The two crossed their blades and said their rites. Theo had never seen Simon fight seriously before, so he had no idea what he was about to go up against.
The longsword was a mix between the lance and the broadsword, inheriting the range from the former and versatility from the latter. Theo had experienced fighting with both, so he figured it wouldn't be much different.
Simon gripped the hilt of his sword and ceremonially lowered it in front of him while pointing the blade upward at the sky as if he was posing for a painting. It was a lot cooler than what Theo could do with his dagger.
Theo didn't want to be the first one to strike, so he waited. Simon, on the other hand, didn't seem to mind the order. He raised his sword up and swung it straight down in a quick and stiff motion.
