Lyra and Blake continued hugging each other until he broke the silence "Lilly, can you accept Victor as your mate?"
She pulled away from him "Why are you so persistent about this?"
Once again he maintained his silence, how could he say that he was afraid of Victor turning into another Gregory? he was confident in fighting Victor, but he didn't want to make an enemy out of him in this crucial situation, they had multiple enemies presently, fox king and his partners, also they do not even know about Gregory's underlings. It was an incredibly blindsided fight on their way, more than that, he now had a responsibility to protect his children, he didn't want them to suffer the same fate as him. Victor was impulsive and stubborn but he was also the one with a righteous mind, Blake wanted to protect his Lilly even if meant hurting himself by letting her go to Victor.
He looked at her eyes "We need Victor's help in maintaining the peace of our family, we may have to face many enemies in the future, and I want to keep you and our babies safe Lilly"
Lyra frowned seeing his serious face "What is happening, Blake? I don't understand anything"
"Please give me some more time, I'll reveal everything to you, Lilly" he pleaded with hopeful eyes.
Lyra closed her eyes "So I have to accept Victor now?"
Blake's eyes brimmed with tears "I'm sorry, I'm forcing you like this"
She wiped his eyes "It's fine, I was the one who suggested this before, think that you just gave your permission"
Blake's heart clenched "I'm pathetic aren't I?"
Lyra shook her head "Don't think like that, it is the norm in this world to have multiple mates for females and I already accepted it a long time ago, if this can maintain my family's peace and my babies' safety then I don't mind having Victor as my mate. He is a little stubborn and overboard but overall he is a nice guy, so don't feel guilty for it"
Blake put his head down in shame "You are justifying my words and purposefully putting all the blame on yourself, Please don't do that Lilly"
Lyra glared and lifted his head "Hey! stop moping around putting such a face, didn't I say that I wanted to bring Victor out of his loneliness? I just gave up back then because you didn't approve, but now that you agree I truly don't mind having Victor in my life, anyhow I like handsome men"
"Lilly...."Blame whined
" What!?" she shouted at him
Blake sulked even more "Who is more handsome? Him or me?"
Lyra avoided his eyes "I'm not answering that, that is your punishment for hiding many things from me"
Blake hugged her "Okay, don't say that, but can I ask you something else?"
"Hmm" she nodded her head
He cleared his throat "Can we make love? It has already been more than a month for me"
Lyra chuckled "We can't, I'm currently going through heat"
Blake frowned "So soon? You gave birth not a long ago"
She pecked his lips "Did you forget that I'm different from females here?"
He widened his eyes "Then you can get pregnant after your bleeding?"
Lyra nodded her head "I guess I can, but you to wait for your chance, I'm thinking about giving birth to Lucas's children next"
Blake pinched her nose "I don't need any more kids right now, let those little ones grow up first"
Lyra glanced at the bedroom where her babies were and asked "When will they be able to turn into beastmen?"
He leaned against her neck and answered "Because I'm an immortal beastman they are more powerful than normal snakelings, maybe in twelve to thirteen years"
"That is so long" she commented, then something flashed in her mind "I forgot to tell you this, Victor made me consume soul crystal"
Blake narrowed his eyes and soon relaxed "It's fine, I was also thinking about getting you one after my return"
"Lucas said that we could find it in mountain peaks, is it true?" Lyra asked doubtfully
Blake smirked inwardly, he understood what that wolf was trying to do and nodded his head "Yeah, we can also find them in mountain peaks"
Right at that moment both Lucas and Victor entered the house, Lucas narrowed his eyes "Why do I always find you both in each other's embrace?"
"Because you always interrupt us" Blake snapped
Lucas glared at him and turned to Lyra "Come here Ly, what do you want to eat for today's dinner?"
Lyra pulled back from Blake's hug and reached Lucas's hand "I want to eat something simple, maybe some vegetable soup"
Victor flinched hearing her words, Lucas smirked at him and turned to Lyra "Ly, you can't have vegetables for a few days, Victor trampled everything in our garden"
Lyra blinked at Victor "Why would you do that Victor?"
Victor wore a complicated face "I'm sorry, I was in hurry and didn't see it"
Lucas shook his head "Do you know that Ly will fall ill if she doesn't eat vegetables?"
Victor widened his eyes "I truly didn't know, I-ill find them in the forest"
Lyra stopped him "It's fine, we are moving out of this place anyway, don't worry about it"
"No, I'll go," he said and ran out of the house
Lyra sighed and looked at Lucas "I want to discuss something with you"
"Me? What is it?" Lucas questioned
Blake left the living room to give them some privacy, Lyra held Lucas's hand looked into his eyes "Lucas, I'm thinking about accepting Victor as my mate"
Lucas nodded his head "I understand Ly"
She observed his face "You are not going to oppose me?"
He shook his head "It is necessary now for us to have Victor as our family, he is a strong beastman, I'm fine with it"
Lyra frowned "Everyone is hiding something from me, aren't you? why can't both of you share it with me"
"I will tell you, please give me a little more time" He replied resolutely
Lyra took her hand out of his and went outside the house "Both of you are the same"
Lucas followed behind and hugged her "I'm sorry Ly, but please believe us"
Lyra felt bad for forcing them, but she didn't like being kept in dark like this, they were asking some more time, it was better that way "Okay, I believe you"
Lucas smiled and kissed her cheeks "Thank you for believing me" then he faced her "We have to move to the beast city tomorrow morning"
"So soon?" she questioned back
He nodded his head "Winter is approaching, it is better to move tomorrow"
Lyra nodded "But where will we live once we reach there?"
Lucas removed her hair from her face "Don't worry, Noah is arranging everything for us"
Lyra was surprised "Noah?"
Lucas fiddled with her hair and opened his mouth carefully "Ly can you....."
"Accept Noah?" she completed his words
Lucas bit his lips, Lyra looked at him and sighed "It's fine, I was also thinking about doing it, I'm not heartless enough to just use him as a guard, he is a prince and he deserves better. He always respected my boundaries and was not overbearing with his feelings, I like him"
Lucas glanced at her with glazed eyes "You like him?"
She nodded her head "Yes, I respect and like him, he is a gentle beastman"
Lucas smiled sadly and hugged her but didn't talk anything, he felt his heart clench thinking about sharing her affections with other males, but her safety mattered more to him. Witnessing her mother's horrifying situation in the hands of that old fish, he didn't wish for his Ly to ever go through that, he also promised himself that he would reveal everything to her once they find her father. He knew her love for her parents from another world and he wanted to reveal it in front of her real father to reduce her grief.
