After arriving to Mr. Starks office and dropping off the information and stone I was now laying on a metal table as he let Jarvis take care of my injured body.
The wounds I have gained are far less worse then the ones I've received before, but shit it doesn't mean they hurt any less.
Jarvis explained that the gun shot wound will take longer to heal as well as the stab on my arm.
"So what?" I mumbled.
"Meaning you're off until you get better," Mr. Stark entered the room as he looked at some papers in his hands.
"I'll be fine in 4 days," I groaned as I sat up from the table "it was just a few scratches and a gun shot wound."
"The problem with those cuts and bullet were that the weapon isn't a normal human dagger and gun, they are both from whatever planet that thing came from," Mr. Stark sighed heavily as he set down the papers beside me. "The footage captured by your suit helped us determine that what you were hurt with meaning the dagger and gun had some type of poison in them, lucky for you we have the antidote and we're able to treat you. I know you really can't be killed easily, especially since toxins run through your entire body, but you could've stayed down for about 4 months."
"So basically I would've taken a large nap huh?" I asked.
"To you, yes, but even with the antidote it seems like the toxins in your body have over taken the poison to its liking- " Mr. Stark smirked before chuckling lightly.
"Meaning I've basically gotten stronger to poison?" I sighed "well that's good, I'm basically immortal," I mumbled.
"Very good actually, but since you're still sensitive you need to rest for a while, hmm about 2 weeks seems reasonable," he mumbled as he grabbed the papers from beside me and began walking to the door.
"Well what am I suppose to do during that entire time?" I groaned.
"Just do what you normally do," he glanced at me "but don't go out partying and coming the next day doing the walk of shame, Rogers was on my ass for that saying you were not listening to his orders or whatever his little speech was about, frankly I don't really care what you do as long as you get home safe."
With that Mr. Stark walked out leaving me alone as Jarvis and Clovis began a conversation about god knows what. I stand up slowly feeling pain run through my body, I quickly grab a hold on the table I was sitting on before I can fall to the floor.
"Arte!" Clovis worried.
"I'm fine," I sighed and grabbed my shoes before slipping them on as well as my helmet before walking out the building and getting on my bike.
It was probably midnight at this point, honestly I don't know all I know it's dark out and I want my bed.
__
I walk into the building and head to my room, as the warmth of my covers hug me I felt myself knock out.
I woke up the next morning in pain and annoyance as I hear someone knocking at my door, I open it with a swift motion to only see Bruce with a cup of coffee in his hands. I grab the coffee and mumbled a small thank you before slamming the door in his face and place the drink beside my bed, I fall back into my cover, wanting to go back to sleep.
"Ana! I really don't want to bother you, but I need to ask you something about Clovis," I heard Bruce from the other side of the door.
I grab my helmet from my floor and open the door door for the second time and hand him over Clovis.
"Just call for him on my helmet I'm too tired to help you out today, if you need anything else come back in like an hour or 2," I yawned.
"But Ana-," once again I shut the door before locking it and lay on my bed and roll my self in my blanket before heading back to sleep.
__
1 hour later-
I changed into some black tights and a white long sleeve shirt before putting my hair in a clip and walk out my room seeing Bucky on the couch watching a movie or something. "You know Bruce's lab, er uhm room?" I asked as I passed by him to grab an apple.
"The level below us," he mumbled glancing at me before turning his attention back onto the screen.
"Thanks," I mumbled before walking to the elevator and pressing the button below our rooms.
The doors open to Bruce laughing as Clovis probably said something funny.
"Ana, now that your awake I wanted to run a few questions on you about Clovis, I spent a good hour talking to them but they seem to only want to wait for you to be here," Bruce laughed lightly.
"Miss Ana is my person I am required to take care of, without her here I really can't talk about many things except the ones Mr. Stark has programmed me to speak on," Clovis lied.
I know Clovis doesn't really like speaking to anyone besides me due to him being just a complete brat, he's programmed for me yet he still has his own emotions and brain process like the rest of us, he is an artificial intelligence after all. Clovis personality was of like a mean girl once I began to know them, they act like a sibling and at some points like a friend, at other times he acts like a parent, all I know is that Clovis can speak to anyone about anything he just doesn't like certain people or care for them. Clovis seemed uninterested at Bruce's questions and seemed like they were tired of them with just the tone of their voice, of course many people won't pick up on the sudden change in the way they speak but well I like to think I'm closer to Clovis and I can tell they wanted out of the lab.
"Understandable, now with the questions I wanted to ask you both, how does Clovis work around you, as they said they work with speed and diligence, would you say the same for you?" Bruce asked.
"Well for starters I would like to know why we are being asked these questions?"
"Since Clovis is new I wondered if there are any difficulties with handling them, like if they aren't searching up the correct things or at points if he crashes down?"
"None of the sort, if that's what you were checking about how we are managing everything is fine," I mumbled "any other questions?"
I looked at Bruce seeing himself contemplating over something, his mouth opened only for it to shut.
"If you need to ask more then go ahead-."
"No, it's better for me to keep to myself," he sighed before turning his back to me "could you leave me alone, sorry to bother you."
"But you weren't bothering me-."
"Just- just go," he raised his voice up at me lightly.
"Ana I think we should leave I'm reading his levels and the big guy is gonna take over him soon," Clovis spoke out.
"Big guy?" I asked before I realized who he meant.
"Just get out already!" He yelled.
"Okay, okay," I looked at him and walked to the elevator with my helmet before pressing the button to the room floors. I grab some liquor from the cupboards, and make my way to the roof.
Bucky sat in the same place I had seen him before, as I'm walking to the elevator to leave I hear Cap calling my name from behind me. I turn around and look up at him who seemed annoyed and tired.
"Yes?" I asked.
"Uh how are your wounds, I heard from Stark that you were poisoned?" He asked.
"I'm okay, if that's all I'm going to be on the roof if anything," I mumbled before turning away.
__
Hours passed and it was already night time, I sat on the roof all day just drinking and looking up at the sky, I wasn't drunk, nor was I completely sober. I mean come on you'd think I drink a glass while I was up here all along with the pain surging through my body. Drinking was the best way to distract the pain and in a way make it feel good, I have a pretty high tolerance for alcohol, but I love to get completely wasted to the point where I can no longer walk.
I wish I had a drinking buddy though, I don't really have friends here besides Clovis who can't drink or he'll break down, the group hates me, and Peter doesn't seem like the person to drink till he passes out the front lawn. I hate to admit it but I felt lonely here, more lonely than before.
"Can you see the stars, look how bright those shits shine," I laughed lightly and stretch my body.
"I can ask Mr. Stark to buy one for you if you want," Clovis mumbled.
I roll my eyes and laughed "please stars aren't meant to be owned but to be seen and admired," I smiled lightly.
"I see," Clovis said.
"Looking at stars is one of the things I looked forward too at night."
"Hmm, and what are the others?"
"Clubs, drinking, hookups," I laughed "at night you can basically do what ever you want and regret it the next morning."
"I know many things about you Arte but never the fact that you were quite well with words," he chuckled.
"I guess I got that from my dad," I sighed and sat up slowly.
"Clovis?" I called quietly.
"Yes?"
"Be honest,... uhm my brother... is he out there, like is there a possibility?" I held back my tears.
"Arte... it's 50 50 at this point, Mr. Stark found his name in a database, however that was from months ago and we don't know which planet, we can't clarify that he's alive or if that even is him and not someone using his identity. All I can tell you is that it's 50% chance, Mr. Stark is trying his very best to search for him and to find a better lead to follow. We know you're only here for that reason, but what I need to say it that you don't need to give it your all on missions, because no matter what, it does not hurry the process of finding your brother," Clovis spoke. "I don't know what you've been through, all I know is that everything that has happened has lead me to be made and to serve someone that has extraordinary powers. It lead me to meet a very down to earth person and to be of help to her," Clovis mumbled.
"Thank you, you're also goods with your words Clovis," I chuckled and took another swig from the liquor bottle.
"I'm only doing all of this to catch a glimpse of him, I would risk everything, just to know that he's out there. I just fear that he's probably living his life thinking I forgotten him," I take a deep breath and cough nervously "it breaks my heart entirely. I gave up at points and made myself believe that he's dead, that his corpse is probably rotting away in an area that I won't ever be able to find his remains. But when Mr. Stark told me they found just the slightest hint of him being alive I knew that I shouldn't give up until I see him," I felt a tear slide down my cheek "even if he's lifeless," I cried lightly and held myself.
After a short while of crying and complete silence from Clovis I started to head down to the rooms to go to sleep, I felt my body slowly falling down, I catch myself before I fall and press the button to a floor. The doors open and I walk inside before I fall face flat on the ground, I felt someone grab me but before I can look I had them pinned down to the ground.
"You're hammered," my eye sight was blurry due to the amount of alcohol I consumed, I felt it slowly become better to only see Bucky looking at me with a cold expression, I get off and dust myself.
"Don't help me, don't like contact with people," I grumbled before standing up and falling down again beside him.
"I think you need a little bit of help to get yourself to your room," he sighed and stood up.
"I, me I can do it alllllll by myselffff, you, I don't need help," I slurred my words and stood up before grabbing a hold onto the couch and slowly started leading myself to my room.
As I reach my room after a good 5 minutes of walking really slow I felt my body collapse as soon as I shut my door.
__
"Wake up Ana!" I heard slamming from my door, I wake up with a pounding headache and a very dry throat, I look at my surroundings and notice that I was not even a foot away from door.
"You've got to be kidding me," I groaned and stood up before opening my door to see Peter standing there with a grin on his face.
"I owe you a meal so what about breakfast?" He asked.
First off I'm fucking hungover and second off my dinner last night was vodka straight, so yeah of course I'm going to take Peter up on his offer. I nod and close my door on his face "gotta shower and change," I said loud enough for him to hear on the other side of the door.
__
We arrived at a small coffee shop that seemed pretty old, he pulled out a chair for me near the window as he sat on the opposite side of me. I look around the shop and take a deep breath in smelling the aroma of fresh pastry coming out an oven, a waiter came up to us asking for what we'd like to drink, Peter asked for some sweet frappe while I asked for black coffee. I'm a sweet tooth but god was my hangover beating the fuck out of me right now.
"Ma'am would you like milk or sugar for your coffee?" The young teen looked at me.
"No thanks love, uhm but what do you recommend on the pastry's especially anything with strawberries?" I asked.
"Actually the strawberry shortcake is very good here also the raspberry macaroons, strawberry cheesecake, and strawberry cake, there is also a new pink lemonade with fresh strawberries mixed in," she explained.
"Okay so the strawberry shortcake and 2 macaroons as well as the a piece of the strawberry cake," I nodded.
"Uhm I'll just have the usual," Peter smiled at her as she nods and turns around.
"What's your usual?"
"A medium sized cherry pie with loads of whipped cream and blueberry macaroons," he smiled at me and took a sip of his drink.
I hummed at him and drank my coffee feeling my head slowly stop hurting, I looked out the window seeing the scenery they had. In a way it felt like the outskirts of Asgard, tall trees covered the small restaurant and a large field about a mile back full of flowers, when Peter showed me the directions I felt like he was leading me to a remote place to murder me. Of course I know Peter isn't like that but I had the thought for a second.
I look at a flower on the ground realizing that someone might've crushed it by walking I frown lightly and glance at Peter seeing him distracted on his phone, quickly I flicked a bit of my energy to it to only see it bloom to a beautiful sunflower.
Suddenly the young female set out food on the table glancing at Peter every now and then, I laugh to myself seeing how she looked him, it was cute to see something pretty wholesome. Peter turns to her asking for some forks and she nervously mumbled a sorry before walking away quickly and returning back with the utensils, she turns to me and hands one for me and one for him "enjoy your meal," she said and turned away.
"I hope you like it," Peter smiled nervously at me before I began to eat.
"This shit is so good oh my god," I mumbled "I am so glad I treated you to lunch."
"I don't really like when I owe people stuff, I know it was you just being nice but still, I found out you liked sweets so I brought you to one of my favorite places to eat at."
"And when did you find out I liked sweets?"
"I don't know hmm maybe someone or something named Clovis told me this fact about yourself while I was asking Bruce."
"And why ask Bruce?"
"I mean from what I can tell by just first meeting you is that literally the only one you get along with is Bruce, also the fact that you did him the favor of picking me up," Peter chuckled "plus he was the last one to look at Clovis before handing them back to you."
"Clovis was in my room this entire time."
"We'll that was another reason why Bruce called you yesterday, to help Clovis roam around whenever they liked," Peter nodded as I sighed.
"What else did you ask Clovis?" I asked.
"Just some random questions your age, name, favorite food, drink, what you like to do during your free time, oh and your social security," Peter joked.
"Very funny," I rolled my eyes and smiled softly.
"Of course they did ask why I needed this information before giving it to me."
"Good," I mumbled.
"I also heard you're going to be out for a bit due to your injuries," Peter mumbled.
"Well Mr. Stark says it's for the best to rest for a bit before getting back out there, which of course I don't agree with," I sighed.
"I mean if I had time off I would be excited," He smiled at me as I began to eat the cheesecake.
"Well I'm not, it's pretty boring at the building if you hadn't notice," I whispered.
"I don't stay there for the main reason of wanting to live my life as a college student in debt and in a student house, plus it's easy transportation to live near the college. Also because I don't want to deal with Bucky always drinking as well as Thor and Captains constant yapping about being right about everything, and Bruce having mental breakdowns, oh and don't get me started on Thors brother that just pops out of no where," Peter began to complain. "I lived with them for about a month and moved out due to all the chaos between each members lives."
"Seems like they barley talk as well, do their own business but at points a bit overbearing," I mumbled "I haven't met Thors brother yet and half of the time I think Thors passed out in his room, Bucky is drinking as well but ignoring his surroundings, Cap is on my ass constantly as well as Nat, Bruce kind of got ticked off with me and well you... you're just you," I looked at him and sighed.
"I never got told on how you got recruited, you know?"
"I worked for Fury and Mr. Stark found me, I started working under him for private missions and later I guess he thought I would fit better for the team. All I know is that on a mission they fucked up and Mr. Stark lost his patience with them or something," I mumbled.
"Well for starters they did f up like really bad, Nat had a friend of hers working for us to grab information, he wasn't apart of the team but we trusted him, well let's just say his information wasn't reliable and caught the team in a large problem. I still haven't gotten exactly what happen since it angers Mr. Stark with just mentioning that day, but yeah that's all I know and I guess that's why Mr. Stark recruited you," Peter glanced at me "he found you trustworthy."
"I'm no saint."
"None of us are."
