I walk over to the pod inspecting it, it seems rather futuristic in comparison to the rest of the tech I've seen, actually, I think it's more complex than 21st-century tech to be honest. While looking around I see some notes, most of them have been half-chewed out by Cadre, but there is one that's still intact.
He whines as I remove it from his mouth, but gets excited as I throw one of the dwarf bones upstairs and he chases after it.
Back to the notes, it seems this is a Cryostasis tube, they managed to extract some information from that large glowing in the center and made this, the person inside the tube is someone from the age of the gods apparently.
Because it seems dark elves don't exist in this century.
The age of the gods refers to a time when angles and demons walk amongst the peoples and gave them blessings and new technology, it wasn't a peaceful time as demons and angles are polar opposites, in fact, it was actually worse than now.
Great wars were fought over the smallest disputes, and the people and creatures of Asura were caught up in the conflict, the notes end there as the bottom half of the paper is unreadable, Cadre still managed to eat some of it, oh well, I wasn't really too keen on finding out this worlds history anyway.
I flip through the pages and find some minor things about the dark elves, most of it is unclear, but what I got from it was, They were a very powerful and intuitive race that fought against the angles and demons respectively for dragging the mortals into their battles, they had immense physical strength, but what made them truly dangerous was the ability to shoot out flames that burned the soul, that's how they were able to actually fight the angles and demons.
Interesting
Seems she is the last of her kind
That's kinda depressing though
I look up at the tube when suddenly she opens her eyes
She just kinda stares at me unblinkingly for a while
...
...
...
"Hi?"
*CRASH*
She came out of the tube swinging, and because I wasn't expecting it her fist, met my chin and sent me flying upwards out of the basement, still dazed I didn't notice as she followed me up and as I crashed onto the ground she landed on the ground and used fire magic.
But this one was weird, as it was a pitch-black flame that didn't incinerate anything in its path, but I wasn't fooled, my minotaur-ish instincts told me if that flame hit me I would die, no damage, no pain, just instant death.
I got up from the ground "Earth Magic: Collapsing Wall" I raise my hand up, and at the same time a wall of dirt and stone rises up out of the ground and stops the attack thankfully, and much to her surprise it starts falling over intending to crush smush her into paste.
She empowers her legs with magical energy and dashes to the left away from the impact zone, she is then met with me! As I predicted her movement and matched her speed with my charge, and because she was still mid-jump she couldn't dodge and had to take my charge head-on.
I heard a crack as I hit her
Except it wasn't the cracking of bones, but of glass
She somehow within a quarter or a second managed to create a shield? That's an impressive feat in its own right, I don't know much about magic but being able to not only notice my approach, but react as well, and all within less than a half a second?
Its safe to say that she?
Is strong.
But she was still sent flying away by the attack, I know she blocked most of the damage so I need to keep on the offensive, I can hold the field with my earth magic, but I still don't know all the spells she has access to, which means I need every advantage I could get.
"Earth Magic: Dirt wave." I slam my fists into the ground large wave of dirt is sent out towards her "Earth Magic: Create Maze." I place my palm on the ground as the attack nears her, and I construct a maze that covers the entire area "Earth Magic: Black Stoneification."
Black Stone, one of the items I picked up while looting this place, it's just like stone as it has no special properties whatsoever, it can't be used to make weapons because it's too hard to be mined normally and too rare to be found so it's impractical to use for blades and such.
It's mostly used for decoration because when cleaned it has a reflective surface that rivals mirrors made of glass, so it's mostly used as so. However, the stark contrast between black stone and stone is that black stone is the hardest material on the planet.
To mine it, you need special tools made of Ardronius bones, and then you need to hit it with enough speed to rival lighting. Ardronius are very powerful creatures rivaling dragons in pure physical strength and surpassing them in both magical energy capacity as well as intellect. They are without a doubt the strongest creatures on this planet, aside from the demons and angles of course, but they are just cheats.
Back to the fight, I highly doubt that this woman is strong and fast enough to even crack black stone, so this fight is mine to control.
*Crack*
Or not
*CRASH*
Because she literally just busted through the wall in one punch.
Seriously what kind of fucking steroids are you on woman?!
That's the strongest material on the planet?!
WHAT THE FUCK!?!
Great, and now shes glaring at me and charging up another black fire
Fuck my life.
