Two days later, Tang Rong was discharged from the hospital and initially, Tang Ning had planned to get a cab but Feng Shufen insisted and he took them home. Reaching the house, the caretaker was waiting for them and the after patient was taken to his room.
"Thank you for everything Mr Feng," said Mr Tang. "You don't have to thank me. I am a close friend of this family," he said. "Thank you for valuing friendship then," he said.
"Alright Mr Tang. I will let you rest," he said before glancing at Tang Ning and he stepped out. "He's quite serious in pursuing you," he mentioned and Tang Ning looked away shyly.
"Come on father, I will go and walk him out," she said and on getting in the living room, she found Tang Moyu speaking with him. Not wanting to interrupt, she said, "Thank you for bringing us home Feng Shufen. I will go and deal with some things."
Since they didn't have a spare bedroom, Tang Ning had asked the caretaker to take a holiday for the moment she was going to spend home nursing her father since she was going to use her room.
At night when she was in the kitchen cooking dinner for them, Tang Moyu came. "What are you making?" she asked. Looking at her, she replied, "I'm going to cook the usual chowmein and fried rice."
"Do you want my help in anything?" she asked surprising her. "Sure. If you're not busy," she said and Moyu fetched the ingredients to prepare the rice.
"So tell me, what is Mr Jing Yue like?" she asked. "Uh, what do we mean?"
"I mean his ways, his likes and dislikes," she said. "Well I don't know much about him as I don't usually see him but from what I know, he is a kind man. He's not a bad boss," she replied.
"So, is his house big and fancy?" she asked.
"Yes. You know how rich people can be." "So, you have your own room?" she asked.
"Yes. I was given one downstairs," she informed. "Is it so big?" she asked. "Uh, you could say that," she said, trying her best not to sound like she was showing off. "So when are you going back?" she asked. "I don't know. I will go when I'm sure that father is okay." "Alright. I want to come with you when you're going back," she said. "Okay but about that, I will have to first ask my boss if it is alright," she said.
After the supper, she ensured that her father took his medicine before going to her room.
Coming out of the bathroom, she started blow-drying her hair and when she turned to glance at her phone, she saw that it was ringing.
Walking to it, she checked to see that there were two missed calls from her boss and her eyes widened. Getting it in her hands, she contemplated on calling him when he called again. Picking up almost immediately, she said," I'm sorry Mr Jing Yue. I wasn't around."
"It's alright. I wanted to know if you were discharged from the hospital," he said.
"Yes. We came back in the evening. Thank you for asking."
"That's good....the house feels empty without you," he said surprising her when he added," The twins miss you, especially Huan." "Uh, I miss them more and about that, I would like to ask for something."
"Go ahead." "I would like to stay here for at least a week. I'm hoping he will be okay after that," she said.
"It's okay." "Thank you so much Mr Jing Yue." "Alright. Good night," he said before hanging up.
She laid on the bed and she realized how she misses her teddy bear. She cuddled it to sleep most of the times.
On one evening, Jing Yue and his friend Jin Liwei were in their usual lounge, having some time for themselves. As they were still drinking, Jin Liwei said," So then, tell me what's so important you wanted to talk about."
He took a while to say," It's more like, wanting to get your opinion or say over the matter."
"Go ahead," he urged him. "The thing is, I think found someone," he revealed and Jin Liwei nodded, urging him to continue. "I don't know what to do though," he completed.
"So, who's this woman?" asked Jin Liwei. "I won't tell you that at least not now. This woman, she is...I don't know how to describe her but I think I like her," he said. "So you want my opinion over the matter? You know what I will say to it. If she feels the same way then go ahead. You have to move on Jing Yue. I'm sure Liling wants the same thing," he said.
"It is not that easy Jin Liwei," he said. "Trust me when I say that I know what you mean. My case was more complicated than yours, you know that. But at the end, I decided to go for it and I realized that it was the best decision I have ever made in my life," he said and Jing Yue thought about it. "But, I am not so sure if she feels the same way. I mean I can feel that the attraction is mutual but, she is much younger than me," he said. "And how is that a problem?" he asked. "You know how they can be," he said and Jin Liwei smiled at that.
After much silence, he said," I am glad that you are considering taking another next step. You deserve it," he said and added," Go for it."
A week was quick to pass and Tang Ning was leaving her house the following day. During the entire time, Feng Shufen would come to the house and not once did he find Tang Ning's daughter or husband and it made him curious. After checking on Mr Tang Rong, he went to the kitchen where she was and he found her.
