Few miles out of the village they stayed in overnight, the prince caught up with them. He had his soldiers surround them.
Aurora felt this was all weird she could not remember offending anyone. Among the soldiers, a man on his horse rode towards them and entered the circle. She immediately recognize him as her cousin who she had not seen in a while.
She was sincerely very happy to him and she would have thrown her hand around him and hugged him if she wasn't in a disguise. He was younger than her but she was closer to him growing up than with her cousin sisters.
He looked just like the imposition done by her teacher but he was more handsome. She felt he had grown up to be a very good looking youth. Then, he liked to stick close to her despite how hard she was trying to lock people out of her life due to her trauma.
He was a very friendly and jovial child with a lot of laughter and he always wanted to appear strong because he knew he was going to be king one day.
He always wore a more matured expression when he was among other people because he wanted to become a strong king like his father. No matter how hurt he got he still tried to appear strong.
He only acted spoilt around her. She was like his safe haven one he could not have with his mother or father who had so many expectations of him wanting him to break all the records of the past princes including her elder brother in both physically and mentally activities.
Even as a small child he already knew the weight of expectations of everyone.
His mother thought of him as her only foot stone in the palace with other women threatening her existence so he could only be what they wanted him to be.
Around Aurora, he could pout when he felt hurt and he could smile and play around with the things his mother had banned him from playing with.
His mother was totally against it because of who everyone said Aurora was and she did not want her son to get tainted by her bad luck but the luck the boy had was that his father, the king was in support of it and he even encouraged it. He was a very happy child and his presence made her happy.
It all came to an end when he fell sick. The seer said he was under a spell and a curse. His mother did not believe the seer especially when the seer asked him to leave the capital to border of the kingdom.
His mother feared that it was a set up to kill her child on the way. His mother also blamed Aurora for her son's misfortune but it was a rumour her uncle immediately stopped. Although a few people who are bold enough still talk about it behind closed doors. She seem to have more stories than the Queen and she has added to those stories by running away from the palace.
The prince was then sent away to the border. She missed him but she soon forgot about him when Helen arrived.
Helen was once a gloomy and sad child with a lot of nightmares and fears just like her but she helped the little girl find herself in the midst of the darkness and when she overcame the hurt and trauma, Helen became a happy child.
Prince Viktor felt very uncomfortable being stared at in a manner that showed that the stranger before him in the black hood on the horse was someone familiar and the sympathy mixed with joy in the person's unique green eyes that felt very familiar to him made him feel sad and happy at the same time.
"Drop all your weapons," the prince ordered his voice sounding less firm than he wanted it to sound.
Aurora did not hesitate to unbuckle her sword belt and dropped the sword she got from her uncle a couple of years ago to the floor in front of her horse.
The prince was surprised since he expected them to resist that was why he had his men aim their arrows at them. The smaller person removed he dagger and dropped it on the floor beside the expensive looking sword that belonged to the other person.
He cleared his throat with a majestic aura as he could not help but smile inwatdly telling himself that it was all because they were scared of him. "Remove your hood and dismount," he gave them another ordered feeling slightly full of himself.
They obeyed starting from the taller Traveller who seem to be the person in charge. The beautifully handsome face that greeted him when the person pulled back the hood got him holding his breath.
Why does this young man look a lot more like a woman? He frowned and swallowed down the lumps that began forming when he felt the person looked too familiar to be a stranger. The crown of gold hair that glittered like pour gold under the gentle morning sun was just too familiar.
He tried hard to remember but he could not as he watched the person dismount with so much elegance and fluidity that baffled him and made him observe that this person was definitely not just a normal person. This elegance portrayed is more than just anyone could easily mimick without having to having to have learnt it from young.
He found himself jumping down with ease from his horse and walk up to the familiar stranger without the any caution. His subconscious mind believed this person will never hurt him. He picked the sword from the ground and lifted it while maintaining eye contact with the taller stranger.
He might not recognize this stranger no matter how hard he tried but he immediately recognized the sword. The sword belonged to his father. He always wanted to own it when he grew up as a kid. Such a thing is hard for him to forget.
Aurora knew he had recognize the sword and she began building up stories on her mind. What excuse or lie could she tell successful?
