"You miss me, sweetheart?"
Kyla turned to Delano behind her. He had a bottle of beer in one hand. They had moved two houses away from Michael Lou's to a quiet spot beside an abandoned trailer.
"We need to talk," she crossed her arms against her chest.
"Isn't that why I'm here?" his gaze swept over her. "You look beautiful. As usual."
"Where are the bodies?" she cut to the chase.
He cocked a brow. "What?"
"The bodies you stole from the morgue, where are they?"
"I don't know what you're going on about," he said mildly.
"Yes, you do. Quit playing dumb." her voice was sharp and laced with impatience. "The town has been thrown into a whirlwind of bitterness because of what you did. First, there was that protest yesterday, and now Michael Lou's house is on fire. We need to give them back."
