Chapter 4 - You're Dismissed!

A very strange scene greeted the people of the Argesto palace. A sweet 5 year old girl sat confidently on the throne like an emperor while a 24 year old man stood underneath the stairs, raised his head fearlessly and met her gaze.

The man was Phillip Blackwood. The heir of the Blackwood Marquess house. "What is the problem, your highness?" His tone was mocking and arrogant towards the child.

Ha! How dare he look up towards me and mock me like that. It is going to be fun when I show you your place, you brat . I glazed over to Lyla who nodded back. I smiled brightly towards him. "Lord Phillip, I am glad you finally came here after so long." I emphasized that he was late to respond to a royal order. "Yes, your servants seem to be slacking off these days. I wonder why?" He smirked as the servants flinched.

Touché ! But a face off with me is useless. Still smiling brightly I said "Is that so, then I will punish them later. For now I want to tell you that the crown prince and my food are very poor." I looked at him while raising my head to show my position is higher than him. He replied in an indifferent tone "Is that so. I thought there was an emergency." "There is an issue with the standards of the meals and palace of his highness, the first star of the empire. Is that not urgent?" I spoke in a slightly more commanding voice, reminding him of his position while innocently beaming.

" The star of the empire" he softly said in a mocking tone which reached everyone's ears as he continued in an indifferent but somewhat contemptuous expression " Princess, since you never got involved in matters of the palace, and don't know much about these things. The Emperor does not provide us with sufficient funds for some reason. So what can we do?"

He should at least react faintly when bluntly lying to me. The money may be less but it is not insufficient to buy meat. I sighed loudly. I saw him smirking when I said " I understand".

Haughtily, he blabbered " I am glad, your highness. I think it suits you better to learn dancing rather than involving yourself in matters you do not understand." I completed my sentence while cutting him off " I'll dismiss you."

"HUH!"
