Chapter 26 - Crazy things and Stranger things

Walking down the hallway, Damien kept on checking the doors at intervals not even knowing a clue about how he even made his way into the hallway which seemed to be never ending. Looking at the windows, he couldn't find anything but a white thick fog. He opened a door then abruptly walked in, just to appear in a green blank field. Looking back, the door was gone and what only stood behind him were the iron fences.

"What? I was here before wasn't I?" Damien asked but no reply came. He looked back; all he could feel and know was how strong the breeze was. The air around him wasn't that of Tranquility, he could hear his own heart beating heavily. He walked forward, looked around but couldn't also find any clue of he had been here or not. He in fact had no clue about anything only kept on walking to a door at the center of the field. Even with his shaky legs, and his stomach craving for food, he was able to reach his destination. He opened the door to find himself in another room filled with different ornaments which captivated his eyes. But this wasn't what he needed now; he needed to satisfy his tummy which kept on rumbling. It was as if the longer he stayed in this maze, the hungrier he became. He scattered the neatly packed flowers out of anger as he kept on searching. Damien looked at the window with his orange eyes glowing bright. He growled before destroying the window with all the energy he had. He kept on running in the empty desert at alarming speed. His fury knew no limits as he kept on running around to find anything and anyone to devour. Still running on his four legs, he walked past the desert, but once again found himself in a dark room. Damien looked around but could see nothing, only a thick black void.

"How did I get here?" Damien asked in a confused manner. He looked around, but could find nothing due to the darkness of the place. Damien noticed a tiny light which started to grow in size, before fully displaying in front of him. Damien had to use his arm to shield himself from the bright light. He soon found himself in the same field he was before.

"Haven't I been here before?" He asked out loud as he looked around. Damien wasn't sure whether he had been to the particular location or not. He kept on walking, panting heavily.

Toshiro walked to the stairs, and an inch from the door, Toshiro found himself down the stairs again. Toshiro smiled like a crazy clown before sitting in the floor with a loud thud.

"What is life?" He said like a crazy psycho. He laid on the floor as he kept on laughing, his laughter echoing throughout the whole vicinity which seemed to be an underground cave with multiple torches illuminating the place. Toshiro seemed to be in a state of insanity, and didn't even know what he was doing.

Same thing could also be said about Damien who just kept on walking into any doors hat his gazed upon. He was in a room of multiple doors; he opened the one in front of him to see a cave which he angrily entered. He was very mad and could kill anyone and anything. If the person who pulled this type of thing was in front of him, he would probably be dead in an instant. Damien rested his back on the wall, feeling out of breath and out of his sanity; he shut both of his eye lids, trying to figure out how he got into this hell maze in the first place. He had pulled enough puzzles of his scrambled memory together to realize that he first was checking a weapon when… No, that was beyond what he could reason, it just seemed like his memory was like a media player, and this was the part where the video would stop playing all of a sudden. It seemed like the more he stayed, the more his memories started fading away, and if he didn't find a way soon, he could probably end up like Toshiro who had totally gone insane.

Damien slept on the floor sobbing for a reason he himself didn't know. Probably because he felt like he was never going to escape the maze, or that he would starve to death while trying to find a way out. He just felt like giving up after a lot of trails and fails. Damien was starting to lost track of time, and his vision was now blurry. Damien tried standing up, but the thought of trying and dying stopped him. Damien looked at the wall for some time, before noticing something on the wall which was a fissure, and tiny drops of water. Normally, he would run to the leakage to get water, but he was in a desert and there was little possibility of this occurrence. He stood up then took a closer look at the fissure. His vision started to get blurry once again and this time, he felt like passing out. He fell to the floor, but like the popular wrestler undertaker, he stood back up. This time, he felt very stronger and filled, he had regained some of his memories and his body was no longer as weak as before. He looked at the location of the fissure to see that it was nowhere to be found. He wanted to continue his inspection when the laughter coming from the end of the cave stopped him. Damien walked to the location of the sound, with a strong feeling that the laughter was from the person who brought him into this mess.

'I swear I'll rip his throat out.' Damien almost said out loud.

Entering the place which seemed to be the command center of the place, Damien walked to the person laying on the floor in tattered clothes and laying on dirt. He clenched his fist ready to punch when he saw the face of the person.

"To" He looked at Toshiro who seemed to be totally out of his senses, with a look of confusion. Toshiro only kept on laughing causing Damien more fear.

'He's lost his memory, that's why he's behaving like this.' Damien thought. 'I need to find a way to bring him back.' H

"Toshiro, it's me Damien." And like before, Toshiro kept on laughing, ignoring Damien's words as if he was never there.

"Remember? I saved you." But like a system rejecting a thumb drive, Toshiro ignored his existence.

"Alright, enough talks. Violence would do." He said before his claws went red and on flames. He swung down his arms, slashing Toshiro's face and giving him a very bad cut to the cheek.

"Ah!" Toshiro grunted. He looked up to see his trusty comrade standing in front of him.

"Damien?" He asked with a look of confusion.

Seeing that he was back to his senses, Damien heaved a sigh of relief. Toshiro looked at himself to see only rags worn by him as clothing.

"Oh God!"
