When it was Tuesday, I was back doing chores at the office. I had purposely left the watering pitcher out on the sidewalk in front of the laundry mat, full of water. I was using the chair to hold the door open because the door closes by itself and I had to carry the pitcher with both hands when it's full. When I put the chair back in its original spot, I heard a girl shriek and say "Whoops. Oh, No. I emptied the whole pitcher and now it's in the grass. "Ra damn it," I said to my self with disbelief. What was happening? I figured that someone had tripped over the pitcher and emptied it completely. I came out the door and I was right! A girl my age with yellow hair was laying front down in the concrete where she spilled the water and the pitcher was in the grass. I was surprised and pissed off. "What the Duat did you do that for?!" I cried. "Calm down. It's not a big deal," said a young man with blonde hair and dark blue clothes. There were 10 people right in front of me. "Yeah. I'm sure it was just an accident," said a young man with brown hair with a side-swept bang. "Excuse me, ma'am. Aren't you the girl in that picture?" asked a handsome, muscular man with long blue hair, pointing at a picture of me in a news paper. "Yes, that's me," I said. Then I saw Kratos and the cop who killed the exsphere monster on the news paper. "We even saw Kratos on there," said a boy with white hair. "You guys know Kratos, too?" I cried, surprised. "Yeah. He's even my father," said the brown-haired young man. "Did you kill the monster that attacked you?" asked the blue-haired hunk. I saw a picture of the monster grabbing me from behind. That gave me a flashback of me being attacked. "I didn't kill it, but I attacked it. And a Police man shot it square in the head, killing it," I said. "If you kill a monster like that, you could wind up in jail," said the young man with brown hair. "Yes. That's true. That same exact thing has happened to me before," said the man with blue hair. "Well, I've been to DJJ when I was 16 for trying to stab a teacher with a plastic knife," I said, feeling my heart sink with guilt and pointing my fingers together. A woman with whit hair gasped. "You did WHAT?!" cried a girl with flowers in her hair. The yellow-haired girl got up. "How could you do such a thing?!" she cried. "You awful lady, stay away from my sister. She's a teacher, too!" cried the boy. "Genis, I don't think she's angry enough to try to stab anyone, yet," said the woman with white hair to the boy. "She's right. I was very angry back then," I said. I introduced myself and everyone followed suite. The brown-haired young man was Lloyd Irving. The girl who tripped was Colette Brunel. The Boy was Genis Sage. The white-haired woman was Raine Sage, also Genis's older sister. A young woman with purple hair and a purple tunic was Sheena Fujibayashi. A young man with a pink vest and long red hair was Zelos Wilder. A girl who was slightly shorter than me with her pink hair up in pigtails was Presea Combatir. The Muscular man was Regal Bryant. The boy with blonde hair was Emil Castagnier. The girl with flowers in her hair was Marta Lauldi. Colette apologized and I accepted her apology. "Kaede, I will like you to meet Tenebrae," Marta said. "Come on out, Tenebrae. Come meet Kaede," Marta cried. That summoned a black, jackal-like creature. From the way it looks, it reminded of me of the jackal-headed god Anubis in his jackal form from ancient Egyptian Mythology. "Greetings, young lady. I am Tenebrae. I'm the centurion of darkness," said the creature. "I'm Kaede. It's nice to meet you, Tenebrae," I said, stoking Tenebrae in the head. "This isn't a petting zoo, you know," he said. "But you're so VERY soft! I sometimes visit Pet Helpers," I smiled. I took everyone to the neighborhood office where Lisa was. I introduced everyone to her. I also told everyone about my quest. "Who's King Tutankhamen?" Lloyd asked. "You don't know about a great ancient Egyptian pharaoh who gave me such an awesome and exciting quest?!" I cried. "Did you just mention the word 'ancient'?" Raine asked me with joy. "Uh, oh. Here comes her 'ruin mode' again," Genis said. "Yeah, why?" I said. I wonder why she looked so hyper and excited. "I love ruins, don't you?" Raine cried. "Yeah. Especially Ancient Egyptian," I said. Then she gave me a suffocating hug. She actually squeezed the air out of my lungs. "Awesome," she cried. "Uh, Raine, please don't suffocate her," Sheena said. Then Raine dropped me. I took a breath and then Genis noticed something. "Hey, Kaede. What's that around your neck?" Genis asked. "Oh, that's my ankh of the goddess Isis. She's the Egyptian goddess of magic. She is shown right on this ankh," I said. "But what's an ankh?" Genis asked, looking at my necklace. I can't believe that they don't know about ancient Egypt, I thought. "An ankh is the ancient Egyptian symbol for life," I said. I also showed every one the exsphere that Kratos gave me. "Where'd you get that?" Lloyd asked me. "Kratos gave it to me," I said.
