With the incoming unified metallic footsteps coming down the hallway, a squad of guards jogged up to the king's office. They were led by a tall man whose armor was more decorated than the castle itself. Theo couldn't see his face through the visor on his helmet.
After entering the room, the guards knelt down at the same time.
"Your Majesty!" They greeted.
The king nodded and waved them to stand up. Their leader flipped his visor up.
"What is going on, Your Majesty? Are they Carter's men?" He asked.
"Yes. This is, or was, their coup, but as you can see, he is dead on the ground right now," King William said while pointing at the bodies on the floor.
"That's a relief."
"Indeed. Now, I wish to speak to these guests of mine privately, can you clean up those bodies?" The king asked.
"Of course."
The knight signaled at the soldiers behind him, and they got to work. Trails of blood drew onto the floor as the lifeless bodies were dragged by their feet out of the room.
