Chapter 47 - XLVII : the king's crush

The more she stared at the girl, the more she felt like the girl looked like a harmless little bunny with her cute large brown eyes and pink pouty lips.

Her skin looked so good that her cousins in the palace will probably kill to have such a skin although it was not as good as hers.

"I am here to protect you. I heard you have a plan."

"What plan?" She asked watching the girl sure that the girl had no knowledge of their plan.

"The plan . . ." the girl told her teasingly in a manner she found strange coming from a little girl.

Still maintaining a blank expression, Aurora waited for the girl to tell her what plan she heard.

"Don't bother asking me because I only want to let you know that I will be following your plan and you should not try to shake me off."

Aurora walked to the bed and removed her long purple cape. After folding the thick long piece of cloth, she placed it on her bed and sat down on the rocking chair beside the window.

She still held her knife as alert as she could be but she was clearly not scared. She could not sense any hostility from the girl although she knew that she could not trust the girl.

"Why will your king's beta and prime minister send you to guard me to the Kingdom when I clearly tried to kill your king?"

"I guess you don't know that werewolves are very good at keeping grudges and he is willing to send one of his best tracker to find you and guard you."

"You are not a werewolf, right?"

"That is very correct, miss."

Aurora found that address very weird. This was the first time someone addressed her in that manner.

"I advice you to trust me. I will not harm you without orders and I was ordered to take you safely to the palace."

"Just for a grudge. What more do you know about me, little girl?" Aurora asked with a hint of sarcasm and disbelief.

"I know your arrival has been anticipated by everyone for centuries. I was present when the prophecy was declared.

"The king awaited your arrival for years but you never came. I guess that is all I have to tell you.

"If you want to know more, follow me to the capital and the Oracle yourself. She knows everything but I don't."

"Oracle?" Aurora has heard about the Oracle from her teacher countless times and according to the books she had read, the Oracle is a very powerful being who could have the gift of immortality if her actions pleases the moon goddess.

"Yes, the Oracle. She is very pretty. Let me tell you a secret," the girl said walking close to Aurora with an excited smile.

She sat still but the hand holding her knife tightened as she remained alert ready for whatever attack that might come to her from the cute innocent girl advancing towards her.

The girl giggled clapping her have excitedly making Aurora's brow furrow very slightly.

She did not refuse the secret the girl wanted to tell her.

"I should not be telling you this but it is a secret I have kept sealed in this little mouth of mine. I have to let it out especially to you. I guess you deserve to know."

Aurora paused her lips with her gaze fixed on the little girl's frame that was only a few inches away from her.

Why did she deserve to know a secret what ever the secret was it had something to do with the land of the immortals?

"The Alpha had strong affections towards the Oracle. She turned him down because he had a mate and I don't think he got over the rejection. Hahaha," the girl appeared to be enjoying this secret telling session so much.

"What should I do with the secret when the king is definitely going to kill me?" Aurora asked herself aloud enough for the girl to hear.

"This secret might save your life or make the king angry enough to kill you. He acts all powerful around everyone including the Oracle.

"His wolf, the Alpha trusts the Oracle since she is the mouth piece of the moon goddess and the king, the human has residual feelings for her so she might be able to save you from both of them when the time comes."

"Why will the Oracle be willing to help me?"

"Let me tell you something else to make you believe. The Oracle emphasized the importance of this mission to be before I left.

"She wants you to arrive in the palace before the king unharmed. Doesn't that makes you aware of how much she wants you to survive?"

"You are mistaking. Perhaps she likes the king as well and wants to punish for causing harm to her man," Aurora replied easily.

She knew very well that the moment she steps into that kingdom, she could trust no one and her death was definite.

Her uncle had told her that the city was now well guarded because she had come into their kingdom and stabbed their king.

The security tired was beyond any that someone could easily break through so she definitely had no one who will be strong enough to safe her from their den.

The moment she steps through the gates, she is to seal up her hope and toss it away.

The security was so tight that almost no one could slip in but it will be easy for her to enter due to her identity.

The king gave an order that no one should hurt and punish for any offender was beyond any known before times.

Outside the city walls was the only place anyone could hurt her easily with only perhaps a death penalty given.

That was perhaps the reason why the girl was here to protect her and help her get into the city safely.

She stared at the girl who did not shy away from her gaze and returned it boldly.

"Since you are not a werewolf, what are you?"

"I don't know what to call myself. The Alpha united all supernaturals which is something impossible to accomplish. . .
