"It's been a month and you already know most of the things about elemental energy. I don't think you need a tutor. Try reading some other books too. I will be back to check up on you after a month." Aysel said with a smile and vanished as Aiden sighed and sat on the bed.
For the past month, his mother had been asking him questions about elemental energy and he had easily answered most of them. But Aiden didn't answer all her questions in one go since that would make him look like a little too smart kid.
And the smarter he was, the more expectations his parents would have. One thing Aiden had learned from his previous life was to always keep people's expectations low because in this way, he could basically surprise them by doing easy things.
"I wish I was a little dumber and had a forgetful memory." Aiden sighed again as he stood up and went near the bookshelf.
He picked up a few books which caught his eyes and sat down on the bed and started playing with the shadows of the bed and himself. His current room had two bulbs which one more compared to the previous room.
While the system read the books, Aiden tried to master his shadow manipulation skill and had a sudden idea.
'System, put five skill points in shadow manipulation and evolve it.'
< It will only level up host and will not evolve. I will proceed to do it. >
Ding!
[ The skill: Shadow Manipulation has leveled up.
Range and Duration have been increased. ]
Aiden was surprised by the message but didn't mind them.
"Hey, system, can I teleport through the shadows like my mother and the people in black do?" Aiden asked the system as he hopped off his bed and dropped the shadows he had been manipulating back on the ground.
< They don't teleport using shadows host since as far as I have read, the shadow element can't be used in such a way. The only possible way to teleport from one place to another is using the space element but I need to read more to gather some information. > The system replied as Aiden nodded.
"We have plenty of time system." He replied with a smile and started practicing his shadow manipulation skill.
***
< That was the last book here host. > The system said as Aiden sighed and dropped down on the bed.
"I have waited five years for some kind of information but it looks like there isn't anything here." Aiden sighed as he looked at his body.
He was exactly ten years old now and today was his birthday. For the past five years, he learned about the demon realm, the continents on the demon realm, the capital of the demon realm, the capitals of the continents, the ruling families of each continent, and at last, about the demons themselves.
A demon child is considered as an adult when he or she reaches the age of sixteen but that was just a book written thing. A demon reaches real maturity when he or she develops their demon horns. Before that, a demon is still considered a child which was not fair considering how some demons didn't grow horns at all.
But there were some exceptions because of some special demon races.
Then Aiden learned that there were a total of four continents on the demon realm. The biggest and the most powerful of all continents was the continent of Sephiroth which was named after the first demon king.
The capital was known as Shadowstone which was the surname of the ruling family. The other there continents, in order of their military power and size, were named as Astaroth, Azlan, and Yorokobe.
Now one interesting and scary thing he read was that the ocean and rivers in the demon realm contained red blood instead of water. The water that Aiden drank daily was given to him after filtering the red blood.
Nobody knew the reason for this since demons had black blood.
And one last thing he learned was about rifts.
Rifts were fluctuations in space that happened once in a while at totally random places. They connected one realm to another realm at total random times. There was no guarantee on which realm a person will go to.
"I wonder how many realms are out there." Aiden muttered to himself as he stood up and started stretching his body.
Due to daily exercises, Aiden's figure was quite healthy. He didn't have extreme muscles but his body still looked all right. Aiden also noticed that exercising increased his vitality and strength.
< Host, I was wrong about space element being the only means of teleporting. There is something known as shadow travel. You can jump from one shadow to another but it might randomly throw you a little further away from where you wanted to go.
You need to think about the particular place where you want to go and then jump into any shadows near you. You will then emerge into a shadow that was closest to the spot. But you can't use this teleportation method because of two reasons. > The system suddenly said as Aiden sighed.
"Because I don't have that high efficiency of controlling shadows and I don't know the layout of the place I am in." He replied as the system sent a 'yes' message.
"What about time and space elements. If I remember correctly, Infini said that that I will get the powers of time and space." Aiden said while remembering his conversation with Infini.
< You will get them, host. That's all I can say for now. You will have to wait for some time to obtain them. Even I don't know when you will get them. > The system replied as Aiden sighed again.
If he looked back at this, sighing was almost becoming as normal as breathing for him.
Just as Aiden was immersed in his thoughts, he heard footsteps behind him as he turned back to look at one of the people i black stepping out of the shadows.
"Her highness has ordered us to take the young prince to his new classes." For the first time ever, the person in black spoke.
His voice was raspy and heavy and clearly told Aiden that he was a male.
He then grabbed Aiden's shoulder as the latter maintained a poker face.
'Let's see how this goes.' Aiden thought silently before he vanished with the man in black.
