyman began to inform them of the event that happened. The two Familia members were shocked. To think the member they had recruited just a short while ago was capable of causing such a large commotion.
"Let's close up shop and go carry him back."
Miach was a little shocked, but quickly recovered and knew what he had to do. Naaza was silent, she couldn't accept that a new member was already causing this much trouble.
As they approached the cathedral, Miach could hear many people talking about what they had seen. He didn't know how far the events that had happened today had spread.
Miach could even see many other Familia members gathering, some whom he recognised and some who recognised him.
He didn't know what would become of this.
As Miach looked at the boy whose hair was now tainted blue and white, a thought came to his head.
'Just who have I recruited?'
