After an exciting day with his friends, Fallon went to sleep early, tired from the day's events. He blew the candle out that sat on the small table beside his bed. Then, he was plunged into a horrible nightmare.
Fallon now was twenty-four years old. He walked throughout the Ashvon with a woman by his side and a baby boy in his arms.
"Here we are," Fallon said to the woman and then looked down to look at the baby. "Look Amias, this is the Ashvon."
The baby, Amias, stared at the landscape with wide eyes. Everything was so surreal and peaceful. Animals grazed on the fresh, soft grass and light blue birds danced and sang in the sky. It was impossible not to feel at peace.
Suddenly, a strong wind blew. Dark, menacing clouds covered the sky and blocked the sun. The birds were soon swept away by the roaring noise and animals darted away to seek shelter. Fallon grabbed the woman who was his wife and pulled her down into a ditch. He handed baby Amias to her and pulled himself over the ledge to see the storm.
The storm seemed to be coming from over the Stelpond forest. Then, quick as lightning, dozens of people in black armor bearing the symbol of the Nites, rode out on horses. Fallon squinted his eyes to try to look at the leader but it was too dark. However, the leader's voice carried through the plains loud and strong. "The King and Queen have fallen!" He announced to his troops. "Eddeathra is ours!" The troops cheered. Fallon racked his brain, trying to identify the leader's voice.
The wind suddenly stopped. The world disappeared. Fallon was left alone standing in pure darkness with no way to tell which way was up or down. A faint, glowing, yellow dot appeared in the distance. It slowly got brighter and brighter and started coming closer and closer. Inside the glow, Fallon thought he could make out a human figure. The figure was wearing blue and had long, brown hair. Next to her, (that's what Fallon assumed) appeared an outline of a horse and on the other side, a wolf.
With a start, Fallon woke up. He sat upright in his bed, breathing hard. Questions plagued his mind. Who was the girl? Who were those animals? And most importantly, why did the leader of the Nites seem so familiar?
