**ADDIE'S POV**
I didn't really understand what was going on. I had arrived at this ball to find out that I was the guest of honor. For some reason, that I doubt that I would ever know, King Callum and Queen Juliana had thrown this party for me. It made no sense to me.
I mean, if they were looking to humiliate me or to sell me off to people, then I would understand it. But when they started to walk me around and introduce me to the others, it seemed clear that they were trying to shield me from the people that I was meeting.
I mean, they were introducing me to them and all that, but they were being very odd about it. When we left Nolan behind and descended to the main party area, I was standing between King Callum and Queen Juliana. They were both smiling and guiding me over to the various groups of people. And I knew right away that this was going to be different than I expected it to be.
