Leonard woke up the next day, and the activities he planned on engaging in today started crashing into his head. He got up from the bed and started muttering to himself,
"Leonard, you have to make sure to get that job, you mustn't fuck up, your life depends on it".
Muttering to his satisfaction, he dashed into the bathroom to brush his teeth and freshen up...and so he did. Coming out of the bathroom feeling refreshed as ever, he took the shirt and the trousers where he hung them and put them on. They looked good on him...they made him look responsible.
Then he tucked in his shirt, took the normal tie, and knotted it around the collar of the shirt as it hung from his neck down to his stomach. The tie fitted him, it made him look more responsible, he was looking like an office worker. When last did he dress like this in his previous earth? Only when he wanted to attend weddings with his mum as a little kid.
He strolled to the front of the mirror and glanced at his reflection, he smiled at what he was seeing. He said to himself,
"Responsible, uh. The manager would fall for this immediately though I'm not putting on a suit".
The only thing remaining for his dressing to be complete was the casual shoes. But he wasn't gonna put them on now, he was gonna eat breakfast before putting them on. He strolled to the kitchen and began thinking of what he was gonna eat. Definitely, what he was gonna eat was something that wouldn't take time to prepare. He felt like eating rice balls and stew for breakfast, but that would take time to prepare...he's got no time.
So he decided that he was gonna eat cornflakes, yeah, cornflakes again. It didn't take him time to prepare the cornflakes, you know, preparing cornflakes doesn't take time. Done preparing them, he took the plate of cornflakes to the parlor and munched them all within some minutes. Then he took the plate back to the kitchen, dropped it, and strolled into his room...it's about time to complete his dressing.
He put on the casual shoes, now his dressing was complete. He sauntered to the front of the mirror once again, glanced at his reflection, and smiled, his dressing made sense. Then he did some grooming like styling and positioning his hair the way he wanted it to be and others, then he took his fake CV and departed from his apartment.
The system said the 'Q and R construction company' was located in the Crimson Alley, he'll have to find that alley. But he has no single idea of where it's located, so as the system told him, he'll have to locate it the same way he located Eva's boulevard. He'll have to ask someone for direction, that's the best possible means to locate the alley.
As he was sauntering and looking for the right person to ask for direction, he came across a large food store. The food store was large and it had a lot of foodstuff in it, Leonard was even considering if he should get a job here and forget about this construction company stuff.
"They might need workers, most likely, a salesperson. This store is really big, they'll definitely need more than one salesperson. Maybe I should just forget about this construction company and marketing department stuff and get a job here. That isn't much of a bad idea". Leonard muttered to himself.
Making up his mind, he began strolling towards the food store. Arriving at the glass door of the store, he opened it and entered the food store. Entering the store, the two available females in it took him for a customer. They had even stood up and was about to start attending to him when he said,
"No, no, am ain't a customer, I just came here to see if I can get a job here. You know, maybe as a salesperson".
The two girls glanced at themselves, then they glanced back at him weirdly, then one of the girls voiced out,
"A job?".
"Yeah, a job".
"Does this food store looks like it needs workers?". The other girl voiced out audibly, her tone of voice very rude.
Wow! Why was she being rude to him, he only asked if he could get employed here? There was utterly no need for the rudeness. Didn't they see how he was dressed like a gentleman? And they were still rude to him? Well, since they wanted rudeness, he would give them rudeness. He wouldn't just coward out, he retorted,
"Hey girl, calm down, I only asked if I could get employed here as a salesperson. You could have just told me either yes or no? There was no need to raise your voice at me? You know, getting angry doesn't suit your face at all".
That statement hit the girl hard, but she pretended like she didn't feel it. Instead, she shook her head and said,
"Both of us are workers, we were employed by the owner of this store. And she doesn't need any more workers. Even if she needs one, she wants no male worker, only females".
"You should have just said so at the beginning instead of raising your voice at me". Leonard uttered, then he rolled his eyes at the both of them and departed from the food store.
Getting outside, he muttered to himself, "Failed attempt, I'll just have to locate that Crimson Alley and get employed at the so-called 'Q and R construction company'.
If only he had money, he could have just boarded a taxi that would drive him straight to the alley, but he's got no money. Now, he'll just have to ask someone for direction. A person with a mild face, a person that wouldn't be rude to him. He began glancing around, then he decided to ask a man that was carrying a backpack, the man seems to be in his late 'Thirties or early 'Forties.
After stopping the man and apologizing for halting him, the man permitted him to speak...and he spoke,
"Please, sir, I'm looking for the Crimson Alley. Do you know where it's located? Can you direct me on how to find it?".
"Hmm, definitely, I know where the Crimson Alley is located, but directing you is the problem, am ain't that good at giving directions. Why can't you just take a cab that would drive you straight to that place?". The man voiced out.
Leonard sighed, then said, "Let's not go in that direction right now, my pockets are empty of money. You see how I'm dressed, yeah, I am going for a job hunt in a construction company around that alley. I need my pockets to stop being empty of money. I would have loved to take a cab, but I can't".
"Oh! Well, I don't think I can be of help to you. I know where the Crimson Alley is located, but I suck at giving directions".
Leonard nodded his head and stated, "No prob, understood".
With that, the man departed from Leonard's presence...he'll just have to ask someone else for direction. He began glancing around again until he sighted another person that seems to be giving off a type of good vibe. It was a young guy that was dressed in dark-green hooded clothe and tracks trousers.
Leonard did the normal stuff, halted the guy, apologized for halting him, and stated the reason why he stopped him after the guy permitted him to speak.
"Do you know where the Crimson Alley is located? Can you direct me on how I'll find it?".
"Sure, I know where it's located, and I'll direct you on how you'll find it. You just have to listen to my direction closely". The guy stated.
"Sure".
With that, the guy began giving Leonard the direction and guidance he needed. The guy's direction was clear, so Leonard understood all that he was saying. By the time the guy was done explaining, Leonard felt like the Crimson Alley was just at the other side of the junction, but it's not. His head wanted to blow up of too much understanding...can you believe that?
Leonard shook hands with the guy and thanked him for the direction, and the guy uttered just two words, 'No prob', then the both of them parted ways. Leonard sauntered as he followed the guy's direction. He cornered where he needed to corner, walk straight where he needed to walk straight until he arrived at the Crimson Alley...a symbol indicated it.
Now, it's about time to locate the edifice of the 'Q and R construction company'.
