Staring at their already vanishing figures, Dave breathed out. He's glad he's been able to save his only remaining family. Although his daughter tried to kill him, he still had to protect his wife. That was his promise to her.
Leaving the almost burnt down house, he headed to the car he came with. He had just realized that he still loves Stephanie and killing her will definitely kill him as well.
Entering the car,he sighed, rubbing his forehead.
"Let's go", he uttered, but not before taking a glance at the ruined house.

Evan paid for his goods and left the store. They had ran out of groceries and he took it on himself to do a refill. Who else will do it if not him.
He entered his car and zoomed off, having just one thought in mind. He had to eat. Getting to half of the way, he realized there was a huge snarl-up and he decided to cut corners, passing a free but long road.
He immediately turned the car around to pass the road. The road is a lonely one which a lot of people don't pass for fear of thieves and highway robbers.
Rolling up his window, he locked his doors and sped up. He can't risk his life for a free road.
As he drove, he saw a figure from afar. Getting nearer, he realized it was actually two figures and not one.
Adrenaline rushed through him as he imagine himself bring ambushed by robbers. He was already having sweaty palms and was almost calling the police but stopped when he saw that they were females.

Dolly couldn't hold her surprise when her dad let them go.
"Run, leave", he had whispered to them, hurrying them to go.
Stephanie was so grateful, she smiled out tears. She wasn't even able to thank him but her action showed how grateful she was.
Pulling her mum, Dolly ran from the burnt house. She can't think about what happened until she finds safety for herself and her mum.
She rushed to where she packed her bike but it was damaged, probably beyond repair. They had no choice but to keep waking until they find someone to help them.
Stephanie kept grunting as they walked. She was obviously too tired but couldn't stop. No vehicle was coming. The road is really clear.
Lifting her mum from her armpit, Dolly tried to relieve her mum a bit. She wished to carry her but she herself is tired.
As they walked, Dolly kept listening to the surroundings. She can't be too calm. She doesn't trust Dave one tiny little bit and he can try to hurt them again.
Hearing the sound of an oncoming vehicle, she stood still, giving Stephanie a space to breathe and rest. She squinted her eyes a bit to see the driver of the car.
Stephanie rushed to the road, "please help us", she shouted at the top of her voice, causing the driver to step on the brake.
Dolly rushed to her mum, holding her by her hand.
"Do you want to get killed?" She scolded her, pissed by her mum's action.
She dragged her away from the road and turned to the passenger's side. She knocked on the window, placing her face on the window to see the driver.
**************************
Evan stepped on his brake when one of the women jumped to the road. He had almost list it. Her lips were moving but he didn't hear what she said since all his windows were rolled up.
The other woman dragged the first away and came to the passenger's side, knocking on it. He looked there and saw the familiar face. The face he's missed so much.
Dolly couldn't see the drivers face since the windows were tinted but immediately the window was rolled down, she opened her mouth in surprise.
She gulped down nothing as she tried to speak but Evan cut her off.
"Come in please", he said, unlocking both the front and back door.
Dolly opened the back door, pushing her mum into it, she sat also. She didn't sit on the passenger's sit because she felt so nervous. She couldn't even look him in his face.
Stephanie kept staring at Dolly. If someone had told her her daughter could act this shy, she would've vehemently denied it.
"Thank you", she stated, since her daughter wouldn't.
"You're welcome", Evan said with a smile.
"Your home address?" Evan asked, still keeping his smile.
He knows how much his smile is affecting Dolly but he couldn't help it. He loves the look on her face.
Telling him the address, Stephanie tapped Dolly who had zoned out, staring at Evan.
Startled Dolly almost jumped out of her sit. She turned red watching Evan laugh at her silliness.
"What is it mum?" She questioned, turning her gaze from Evan. Her heart, beating loudly, she feared he would hear it.
"You zoned out. Won't you appreciate the young man for helping us?" Her mum asked with a lopsided grin.
"Th.....thanks for the ride." She stuttered.
"You're welcome," Dave said, "but if you're really thankful, you'll give me your phone number.
Dolly bit her lips hard, trying not to blush.
"Are you trying to hit on my daughter while I'm here?" Stephanie asked, teasing him. "And I don't even know your name Mr."
Evan laughed, looking at Dolly's mum from the rearview mirror.
"I'm sorry for not having to introduce myself. I'm Evan, Dolly's friend."
He checked to see Dolly's reaction and was not surprised at what he got. She had scrunched up her face in disgust.
"We aren't friends mum", She interrupted.
"We're dating then." Evan said.
Turning to Stephanie, "Dolly is my girlfriend". He added, smiling smugly.
"You wish", Dolly whispered.
"Yes I do." Evan replied.
Turning to Stephanie, "Will you please, allow me to date your daughter?" He asked, looking so serious. Dolly wasn't even sure if he was joking or not.
"Of course", Stephanie answered. "Infact, you're my son-in-law as from now", she added, chuckling.
"Thank you mother in law". Evan slurred.
Halting the car, the duo walked out.
"Really thanks for the ride." Dolly said, finally regaining her courage.
"Anything for you girlfriend". He winked at her.
Dolly hurried into their house. Her face was hot and she didn't want Evan to see that. She was almost at the door when she overheard her mum calling out to Evan.
"Would you like to have dinner with us son?" Stephanie questioned.
"Of course mum." Evan answered. turning away from the car, back to the house.
Dolly entered the house, still hearing them conversing. Rolling her eyes, she whispered to herself, "this is going to be a long night".
