Chapter 165 - The Valley of the End

A week later, two figures stood in the imposing Valley of the End.

This place, steeped in history, was a vast and deep canyon surrounded by high cliffs of dark rock and lush vegetation. In the center, a powerful river divided the land into two opposing halves, winding with its crystal-clear waters reflecting the majestic landscape. This valley was not only known for its natural beauty but also as the site of the legendary battle between Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha, a turning point in the history of the shinobi world.

At the edge of the valley, near the enormous statues of the ancient rivals, several figures were gathered. Among them were Mito Uzumaki, accompanied by her children and her granddaughter, Tsunade. By her side, Tobirama Senju watched attentively along with his team consisting of Hiruzen Sarutobi, Homura Mitokado, Koharu Utatane, and Danzō Shimura. Katahara's group was also present, led by Kuzan and Dabi.

Mito sighed softly as she observed the scene.

—Men... they always resolve everything through confrontations —she commented with a tone of resignation.

Tsunade, full of confidence, replied enthusiastically:

—There's nothing to worry about, Grandma! There's no way Grandpa can lose, right?

Tobirama, ever pragmatic, glanced at Kuzan as he responded:

—If anything goes wrong, little one, I'm here to intervene.

At the bottom of the valley, facing each other, stood Hashirama Senju and Katahara. The latter had managed to convince Hashirama to have a friendly match, though the atmosphere around them was tense.

Hashirama broke the silence.

—Since I met you, I wondered why you always carry that staff with you. Why did you leave it with Momonosuke?

Katahara barely smiled, with a glint in his eyes.

—Maybe, if this fight intensifies, you'll find out, Hashirama —he said enigmatically.

With a swift movement, Katahara launched his first attack:

—**Katon: Dancing Fire Dragons**.

A massive burst of flames erupted from his mouth, soaring into the sky and forming enormous fire dragons that roared as they descended towards Hashirama. The First Hokage, with the calm demeanor of an experienced shinobi, responded immediately.

—**Mokuton: Birth of a Sea of Trees**.

Roots and trees sprouted from the ground, spreading like an unstoppable wave that crashed against the fire dragons, extinguishing them in an explosion of smoke and ashes. The landscape began to change, the natural forces clashed, and the intensity of the battle was comparable only to the fight Hashirama had waged against Madara in the same place.

From the top of the cliff, spectators watched in awe what seemed to be a legendary confrontation.

A Month Later.

Inside a vast dining hall in the Village of the Whirling Tides, the atmosphere was much more relaxed. Katahara sat across from Ashina Uzumaki, the village leader. They were sharing drinks, the sound of the liquid filling their cups resonating in the room as they exchanged mutual looks of respect.

Ashina, despite his advanced age, maintained an imposing presence. His long red hair, typical of the Uzumaki clan, was tied up in a high ponytail. He wore traditional samurai armor, its metal plates reflecting the light from the torches that illuminated the hall. Every movement of his radiated the wisdom and strength of an experienced warrior.

—My daughter's friends are welcomed in my village —Ashina said, raising his drink—. And even more so when they have overcome so many trials as you have, Katahara.

Katahara smiled widely, also raising his cup and clinking it with Ashina's.

—I didn't expect this journey to lead me to meet someone of your stature, Ashina. Ha! Life always holds surprises —he said before taking a deep drink.

The conversation flowed naturally. Both men shared anecdotes from past battles, reflections on war and peace, and spoke of the importance of loyalty and honor. Ashina, though stern in character, showed an unexpected warmth towards Katahara.

—Your story is impressive —Ashina commented after a while—. Few men can claim to have faced not just one, but two tailed beasts and lived to tell the tale. My clan and I consider you a valuable ally.

Katahara nodded, grateful for the Uzumaki leader's words.

—I honor your words, Ashina. Your daughter's letter was crucial for us to be well received here. But beyond the letter, I feel we have forged a bond of mutual respect that goes beyond formalities. I hope our friendship will further strengthen our clans.

Ashina raised his cup once more, with a smile on his face.

—To friendship, and to the future. May our clans continue to prosper together.

Both drank in unison, sealing a silent pact of friendship and cooperation.

Hours later, well into the night, Katahara retired to his quarters, reflecting on what he had achieved. Uzushiogakure, once a mystery, now loomed as a crucial ally in his future plans.
