Later that evening, a cab turned into Albert's driveway and deposited him and Kyla there. His house was a large, handsome structure with a wide porch and white-buttered windows. The garden a tangle of shrubbery mattered with brightly colored plastic toys. It seemed to Kyla that the nanny Albert had told her about, took Bobby out to play earlier that day. She glanced at the BMW parked in the driveway and back at Albert.
"Remind me again why we've been hopping from cab to cab?"
"I haven't been in a driving mood lately." he smiled and reached for her hand. "Let's go inside."
Taking a deep breath, Kyla walked up the path with him. As they passed the porch, she absently admired the ornately carved woodwork on the posts. There were two doors, the outer one oak inset with beveled glass, the inner one wide open. He took out his key and opened the door for them to get in.
