Chapter 260 - He Doesn't Like Me

As expected, Ava was attacked with questions on her first break of the day. The paralegals were feeling particularly gossipy. 

She tried to look like she was doing something on her phone and desperately texted Kael praying he would respond. He did but not fast enough to avoid getting cornered. Drat!

"A little birdie told me you came to work with Ian Wardell this morning," Pamela Mattingly said with a knowing gleam in her eye. "Did you two have a hot weekend together or what? I knew he was friendlier with you than anyone else here but wasn't expecting that!" 

"I didn't have a hot weekend with anyone. I spent most of it watching TV by myself. We happen to live near each other so he proposed a carpool to save gas. That's it," Ava said firmly. She was being at least partly truthful. The only lie was that they lived near each other. One door down inside a house was more than 'near.'
