After some time while walking in silence, which I prefered (but was unexpected considering Light's personality), Light interrupted the piece. "We're almost there! Just to that hill-'' he pointed to a specifically tall one. "-over there, and then we'll be there! It's on the hill!" He grinned at me, but I just nodded.
A long time has taken for us to get here. I would estimate about 5 miles from the Star city.
After another stretch of silence, Light looked as if he couldn't take it anymore. "So… how ya doing?"
Other humans' brains are something I do not understand. Each neuron in their brains sends electricity, thus making your actions and your thoughts the way they are. But humans' brains are all different, and they all depend on memories and genes. I guess Light's brain structure is different from mine, or say, Sana's.
"I'm doing good." I smiled at him, and continued walking. The faint aching in my leg bothered me, but there were much bigger problems. "What about you?"
"I'm good!" After that, another moment of silence passed. Light pouted. "I don't understand how you could go on with that much silence. I will literally go crazy!"
Silence is when you have time to think. It's peaceful and quiet. It's when someone is yelling in my ear or talking to me all the time, that will make me go crazy. "Silence is peace. We don't understand each other, but try to. Everybody is different."
He nodded. "Ok!" Though it would be fun to see what reaction Light has to this.
He looked around, as if desperately trying to find something to talk about. Perhaps it is I that needs to understand humans more.
"Oh!" His eyes landed on the ripped golden seam of my hanfu, and another hole. "I could sew that up for you!"
An exasperated look appeared on my face. "We're walking." I glanced at the hill that Light had pointed at earlier.
"We'll just pause. A little time can't hurt, right?"
"No. I'm in a hurry." A hard look passed through my face.
Light sighed. "Fine. I'll just do it while walking."
"Too dangerous."
Light abruptly stopped and gave me a cute frown. "Why are you always so hard! I almost feel bad for Sana!"
This time I was caught in an oblivion. What does he mean by that? "What do you mean?"
Ice blue eyes met mine, and he sighed. "From what I know, you are really dense in emotional things."
I raised an eyebrow. "You haven't answered my question."
We strolled towards the hill, which was getting closer and closer. "Well… Sana obviously has taken an interest in you. But you act all formally and dismissively of him. I feel bad." Light turned towards me. "I'm serious."
I stared at him. I hadn't realized that. But now that I have, so what? "And?"
He stared at me in disbelief. "What?"
"I mean, he has nothing to do with me. I honestly don't care what he thinks or feels. Only if it's useful to me, and in this case, it isn't."
Light sighed. "You're hopeless. Just think of him as you. Would you want to be treated this way? Used all the time? Just try to treat him better. That's all I ask of you."
I pursed my lips. Doing that wouldn't create any negative effects. It'll just let my assistant favor me more. That might even result in a favorable event. "Ok."
Light smiled at me. "Great!"
We were met with a wall. I stopped before I could walk into it, but Light walked right into the wall. He let out a small 'oof!'.
I chuckled. "Are you ok?"
"I'm fine." He glanced up. "We're going to have to climb this, though."
I shrugged. Wearing a long dress would not come in handy, but it would provide a swift passage. Experience also made it easier. "C'mon. Follow me."
I jumped up and started wedging my fingers and feet where I could push myself up. There were wider ledges where I could just jump into.
Deep inside my head I already knew we were trespassing against Star, but certain things were necessary.
Soon I was at the top, and I looked down. Light was still struggling. A streak of surprise hit me, but Light struggling wasn't why I was surprised. It was because of the sympathy that was taking over me.
I shook my head. What Light was doing was not beneficial to me, nor does it have anything to do with my wellbeing.
I looked up at the portal, one which guards were defending.
Light's head popped up, but I pushed it back down. We were both standing on a ledge located on the hill, but it also allowed us to witness what was going on. "Quiet!" I whispered. "We're going to have to defeat them."
I counted the knights, which were probably assigned by the Star god. There were 5. If there were five, having a prince next to me would be beneficial.
"Alright. Here's the plan. You go to the front 2, I'll take the back 3. Got it?" As much as I knew his strength, I still trusted myself more. I would be fighting more, which meant more outcomes were in my control.
Bright blue eyes stared at me, and he bobbed his head up and down.
There were convenient bushes around the top of the hill. So I made use of them. Soon I was facing my three targets. A grin emerged on my face. This would be fun.
They were all built, traditional armor on them. All holding spears, and the emblem of Star (Three stars with a black circle in the middle, creating a triangle) on the armor. Very subtle, Draven.
I immediately jumped up and held a knife against the closest knight. The other two jumped into a fighting position, furious looks decorating their faces. "Who are you?!"
"Who I am doesn't matter." I smiled. "Now, if you throw your weapons down the hill right now, I will kill your friend here."
The knight I was holding trembled, but then immediately tried to push his way out.
Of course, it didn't work. I was holding him, but I also used some magic to hold him in place. It only made me press the knife deeper into his upper throat. I also took out a small jar, and made him swallow it.
The other knights gasped. "Don't worry," I comforted them. "It's only a weakness potion. It's not poison. Poison is for my friend, not me. My patience is being tested, though. Get. Rid. Of. Those. Spears."
I enjoyed the terror on their faces as they threw their spears into the distance. I also disposed of the pitiful knight's spear.
Once all the weapons were not in reach of the knights, I slit the knights throat. He slowly slumped, and I released him, both magically and physically.
I stared down at his lifeless body, and the other knights glared at me in fear. "But you said-"
"You trusted me." I smiled. "Thank you for being a good, obedient dog."
I darted towards one, and picked them off one by one. One of them pulled out a knife, and I just used magic to immobilize him.
After only about 10 seconds, all of them were… had no more future in front of them, let's say. Too bad, so sad. They have nothing to do with me.
I had heard yells and groans from the other side of the portal, as well. I just hadn't heard the screams of death. Did Light not kill them?
I intended on finding out, so I turned the corner. What I saw did not please me.
They were not dead. I looked up at Light, and cocked my head to the side. "Have you not killed them off yet?"
Light frowned. "What do you mean? I just tied them up. Did you kill them…?" He glanced around the portal, and let out a small gasp at the lump of bodies I left there. "Oh my lord- You can heal a lot, and you can deal a lot of damage!"
"So why didn't you kill them?"
"Because they're humans…" Light stared at me as if I was an idiot. But then, only idiots would think the more rational way of thinking was idiotic.
I explained it to him. It didn't reach his brain the first time. "If you don't kill them, they will come back and annoy you some time later. Killing them off is the most easier way to handle it, without them becoming a nuisance later. Besides, what's wrong with killing them? They have no connection to you, and letting them live results in no benefits." Simple. You kill them.
Light sighed. "You still don't understand, do you?" No. It was him who didn't understand. "Just try to be more sympathetic next time."
Sympathy? It was something I knew I lacked, as knowing what one lacks and have are two of the most important things of using one's power to the fullest. But it was something I considered as a gain, not having any sympathy. It means it'll be more convenient to manage my emotions in order to use my powers to the fullest, and use that to make the area around myself more convenient for me.
I didn't say anything, and just stared at ice blue eyes. What was it about Light that made him so likeable, where everybody likes him. Even Sanda, a battle-hardened knight, developed a fondness of him. His whole kingdom welcomed him. Even if he was the second prince of Earth, he was more favored than the first prince.
Light grinned at me, and gave me a thumbs up. "Experience is what'll make you change! Me saying something won't do anything. Now, as you're in a hurry…" he motioned towards the portal.
I walked towards the portal, but before I went in, I turned around. "It was a pleasure meeting you, second prince of Earth."
"Me too!" His blonde hair waved in the sunset, and a bright grin appeared on his face.
Remain happy to the end. But if you always stay happy, what about those who care about you? I dipped my head at Light, who in such a short time, became a brother figure towards me. It was almost as if this was our last time meeting, yet I knew there would be more opportunities for us to meet. "You can keep smiling, Light. It decreases your surroundings sadness. But have you ever thought of the people who have cared for you? Those who are selfish would enjoy you always being happy, but knowing that even though you sometimes are sad, those who truly love you would not be happy. Be sure to let your emotions out some times, Light." His smile disappeared.
Giving words of advice to a figure of royalty. Something that I had done before, but this time it was advice I myself would like to take. I know about it, yet I do not take action on it. Action. Only thinking about it is useless. Acting without thinking is useless. I chuckled at the absurdity of this whole event.
Before Light could say anything else, I hardened my mind and stepped through the portal. Let's find out what Zhongli has to say about this troublesome Wendura event.
