Chapter 46 - XLVI: the little girl

Whatever made him give the reaction he gave must also lie in the kingdom she was headed, right?

The journey began the following day after she was forced to spend an hour with her teacher the sorcerer.

She had so many questions she wanted answered but she decided to skip them until she finds someone who was a supernatural who will perhaps have answers to why those fishes died and the dream she had.

She looked back at the palace she once left to return in the manner she did.

The plan she was given by her uncle and the sorcerer was not going to be easy.

She turned her head and closed the window of the carriage. This was a lot different from the first time she went to that kingdom.

Then she left secretly but now she was forced to leave under the watchful eyes of those around.

The news had spread around the whole capital in less than twelve hours by the Queen in order to force her husband to send the princess to their enemy to bring the prince back.

She knew the king wanted her to leave although she had no idea why he wanted to and tried to hide that fact appearing reluctant to let her go.

She naturally understood just like she heard people gossip that the king will definitely choose his son.

They also said she was filled with pride because of the way she has been treated by the king. She must have thought herself to worth more than she worth in the king's heart.

Her cousins even did her a favour by showing up so early in the morning to bid her farewell if that was really what their words meant.

The city that should be silent at this time of the day which was pretty early was busy with almost every one standing outside to see the carriage of the princess pass by as a confirmation that the king gave her up to save the life of the only heir.

She looked around the empty carriage. She appeared lonely. Her maid was kept back in the palace by guards based on her orders for the girl to be kept out of her business this time.

Aurora stepped out of the carriage to walk into the inn and she knew that she won't miss the opportunity to carry out the first part of the plan her uncle made for her.

As a national treasure that she was as the assassin trained to end the life of a very important personnel, plans were made to ensure her safety.

The news seemed to have spread beyond the capital as there were people who stood watched her.

Some were surprised that they got the opportunity to see what the well-known princess looked like and she did not disappoint the rumors of her beauty.

She was in one of her lowest mood but that did not affect the almost if not inhuman appearance she had.

However, not everyone of them respected her. Some were totally against her. She felt a sharp gaze directed at her so different from the other gazes she felt on her.

She turned and her eyes met a pair of sharp cold black eyes watching her clearly with killing intent.

She looked down and walked into the inn not even caring to take note of what the owner of those eyes looked like.

For now, her journey has been really peaceful without any mishaps. However, from here on, her life will get hunted until she dies by different people.

Those who were pleased with the fact that the king more or less has no heir and wanted the king dead will go after her life to prevent the exchange.

Those who wanted her far away from the Alpha King both humans and inhumans will all come for her life.

As soon as she stepped into the room she was given in the inn after one of the dozen of guards she was traveling with checked it for security purposes, she closed the door behind her.

She had felt the presence of someone else in the room and she readied herself for what so ever comes.

She reached for the knife she was given by her teacher which unlike every other ordinary knife, it could easily kill a supernatural.

She finally traced the presence to the corner of her room. A little girl suddenly came out of the wall she had clearly blended in with.

Completely out of her disguise, she looked so simple but she had a pair of neat eyes that looked like a bottomless neat river.

The look the girl gave her showed so much respect with a hint of a maturity that shouldn't come from a little girl that looked like she was only seven.

"What are you doing here?" she asked the little girl with her hand still secretly holding her knife.

The girl might look like a little innocent kid but she knew for sure that this girl was not that innocent.

"You look just as divinely beautiful as the prophecy claims you will be. It is no wonder the Kingdom's Beta wants you in the kingdom unharmed.

"The Alpha King will probably have his head if any harm comes to you. My name is Selene. I was assigned to ensure your safety to the kingdom and into the palace."

Aurora somehow strangely knew this girl was not lying to her so she could not bring herself to do anything wrong to the girl.

She still pulled out the knife to scare the girl if that was possible. Anyone assigned such duty had to be someone strong.

"Put the knife away. It will take a lot of willpower that might seemed as tasking as lifting a mountain for a supernatural to hurt you and a death wish for a human to try."

Aurora was sure she could believe that but she still met the girl's gaze without putting the knife away.

"I know your knife is not ordinary and it could probably force me to bleed unstoppably but I have millions of ways to avoid getting stabbed by you."
