Chereads / My life as a mini minotaur / Chapter 10 - Chapter 9

Chapter 10 - Chapter 9

I woke up feeling very refreshed, I look around and see the dog from last night dead at my feet with its head severed and some green blood leaking out of the wound. Guess you're breakfast for today, I get up and walk over to the corpse and rip off a leg and start chowing down.

While eating I decide to check my status

Stat/kill Level Up Points - 1

=====================================

So it looks like some of my skills and stats leveled up, I'm not really sure what the conditions are to level up stats because they don't raise with every level, so maybe it's just bit by bit or something, and some of my skills also were raised, now those probably leveled up because those were the skill I were using a ton yesterday.

My magical energy pool increased drastically, I can actually feel that my sphere has almost doubled in size, might be because I used it all up, so then is it like training, can I just raise my stats my repeated use like the skills? Damn, that's really useful, but for the stuff like defense and HP, I would have to just harm myself right? That or I could just get into lots of life-threatening fights.

Honestly, now that I think about it I wouldn't mind that, the rush I felt when I was fighting the dog was intoxicating, and even more so when I summoned my ax and killed it. Oh, shit am I turning into a battle junkie? Ahhh whatever who cares if I enjoy battles a little more than I should, I am a goddamn monster so I will enjoy what I want and no one can tell me otherwise.

Back to the status, I wonder what the level-up point is, is it just like something that lets me level up a stat or a skill? I want to test it out, but I don't want to potentially waste the point because it seems these things are scarce. In fact, I don't even know how to use it actually, maybe the book will know.

After finishing off the dogs entire body, yes entire body I don't plan on wasting food I head down to my trove and grab the book on magic for dummies and flip to the page that has the status description, I ignore most of it until I find the stat/skill points.

[Stat/Skill points - All stats and skills can be raised through pure effort and leveling up, but most of the time the mortal races cannot raise above a certain level, and this is where Skill/Stat points come in. Every 5 level ups you will gain one point that can be put into either a stat or skill and said stat or skill will be raised by 1 Rank.]

So I was right, and based on the description for the book I should save my points until I reach a bottleneck, although every 5 levels seems a little too rare to me, then again the amount of power that can be achieved by using one kinda makes their rarity seem balanced.

I put the book away and cover up my trove once again, so now I have 2 options available to me.

1. Go through the maze killing and leveling up

Or

2. Explore the outside world

Welp, I have decided, 1 it is.

I was about to walk off into the maze but somehow there was rattling coming from my trove, confused I walk back and open it up. It was sealed so nothing should be able to get in right? Oh, wait, what if there are monsters that can burrow underground, well shit I didn't think of that. I run down the stairs ready to kill the monster but when I get down there I find nothing at all out of place.

I walk around my Enhance Sense skill keeping me notified of any changes in my environment, it's a passive skill so it's always active, and it's really helpful for situations like this, but now I'm confused as literally nothing is wrong.

Then the rattling comes back again, from the magic stuff pile, I walk over and find the furry egg I had picked up was leaning back and forth hitting the scale and making the noise. I thought it was something more serious than this, kinda annoyed I was about to smash the egg but then it cracked.

Slowly coming out of the egg was what can only be described as the cutest fucking thing to ever have existed ever.
