Chapter 4 - My body that carries a tiny human

September 24, 2020

Northside Hospital (Ob-gyn office)

"Well congratulations you Ms. Martinez are  pregnant. Well you're 2 weeks into your pregnancy." Dr. Hyung told me while showing me the baby. I didn't know how to feel let alone didn't know how to react to be honest. I just felt numb if anything.

"Well Ms. Martinez we have the following options for you for you if you'd like." The doctor said bringing me out of my head. "We could give the baby up for adoption, or just keep the baby" She said handing me a pamphlet. "Or like most young people do now in these day we could go for termination."

She said looking at me with a stoic face. "Can I come back by sometime next week to make a choice?" The doctor nodded. "Alright then Ms. Martinez you are good to go and I shall see you sometime next week." She cleaned the gel from my stomach and helped off the chair.

I walked out of the clinic feeling numb, knowing that I have a tiny human inside of me. I put my hands on my stomach and started to cry. I didn't know what to do. I went walking around until I looked up to see where I was.

I was in front of the house of the man who ruined me. The house of the man who took the one thing from me. The man who took and gave nothing back. I looked at the wondering the one thing I should do.

"Should I tell him?" I muttered to myself. I thought long and hard as I walked up to his house. You would think for a guy to have money he would at least have some security. I knocked on the door and waited trying to figure out how to tell him I was carrying his child.

"Uh hello ma'am are you here for my mommy or daddy?" A little girl who looked just like Darian. "Oh no one sweet," I was cut off by a woman coming to the door. "Riley, what are you doing? I told you don't talk to strangers."

A woman who looked and was dressed amazingly stepped into view. "Well hello Ms..." She said waiting for me to introduce myself. "I'm Akira." I waved. "... Right Ms. Akira so how can I help you?" The woman said as if she didn't want me here.

I wouldn't blame her. I couldn't blame her. She just sees a dirt poor lady who is thinking of whether or not she should ruin your marriage. "I wanted to know if you could spare some money."

She gave me $200 in cash and closed the door. I then left the house and went to a motel nearby. Through the time I spent trying to figure out what to do I decided one thing for sure. No matter what I was going to keep the baby.
