Chapter 3 - Chapter Three…

I made the first move by punching the ground to create an earthquake which in turn disoriented the demons. Wille conjured a storm cloud above us and hit them with a lightning bolt, immobilizing them, and frying some to a crisp, Bones moved his hands and arms in an upwards motion making large stone spikes come out of the ground and skewer the demons.

The fight was over way faster than I thought it would be so I relaxed, but then in the center of our formation, a large blue demon came out of the ground and spoke in a deep gravelly voice "I underestimated your abilities, guess I will have to finish you off ".

In one clean sweep hit Wille in the side with its huge fist, shooting him into the forest surrounding the field. Assuming it had taken care of Wille judging me the next weakest, kicked me in the stomach forcing me into the air, then hammering me into the now cracked ground.

Finally moving on to Bones, the demon turns around only to find no one there, it is then greeted with a sharp pain in the back.

Bones had swiftly moved behind it and hit right in its blind spot. The demon feels the pain but doesn't flinch, it just spins, putting a lot of force into the punch coming right at Bones' face. He ducks right in time, but the demon stops its spin and slams its fist right into the back of the ducking Bones, in turn forcing him to a similar depth in the ground as Haldo is currently.

Stunning the now buried Bones with its speed. Soon after he falls unconscious.

The demon is bleeding profusely from its back but even so goes around collecting the newly beaten Fates.

When going to collect Wille it finds that the previously assumed beaten kid instead finds a sneak attack, a halfhearted one that is, Wille is pretty badly wounded.

The demon is jarred slightly but regains its composure, Wille had not zapped it due to worry of hurting Haldo and Bones, but had noticed a wound on its back. Going for the wound with a makeshift spear made from a broken tree branch instead was met by a foot to the face, knocking the already wounded kid fully unconscious.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I woke up being carried by purple demons on a stretcher type thing with my arms and legs bound. The last thing I remember is Wille being shot into the forest by a blue creature.

By the way, where is he? I can't see Bones either. I am a bit worried, but I know they can handle themselves, I should be worrying about my situation.

Going over my surroundings once more I notice that I was on a small pathway in a ravine and surrounded by the purple demons.

What I failed to notice was that a blue demon was leading them down the pathway and into the ravine.

So I quickly snapped the ropes binding me, hopped off the stretcher and knocked maybe five of the demons around me off the cliff. That's when I noticed the blue demon.

Blue demons aren't a blue version of another animal like purple ones; they are their own thing, and they are much larger than purple ones (ranging from 4 to 6 feet taller than purple demons, coming in around 10 feet in height and much scarier).

It seemed to have been previously injured but I still just stood there in shock, but the blue demon didn't wait for me. It took one step towards me and hit me across the ravine so hard it made a sonic boom! It was really pissed off due to our last encounter.

I hit the other side of the ravine with so much force I was embedded 10 feet into the rock face!

As I am crawling out of the rock face I notice that Bones and Wille are way below me in the ravine, and are surrounded by thousands of purple demons and maybe five blue ones.

Then I notice a huge blue demon maybe 5 feet taller than the rest of the blue demons.

This big one in the center seemed to be ordering all the demons around in some sort of dark speech. He stops talking all of a sudden and jerks his head up to look at me, and I find myself with a horrible look of terror on my face.

Despite that I yell down at the red demon "Once I am done with this guy over here" *points at the blue demon that hit him into the cliff* "I am coming after you"!

The demon just smiles, then bursts into laughter and yells back " Go right ahead"! I ignore the taunt and get in a battle ready stance, I begin to hear a ringing sound, it's quite faint but strangely I can hear it clearly, but nevermind that.

I look over at the current problem who seems to be pretty confident.

The demons below me start moving around, eventually making a large circle, it closely resembles a fighting arena.

Just as I was thinking that my opponent jumps down and lands in the circle. This was a very surprising development, not only did they do this without any visible communication, but the blue demon just jumped down a nearly 60 foot cliff without sustaining any harm!

When I looked down at Bones for approval I saw that the leader demon had knocked Bones and Wille unconscious during the arena making.

The leader looked even more pleased than he did before. That's when it clicked, this demon is on a whole other level than everything I've faced so far. I made a mental note to stay away from it as long as possible

I jumped off the cliff edge landing in the hero position, "I've always wanted to do that". I am really surprised I survived that but I didn't let that show on my face.

As I stand up I say to the demon in front of me "heh, time for some serious ass handing".

Without warning the blue demon sprints towards me, but this time I was ready for it.

I duck under the punch flying towards me and punch it in the armpit. I quickly move to his back aiming to kick its wound, but to get that high on its back I jump into the air.

The demon takes advantage of my inability to dodge mid air by turning and backfisting me in the face. Shooting me a few feet away before hitting the ground and tumbling for a couple more feet. This roughed me up quite well.

I stood up with blood dripping from my nose, my lip seemed to have spilt a bit as well. The demon saw this and smirked, seeming much more confident in its chances to win this fight.

The demons surrounding us started talking in the same dark speech the leader was ordering them in. My opponent saw this and responded, giving me a small opening to attack.

Weighing my options here I made a B-line for the demon covering the small distance between us in an instant.

Remembering something Bones had taught us during our training, "use your momentum to add power to your attacks". Not slowing down my sprint I slam my knee into the demon's stomach, forcing it to keel over in pain.

Not hesitating, I plant my left hand firmly into the ground and kick my feet from their place on the ground into the side of the demon's face. Ending up in this flashy single arm handstand.

Failing to think ahead of this point my legs continue past the point of where I could stay balanced. I land on the ground flat on my back, winding me and completely pulverizing the awe the demons around looked at me with.

The demon got up soon after I fell to the ground, "not bad kid. Do you still think we should give him a weapon, dumbasses?". *silence* "That's what I thought".

I slowly stand back up, breathing really hard. My thoughts about winning this fight are all but destroyed, and even if I win I would have to beat an entire army of purple demons and another five of these blue ones. My chances of survival are pretty much zero at this point.

I wryly say "I think we should still give me a weapon". Everyone laughs at this comment, some even say "why not? it's not like he's going to live anyway!". *More laughter*.

My opponent yells out in response "why not give him a glass of water while you're at it!". *Even more laughter*.

I widened my eyes at that comment. Using my powers I could completely heal myself with that, and maybe even completely replenish my stamina if they give me enough. The laughter is getting very annoying though.

A demon trying to hold back tears of joy, jokingly brings me a glass of water, making everyone crack up even more. At this point it is getting on my nerves, but I slowly walk over to the glass swallowing my pride in the process.

Before I could even pick the glass up a blue demon this time throws a spear into the arena. I try my best to put on a disgusted face so they don't take it away, but internally I am euphoric.

Imagine my luck! The exact same weapon I have been training for years was just willfully given to me during a time of no hope!

Avoiding the super useful weapon just thrown at me. I drink the whole glass of water in a few seconds, surprising some but not stopping them from expressing their enjoyment.

As I walk over to the spear something that quiets the entire crowd in only a few moments. All of the small wounds covering my body were gone, and the blood dripping from my broken nose and puffy lip began to dissipate! The thing that really mortified my opponent though was the fact that he had allowed this to happen.

In one quick shocking motion my nose snapped back into place, and my lip went back to normal.

I dislodged the spear from the ground and spun it around with grace.

Now used to my newly acquired weapon, I run towards my current enemy trying not to think about what will happen if I win.

Thankfully that glass was big enough that I could at least replenish some of my stamina.

The demon went with the same approach as before with a strong punch going right at my face. The demon expecting me to go the same route I went before as well by ducking under the attack, was surprised when I instead sidestepped to the right to avoid the punch, utilizing my newly acquired range I stabbed him in the chest.

This time I was the one who was surprised, my attack should have gone right into his heart but instead stopped at the ribcage. Apparently demon's have more ribs than humans do making it harder to deal lethal damage.

That really is too bad.
