As he moved to the side a group of kobalts all attacked him. Alex was able to dodge all of them but one. A kobalt with short sword managed to cut him on his leg.
Luckily it wasn't a deep wound before he could even pay any attention to it, Alex was attack with another barrage of arrows. Seeing the incoming arrows he suddenly lunged forward and stabbed in blade into one of the kobalts.
He used all his strength to quickly lift up the body of the kobalt. The arrows came down on him but he was protected. The body of the kobalt took some of the arrows. He used it as a meat shield.
All the kobalts near him were struck by arrows as well, they all fell to the ground. He had a little room to breath, just as he was about to move from his position he saw the crimson kobalt stand up again.
He was shocked because he was sure he stabbed it in it's heart. It's form was shaky but still managed to stand up straight. It had green glow in one of it's hands and pressed on it's chest.
Alex could see the wound getting smaller and smaller before vanishing. He was surprised when he saw that, he wanted to do something but was attacked by a barrage of arrows again.
Alex rolled back barely dodging that attack just as he got up he was assaulted by heat. He felt a burning pain from his right side, Alex quickly turned around and saw it.
Headed right for his side was a sheet of fire. Seeing that he wanted to avoid it, but the fire was too close. Realising that he brought his arm to his face.
Alex's skin turned red as the flames approached and he felt unbearable amounts of pain. The flames didn't last long and any kobolds near instantly died when the flame hit.
Alex soon brought his hands down although shakily. He could still feel the pain and his body wouldn't stop shaking. He had never experienced that before.
Sure knives and bullets but never burning, his felt worse pain before but he never imagined when he came to this world one of the first pains he would experience was being burnt.
Unfortunately he didn't have the time to process all of what just happened. As he was in a state of shock he was brought back to senses a shap pain on his thigh.
Alex looked to his thigh but saw nothing as he was distracted again he felt another pain by his shoulder. He saw something falling and looked to the ground and saw a stone.
As he looked up he saw a barrage of stones headed for him. He looked around and realised he didn't have anywhere to go. He did the only thing he could, he covered his head and waited for the attack to reach him.
When the attack arrived the only he felt was pain and given that his body was still recovering from the burn he only felt more pain.
When the attack finished his body was bloody and still had smoke coming from it. When the attack finished and the crimson kobold saw him still standing, it lift it's arms and pointed it's palms in his direction.
Out of it's palms came more flames, Alex seeing that gritted his teeth. He knew he could not take that attack on again. He looked to the ground again hopeing to find something to use.
And he saw it a dead kobold, he rolled towards it and lifted it up. He smelled grilled meat, soon his hands started to get hot. It felt like was burning luckily that didn't last long.
Alex could feel the heat lessen and the pain on his hands lessen until it was gone. He slowly lowered the corpse of the kobold before completely dropping it.
Without saying anything Alex dropped the corpse of the kobold and rushed at the crimson scaled kobold. The crimson scaled kobold seemed shocked by the but quickly turned serious and stretched out it's hands.
From a cold aura emerged shrouding Alex within. As soon as aura touched him, he felt a bone chilling cold. It was like he stepped onto the Artic or went outside in winter without any clouths on.
The cold froze his bones and one could see frost appearing on his eyebrows and hair. Alex could feel himself stiffen slightly. He tried to ignore it and only focussed on his objective.
He ignored the cold feeling in his body and held his dagger tighter. When he got close enough he struck with his dagger aiming for the creative's neck.
The blade struck the creature and it went straight through It, cutting off the kobold's head. Once the kobold leader died the rest of kobolds retreated.
He saw them leaving and wanted to chase after them but chose not to. To be more honest he couldn't, when he tried to move he fell on one knee.
Alex never thought that dealing with a sorcerer would be this difficult. He could tell he didn't have much stamina left, even Alex was starting to feel powerless. He sat down for he could no longer stand.
Level up the profession Ranger!
Alex said quietly.
"The Profession Ranger is now Level 6."
"You have now reached Rank 2!"
"Received 1 Free Attribute Point, 1 Skill Point and one Weapon Point."
Alex was suprised when he saw the information. He didn't know the fundamental difference between Rank 1 and Rank 2 but he did feel a little stronger.
The feeling almost made him forget that he was still injured. Remembering he was still burnt he brought right hand to his felt, he remembered the scene with the kobold healing itself.
When he pictured that scene he said lightly 'cure wounds he wasn't sure if it would work or how his healing ability worked. Suddenly there was burst of light in his palm, the green light washed of his burn marks and they were fading slowly but surely.
