Amelia sat in the front of a mirror while the maid shuffled around trying to get her bath ready and another was seated on a small stool applying a nail polish onto her toe nails.
Today they had buried the King and Queen and for her it was a joyous occasion because Ramos officially became crown prince making her crown Princess since she was engaged to him...she couldn't believe she would soon be Queen.
"Is the bath ready? I need to be nice and clean" Amelia says.
"It is milday" the maid says gesturing to the bathroom.
on an instant there was a knock on the door.
"What are you standing for? check who's at the door" Amelia yells.
"Sure"
The maid goes to attend to the visitor and returns almost immediately.
"Milady,it's a palace guard" The maid says.
"What does a palace guard want here?" She asks.
"He says he needs to pass an information directly from the crown prince to you"
"Couldn't he send my father to me? why belittle me by sending a commoner and ordinary guard?"
"I have no idea why ma'am"
"I will see him" She says.
The maid goes back and returns again but this time with the guard.
He was dressed in the Royal guard uniform which was red and gold with the crest badge by the side of his chest. On his right hand he held a sword which by the way it was shining and glittering it was probably just sharpened.
"Greetings Crown princess" The guard says.
Amelia smiled lightly,she loved the way it felt being called future Queen.
"Greetings to you to guard why are you here in the quarters of the future Queen?" Amelia asks.
"I was sent by the Crown prince" He says.
"You could as well have delivered the message to my mother"
"She rejected taking the message Crown princess,she says she has no relations with you"
Amelia was fuming by the guard's words she couldn't understand what her mother most about her to make her tell a lowly man about the quarrels they had.
He was right,she hadn't been on good terms with her own mother.
She had rejected the alliance that was made by Queen Padanaram when she was alive with her father Elder Zadok saying her own daughter was not fit to seat on the throne as Queen of Gabesh.
Amelia couldn't believe her own mother could stand in the way of her progress so she had to cut her off,only her father loved her enough to want to see her on the throne.
"Very well,pass the message to me now,am all ears" Amelia says.
The guard brought out a rolled paper and handed it over to Amelia.
"The Crown prince of Gabesh, Prince Ramos would like to marry you this evening your father couldn't be here to give you the news personally as he had to prepare for the wedding" The guards finishes.
"What? But the King and Queen were just buried today" One of the maids in the room exclaims causing a look from Amelia.
"What time will the guard and carriage be here to pick me?" Amelia asks smiling.
"Seven Milady"
"Tell the crown prince that you've delivered the message and I will be ready by the time the carriage arrives"
The guard bowed momentarily before leaving Amelia laughing evily while the maids shook in fear.
"So he wants to be crowned King as soon as possible huh? that's good, means I would be Queen as soon too,oh power,how sweet it tastes" Amelia says.
