A large and muscular man wearing a pale golden armor with silver trimming and silver crest of the Order of Light on his chest piece heads through the halls.
He's accompanied by a young man with short silvery hair, just long enough to pull back into a small ponytail, and pale blue eyes. He also has his arms exposed from a shirt that seems to have had its sleeves ripped off, showing what seems to be light blue rune like tattoos going all down both of his arms, from just below his shoulders to just above his wrists.
They both soon get to what seems to be an empty hallway, with a bookshelf placed at the end of the hallway. The man in the pale golden armor pulls a certain book on the shelf, and the shelf slowly swings open. The both of them enter the room hidden behind the shelf, and the shelf then closes behind them.
There are five others in the room currently as well, and a large pentagram painted onto the floor within a large circle, and various rune looking lettering around the inside of the circle as well. One person stands at each of the points, and they all chant softly.
The two head over closer to it, and the man in the pale golden armor soon takes his helmet off, holding it under one arm at the moment, now revealing his deep golden hair, and his dark pinkish eyes, and looks towards the young silver haired man. "So, Rune, are you sure that you're ready? This could easily be our last mission together, you know?" He cautiously questions his companion.
"Of course, Giradon. You know that I'm always with you, to the end. Whether that be now, or years from now. I'll never abandon you." Rune confidently answers.
"Good. I'm glad to have such a faithful friend with me." Giradon responds.
"Sir, the portal is ready." One of the men around the pentagram says to Giradon.
"Thank you." Giradon and Rune soon approach the large swirling deep reddish colored vortex that now lays in the middle of where the pentagram was previously.
"Are... are you sure, sir, that you don't want anyone else to go with you...? An army of demons sits on the other side of the portal." The other paladins ask, worried for them.
"I only need Rune with me. If he's with me, I'm confident in our abilities. Besides, I cannot risk the lives of the rest of my men. I've already told you that I want you to close that portal once we're through, and I want you to follow through. Got it? We can't have anything else getting through. Besides, I have a single use magic scroll that will be able to get us back, if we absolutely need to evacuate in an emergency. But I'm not planning on leaving until I've fully completed the mission. Now, get ready to close the portal." Giradon instructs the other paladins.
"Y-yes sir..."
Giradon then puts his helmet back on, and joins Rune next to the portal. "Ready? There won't be a moment to rest, the second we step through this portal." Giradon asks Rune.
"Of course. I was made ready." Rune replies.
Giradon and Rune then leap on into the portal.
-------
Once they're both through, they look around, seeing a large and vast reddish mountainous and practically barren landscape. Though they're soon confronted with a large amount of varying demons, though the portal behind them soon closes, for good.
"Well, there's no turning back now, old friend." Giradon then unsheathes his large golden looking sword, and his large silvery shield with a golden crest of the Order of Light on it.
Although Rune doesn't seem to have any weapons; but the rune looking tattoos on his arms now seem to be sliding off from his arms, all the runes now floating around above his head. And soon they start shooting towards the demons, killing a few of the weaker ones almost instantly. And, now angered, the demons then start to charge towards them.
"I love when you do that, it never gets old." Giradon then starts slashing at the demons as they get near them, and blocking the occasional attacks with his shield, as well.
"Well, my name isn't Runestorm for nothing." He continues on with his runes, just swiftly dodging any of the attacks from the demons as they get close to him.
-------
They easily cut their way through the large horde of demons, slowly making their way into the palace. The number of demons does start to dwindle a little, but the size and strength of them are also steadily increasing as they get nearer to their goal, though.
Giradon faces off against two fairly large and rotund demons, of whom seem to be at least partially resistant to physical attacks. So, he leaps backwards some, and starts to charge up his light magic into his sword, and as they're getting up to him again, he then slashes horizontally at the air nearby, unleashing a large wave of light energy towards them, and it cuts them in half.
Rune, on the other hand, seems to be facing three of the same type of demons, though they can't seem to get very close to Rune, them being swarmed by his runes, some of the runes not only slicing into them, but also flying through them to impale them as well. But one of them soon starts to try and resist his runes, and starts to try and get closer to Rune. Rune then focuses more of his attention on the one getting closer. The demon near him then attempts to swing at him, and Rune then lifts his left arm to try and block the attack, and sparks actually fly as the demons weapon collides with Rune's arm. Rune then hardens and sharpens his right hand into a sort of hand shaped sword, then stabs into the demons neck as it tries to get its weapon out of Rune's arm. This causes the demon to then fall due to its other previous injuries as well, and then the runes on the now dead demon then start to cut into the other two demons.
The rest of the demons soon dead, Giradon and Rune then make it to a pair of huge dark colored double doors. Giradon pushes the doors open, and they then enter a large demonic and fiery themed throne room, with a huge dark throne.
And upon this large dark throne sits a huge dark red colored demon, with large black twisted horns, long demonic fangs and black talons, a long snake like tail, long pointed ears, and blackened eyes. Although some may call this demon Satan, while others refer to him as Lucifer; he has many names, but is most often referred to simply as The Demon King.
"Ah, so you two are the ones devastating my army, then? How can only two puny humans kill so many of my demonic soldiers?" The Demon King inquires of them, in his deep and booming demonic voice.
"Well, have you ever thought that maybe your soldiers are just cr*p?" Giradon teases.
"Such impudence. You both will pay dearly for what you've done." The Demon King announces angrily, as he gets up, creating a large greatsword out of a strange black flame.
"Hellfire..." Giradon just sounds a bit worried, now.
