Yan Rumei's soul seem to have left her body after she got out of the shower.
[That was the best f*cking shower I have ever had. That felt like all my impurities were washed away by the water from the legendary fountain of youth!]
Right now, Yan Rumei is even suspecting if rich people have different tap water than normal people. If their tap water came straight from a 5-star distilling company.
She shook her head to wake herself up from her thoughts.
It was already 45 minutes to 6 PM, so she needed to hurry up and get ready.
She walked towards the bathroom mirror and opened the drawer underneath to look for a hairdryer.

Whenever Yan Rumei opened each drawer, there seem to be a small string slowly pulling her jaw down on every drawer she pulls.
[What kind of penthouse is this? Even the interior designs of the drawers are pretty. There's also a bunch of bathroom necessities neatly stored in each of them.
After opening about 5 drawers, Yan Rumei finally found a wireless hairdryer.
[Ah, whatever. I can just check all these details later. Well, that is, if this entire event is really true and if the meeting with mom's new husband will go well.]
She dried her waist-long hair and also applied a moisturizer she found on one of the drawers on her face.
She then went to the walk-in closet and voila!
[Some clothes?! Are you kidding me?! This is like an entire corner of a luxurious department store!]
There are about 15 pairs of shoes, 10 bags, an entire glass cabinet of jewelry and accessories, a special corner of a vanity table full of cosmetics and makeup, and a bunch of clothes from sleepwear, casual, formal, and even party dresses.
She noticed that every piece she lay her eyes on are expensive to luxurious brands. There's Adidas, Nike, Dr. Martens, Balenciaga, Chanel, Gucci, Dior, Burberry, Saint Laurent, Celine, Louis Vuitton, and many more.
[Mom, are you sure it's okay to buy me all these? Why does it seem like you've already adapted to the rich life? Aren't you worried that your husband would feel unhappy about all this spending?]
Although Yan Rumei was shocked and quite worried, she also felt excited.
I mean… Which girl doesn't feel excited even with just doing some window shopping?
She has also tried expensive dresses before you know. But of course, she only tried them and never bought any of them. She has more important things to spend her measly income on.
Originally, Yan Rumei only wanted to have a simple shower at her apartment and just change to another work clothes. Because her work clothes are the best she can find for formal occasions, parties, and even on dates.
She usually just wears the traditional straight cut black pants and a black blazer on top of some decent blouse.
[As this may be the first and last time this will happen, might as well try on a pretty look.]
She picked a cream-colored short-sleeved dress. It has black vertical stripes and a black drawstring on the waist. When she put it on, she noticed that it also has pockets.
[Hmm, convenient. Very nice.]
One must also take note that Yan Rumei will never want to wear any clothes that have horizontal stripe lines because it will make her look wider than usual. Vertical or V stripes are best. They will make her seem taller or accentuate her almost non-existent figure.
She also put on cream-colored open-toed t-strap shoes.
When she looked in the mirror, her eyes grew wide because she almost couldn't recognize herself.
[Whitwew!] She internally whistled at herself.
[Daaaamn gurl, where are we going?]
She grabbed the lowest key-looking bag and headed back to the bathroom. She put on some lotion on her legs. Then she put back on her old watch and earrings, which she placed on the countertop earlier before taking a shower.
She didn't want to touch any of the jewelry in the cabinet. She didn't even go near it!
Everything still feels so weird for her. [If things don't go well after the meeting, who knows if they will frame me and say I stole something.]
And for makeup? Forget about it. She never wanted to put on any on her face ever since she had a crazy breakout a few years ago.
After feeling satisfied with how she looked, she then proceeded to go to the bedroom. She grabbed a few items from her old bag and put them in the bag she just grabbed from the closet.

When Yan Rumei descended the stairs, Bodyguard Bo followed her with his eyes and his eyelashes slightly fluttered. Nonetheless, there was no other reaction.
On the other hand, Assistant Li is nowhere to be found.
[Finally, a break for my ears and brain. Coupled by the shocking things I did at work and unbelievable information that Assistant Li told me today, I feel I'm really going to have a stroke.]
"Shall we head down to meet my mom and your boss, Mr. Bo?" asked Yan Rumei when she finally reached the 1st floor (technically 35th but 1st on her penthouse haha).
Bodyguard Bo raised his right eyebrow.
[If Assistant Li found out that the Miss didn't even ask why he isn't here, where did he go, or what he's doing, his heart might break.]
He still remembers how Assistant Li was so worried earlier when he received a call from one of the teams that are handling another matter for Miss.
There seems to be a slight delay in delivery for something that is meant for Miss.
He didn't want to leave the Miss right now because he still has a lot of things he wanted to tell her. And also, to personally escort her to her parents.
But alas, Assistant Li wanted every work or project related to Miss to be perfect or at least close to perfect. So, he reluctantly left and even instructed him to pacify Miss because of his absence and tell her that he promises to come back as soon as possible.
[Heh.] Bodyguard Bo chuckled internally.
Also, he noticed that Miss just called her Mister and not Bodyguard.
[Why is Miss so polite even to me? To be honest, I've already prepared for the worst-case scenario about this new boss that I will be serving. I thought that she wouldn't be able to stop herself from immediately spending money as soon as she knew that she will be a part of the Gu family. I also somehow envisioned her to be like those crazy and arrogant people who would easily lose themselves for their newfound power. But now, I feel that working for her is the best assignment they've given me ever since I was hired. But this won't do...]
"Miss, you can just call me Bodyguard Bo, or Bodyguard, or Bo. There's no need to be so formal to a mere bodyguard."
