Chapter 20 - XX

Aurora knew he had recognize the sword and she began building up stories on her mind. What excuse or lie could she telul successful?

"How . . . How do you have this?" He asked watching carefully to see he could actually recognize the stranger. It won't be strange if he could not since he left the capital to earlier.

"It was a gift from the king," Aurora replied confidently, he had been away from the palace long enough for her to tell him things he will easily believe.

"The king, my father?" He frowned unwilling to believe the very person who pulled a stunt and deceived the city guards with his identity.

"Yes," Aurora replied even more confidently since it looked like she was making progress with her deception.

Prince Viktor looked around with an unconvinced expression as he placed the sword Back on the floor. "Bound them," he ordered his men with a displeased expression when it occurred to him that the person might be using the fact that he has not been home for a while to lie to him knowing fully well that he might not actually be able to discern the truth from lies.

His soldiers did as they were ordered and bound Aurora and Helen with ropes tightly. Aurora did not put up a fight as she let them take them away while she planned on how to escape it all early enough to make it to her destination on time.

The camp was not as bad as she thought it will be. It was actually a place a few kids could live in with very tall wall and gate and a lot of other permanent structures. It was obvious her uncle put in a lot of effort so his son would be comfortable and safe.

A few young boys were playing around and unlike before during her grandfather reign that it used to be prohibited for women to be in the camp, there were a few women in this camp. It seems she has actually being bothered by how well her cousin was living left alone in the camp away from his mother and siblings and every one he loved for no reason.

She was dragged into a large dungeon. She was very displeased to stay in the dirty place so she refused to go in. From where she stood, she could see the wetness of the floor and perceive the unpleasant smell of damp that she inhaled. It was not going to be a good place for her to stay at all.

She might have been a very tough princess but she hates being in a smelly dirty place. She refused to move any further at the steps. The horrible smell was more than just the smell of dampness rather it got worse like something was getting spoilt and rotten in it. She did not want to come to acceptance that it could actually be the smell of rotten flesh.

"I am not going any further," she told them looking back at Helen as she gave her a signal not to move further. Helen might be just a maid but as the princess' maid she has not being subjected to being in such filthy place.

The guards on either side tried dragging her forward because she was also blocking the part they would have let Helen through so they could have her time and perhaps beat her into submission.

"I want to talk to the prince," she said with a serious frown.

She has always known that from her trainings, she was stronger than any woman around but stronger than two soldiers? She has never really tried that out since as a princess, she is expected to be careful around the male especially a male of a very low class so being able to withstand their drags, pulls and pushes, she was not aware of how she could do them all with those many soldiers.

She remained unmoving. "Tie me outside or something but I am definitely not going down there," she said very displeased with their mistreatment.

"The prince is too busy to talk to you at this moment," one of the soldiers replied her with disdain. They were actually doing their job at ease before she decided to make them do more by being resistant.

"I must speak to the prince or else I won't go further," she told them firmly while daring them to make her go in fully since she discovered that she could actually withstand all their attempt to make her go down.

"What do you think you are?" another soldier asked irritated. "Why are you stopping here? Once the prince is done with what he is doing, he will have time for you. For now, you will have to wait for him in there," he continued impatiently.

"Yeah, that is right. We are also busy. Do not waste our time," the other soldier added.

"Tell, the prince I have a message from princess Aurora," Aurora had to order them knowing fully well that she could use her earlier plan by telling them she was a close subordinate of the king or they won't believe her since she does not have any evidence to proof so the truth was the only thing left since it could set her free and she had enough evidence to back it up.

The soldiers looked at themselves with puzzled expression. They might not be living in the capital but they have heard enough stories about the very beautiful ill luck princess who was the secret reason the prince got sent to the border.

"Fine," one of the soldiers agreed since he has over heard the prince scold some soldiers who were gossiping about the princess secretly. The prince had said he knows the princess well enough to know all those rumors were false.

When the message got to Prince Viktor, he could not help but frown. How was this young man connected to his very beautiful cousin? Was he her fiancé? No, that could not be, her fiancé is a duke.
