Of course, my chest started to throb high when his orbs were turned normal to all black. Who wouldn't have a second thought?

But in his darkest, I realized he is still the same. Despite all the psychical altercations he has to go through, he never wanted to harm me. Or my family. He didn't want to force anyone to get comfortable to be close to him. Although it is palpable, that being indifferent to him takes a toll on him.

And for that, I appreciate him. I have never been this fueled to believe in a person. And to want to see through their displaying facade this much.

So maybe, right now... I am ready for him.

"I am scared of all of the surrounding foreign individuals around me. I do not know all of you and I am still... in trepidation of what you all might do to me, to my family. Your world, the vampires, and that creature I have encountered with Rylelia have been an impossible sight for me. It was a staggering encounter and I am unfamiliar with this place. It was hard to exist in a world I don't know what lies. A place screaming all supernatural is daunting for me, who only knows how to behave in a world where these are non-existent. So help me..."

"Make me familiarize this place. Introduce me to who I should not anger and who won't bite when no one is looking. Introduce me to a group that has no ulterior motive of wrecking all that is precious to me. Make me remember who I was... and what I am,"

"Please... allow yourself an introduction to me again. Bare to me what I didn't know before. And what has been constant since the first time I know you when I was at Caressa,"

"Let me understand what I am here for Akin. Cause everything has been confusing," I bared my inhibitions straight into his eyes without constraint.

"Are you now comfortable of me?"

I shook my head.

He soundly accepted it.

"Aren't you frightened of me?"

"Yes," I whispered. "I am frightened."

"Then I am not the best person you should hear about these-"

I fastly held onto his hand when he is about to slip out of my sight again. And with my most sincerity, I spoke my heart out.

"I am not comfortable. Yes. I am in fear of you especially when you were like that. Certainly. But I was not anymore your judge. So let me hear why you are that way,"

"Speak your truth to me and I'll listen. So we could trust each other more. Not be uncomfortable as if a stranger to each other. And not a height fearful of each other,"

"You do not know what you are saying,"

He shook his head, pulling himself out of my hold but I refused to. He might be yanking me away from this place in full force at my stubbornness but I won't let go.

"Indeed. But I do not want to be a coward and clueless anymore. So speak to me so I would know what is right for me to say,"

He didn't answer and remained muted, brows furrowed as he goggled on my hands on his. He raise his chin up after a long while of strained breathing and my heart sank when it glistened in secrecy.

And my tears pooled when at his greatest intensity, he kneeled before saying something that reverberated in my heart.

"I've never been so sure of my feelings unless it's you. Thank you,"

Eyes moist and on restless heart beats, I kneeled to pick him up.

I brought his constant bowed head to the side of my ears. Comforting him with my tending caresses. "You don't have to kneel at me."

He remained muted but his fisting hands on my sides told all that he is restraining.

"Cause I am not higher than you. As you are not to me too,"
