"Hey, Charlotte. Hey, Theodore," Bella said after she walked out of the secret hallway behind the bookshelves.
Theo's mind was gone. He no longer had the smallest clue about what was going on. Every second that went on was a testament to his sanity.
King William's smirk was also not helping.
"Do you know them, Theo?" Charlotte asked.
"Y-Yeah. They are my friends. Bella is my maid, and Chase is her brother… right?"
Theo looked around the room looking for reassurance that never came.
Charlotte shot up from her seat.
"No, you didn't…" she turned to the king, "Father, did you tell them to do this?"
Theo had seen angry Charlotte before. He was glad that he was not on the receiving end.
King William feigned a clueless expression and shrugged.
"They asked me to do it, and I saw no reason against it," he said.
