Chapter 9 - The Incredible Secret Cavaliers Club

They prepared according to the dueling laws. Staring each other in the eyes, separated by a ten meters distance, without their weapons in hands and waiting for the signal from a judge. When the flag thrown by the judge touched the ground, 41 fired the first attack, he pulled the Diamond Limbo from his belt and charged to Exoutius. With every attack, the sword would leak small chains of electricity, limiting her movements. He constantly attacked until she was cornered in a wall, out of despair, Exoutius leashed a giant earth attack. From the ground, giant rock spikes emerged all around the arena, from outside the fighting space the other cavaliers could feel the earth shaking with the attack, 41 was thrown to the other side of the arena banging his head against the glass. \\

It was the first duel class using the arena, all of the other classes took place in the gardens or in the classrooms, since the students were saints at the time there it was no problem, but now that some of them have armors, they are letting all out.\\

The giant rocks created by Exoutius looked more like miniature mountains, full of entrances and small passages. From one side she heard rocks moving and immediately reacted by shooting a fireball at it, he was not there. From the other side, she started to hear rocks moving again but instead of attacking from a distance, she prepared a smaller version of a fireball and slowly got closer to it, when she went around the corner, she saw the sword attached to what looked like his belt. Without wasting time, she fired the magic she was holding at it, exploding the small area around it. After the dust settled, she got closer and saw an ice statue about the same size as him but with a part of its body exploded, she looked at the ground and saw the sword melting on the floor, it was the last thing she saw. Without giving her a chance to react, 41 held the Diamond Limbo and, from its tip, released an incredibly large lightning attack that destroyed a distracted Exoutius almost instantly.\\

The next ones to fight were Asphela and Onami, when they entered the arena, the place started to transform into a small iron labyrinth, full of thin corridors and small corners. When the arena was ready, the two cavaliers positioned themselves in the square middle area waiting for the beginning of the duel. A firework exploded above them and Asphela quickly attacked. Onami knew that she could not stand a full frontal clash against Asphela; her attacks were powerful, fast and reckless, if she tried to defend herself against those Asphela would kill her in no time, her only chance was avoid the cavalier attacks and strike while she is distracted.\\

Onami avoid the first attack and ran to one of the alleys, Asphela past right through her and crashed against a wall, it took a while for her to get up. Asphela looked around trying to remember which way Onami went; she hears a sound coming from her left and runs towards it, getting close to the edge she slows down and looks carefully in both directions. She sees Onami turning another corner and run after her. Asphela chased her for a while, she was trying to approach her before attacking so that Onami would not be able to avoid the attack again. When she got close enough, Onami turned in another corner, Asphela, slightly angry, ran prepared to charge as soon as she turned the corner, and so she did. Without of even thinking she turned herself and like a lightning bolt she slide down the hall, before she could stop, iron spikes and scraps started to pierce her body.\\

While Onami was running from Asphela's first attack, she passed through the corridor behind the wall where the cavalier crashed on, the impact of the crash destroyed part of the wall creating a hole. Onami picked some wreckage of the hole and attached it to another wall, almost closing the way. Asphela was impaled; Onami was paralyzed, contemplating what she had done with her friend. From outside the court, all the cavaliers were looking at the fight in the edge of their sits, except for Amniela who was not a big fan of such raw violence. Asphela, in agonizing pain, released herself from the trap and fell on the floor. The plates of her armor were not penetrated, the only places where she was injured were at the joints of the armor, not many, but enough to kill. From outside the arena, 21 noticed that she was missing her right hand but none of the spikes touched her wrist, he was intrigued.\\

In a last breath effort, Asphela turned herself into lightning again and in a flash, pierced her left hand across Onami's head. The two cavaliers fell dead in the ground. 21 noticed that this time Asphela had lost her leg too. \\

They would not have elemental magic classes, Seraphim was not in the city, so all of the other students had to duel against someone during the class, after a while, Adam and 41 started to gamble at the results of the duels.

During dinner, the students were talking and eating the blue mass.\\

—You only won because I was feeling my leg a little bit today. — Laylah was talking to Tius — Didn't you saw that I let you win?\\

—I did. — Exoutius said — She only pretend to attack that rock that did Not looked like him, so that he could see an opening and kill her. Right?\\

—Yes.\\

They laughed of her.\\

—You made me lose so much money — Adam turned to their side of the table — All of you actually.\\

—Were you two betting money? — Prospounae asked.\\

—We started in your fight. — 41 explained — You earned me some good amount of bronze units. Thank you.\\

—Wait did you bet against me? — Prospounae asked Adam.\\

—Did it right. — Thysíla said.\\

—My predictions were based on your last performance at combat training. Don't blame me if you was fighting like shit.\\

—How many bets did you won? — 21 asked to 41.\\

—Oh… all of them.\\

—Wow… That's impressive. — He said and started to eat again, after a few chews realized — Did you bet against me?\\

—No… Adam bet in you, and what was left for me was bet in Sotíel. It's not my fault you lost.\\

—That fight was crazy, I can't believe you lost. — Thysíla said.\\

—Yeah, I guess I was very lucky. — 41 talked with his mouth full of food and his chest puffed.\\

From the other side of the table they could hear:\\

—Did none of you believed that I could win against 21?\\

…\\

—It doesn't matter whether we believed it or not.\\

—Of course it matters.\\

—What matters is that you did it and in a pretty cool way too. Did you knew that 21 already killed me with that invisibility? And you didn't gave a single fuck about it, could you see him?\\

—Well… when he turned invisible I saw his mana color moving in a different direction then the one he was. The replica he made had a different tone too so I decided to attack where the mana was moving to.\\

—That's so cool… I wish I could have especial eyes too. — Thysíla said to him.\\

—It was rather hard to get used to the new things I was seeing, in the beginning was like… trying to look at something behind a painted window, with a bunch of new colors in the way…\\

In the other side of the table, Onami turned to 41 and 21:\\

—Are you two training together? \\

—Yes. We have been training in the arena for the past few days. — 41 answered.\\

—Cool, Pounae and me are training together too, but not in the arena. How did you guys found an available time? When we went there, all the schedules were already filled.\\

—Some days, before the combat classes begin, Haamiah told me that I could allocate the arena to train but with all the classes, the only free time I had was during the night, so I use the arena from midnight until dawn.\\

…\\

—Midnight…? \\

—Yea.\\

…\\

—Can we train with you two? — Prospounae asked 41.\\

—You have to ask to 21. I'm kind of a tag along too.\\

He asked the same thing to 21.\\

—I guess there is no problem. It can't be worst than training alone with 41.\\

—Can I go too? — Asphela asked — When my sword is ready I'll need to train in the arena too.\\

—Fine.\\

—Do you guys see what is happening here? — When 41 spoke, everyone stayed in silence to hear what kind of shit he was going to say — We… are… Forming a secret club.\\

—Oh God — 21 said sighing.\\

—We need a name.\\

…\\

—Training club. — Prospounae suggested while eating.\\

—No… too simple. We need a name that… will leave everyone jealous, curious and wondering "What is this secret club everyone is talking about, how do I get in, I need to know".\\

—If it is a secret club, why would everyone be talking about it? — 21 said.\\

—What about… The Rock Bottom Club. — Onami started.\\

—It doesn't have nothing to do with our training. — Prospounae.\\

—It doesn't have to. — She replied.\\

—I know one — Asphela got up and stared at the wind — The Black Crows.\\

…\\

—Crows are already black.\\

…\\

She sat down. \\

—I got one. The incredible Knights Club. — Prospounae.\\

—The secret Cavaliers Club. — Asphela.\\

—The Incredible Secret Cavalier's Club. — Onami.\\

—This name is getting way too big, make an acronym. — 21 said laughing — Tisc c.\\

—All you do is criticize our ideas without giving any better. If you continue like that, I'll have to ban you from the club.\\

—If you ban me where do you plan on training? Do you want a good idea to your stupid club's name, here's one. "No Name" club… There is no club, we are just going to train together and not make friendly meetings and rituals.\\

…\\

—You're a party pooper dude… — Asphela.\\

—No… this might work — 41 interrupted her — What if the name is… The Club. It is mysterious and intriguing. Everyone will want to be part of…\\

—I think I like Tiscc more…
