I was hungry and so was my sweet brother. I had to cook. Yes, I can cook. Although I joined the army my mother taught me the skills of a housewife for my future. They will come in handy now. "Let's go to the warehouse." I said looked at Lyla. She was shocked but I had been full of surprises in the past week.
We went to the warehouse. Lyla was making appalled comments about how we had wonderful ingredients from the west but they were hoarded and never served to me and my brother. I looked around and could recognize most of the ingredients. I decided to have my brother taste Korean cuisines while I collected the materials for Kimchi, Kalbi with rice and soup.
I told my newly appointed head butler Mr. Hayes to make broth-based soup and rice. While Lyla(she is now head maid) helped me. After washing the vegetables and meat. I gave Lyla instructions and oversaw her making the dish. I checked over the soup from time to time too. In a few hours the kitchen had a mouth-watering fragrance.
Mr. Hayes and Lyla looked at me as it I was a culinary genius with mind-blowing recipes. I could sense that I gained respect in Mr. Hayes' eyes. I told them to set up the food on the dining table while I called my brother. When I showed him the table filled with different cuisines his mouth was drooling. The knights and maids around us were in the same condition but they were controlling their urges to eat.
My brother gobbled down almost everything. I was so happy that I forgot to eat. After lunch I told Lyla to give the dishes I had made for the servants as a reward to them for their loyalty. I wanted to treat them well so that they would treat me well. This was my life motto.
The servants and knights loved that I personally cooked for them. Most nobles degrade their servants and treat their knights as if they are invisible. Nobles also never cook personally. The bad impressions and rumors about me were cleared as everything was perfect, but then Mr. Hayes announced "His Majesty, Emperor Nicolas has arrived. Please gather in the courtroom!!"
