Chapter 3 - The Queen

It had been more than two years since the last time Theo saw Queen Marie. She hadn't aged at all since then. As Theo and the others walked onto the field, the queen watched with a benign smile while holding hands with King William across their chairs.

Queen Marie reminded Theo of an older version of Charlotte. Their features were almost carbon copies of each other's, except for a few that Charlotte inherited from her father.

What Theo didn't understand was that why would someone so gentle in appearance want to spectate such a gruesome tournament that could result in people's deaths at any moment, but Adelyn had taught him that one's appearance did great wonders in hiding their cold blood.

There were only two judges on the field this time, as there were only going to be two duels. Theo walked over to his designated field signaled by the guard with Robert.

The crowd showed no intention of quieting down.
