"Do I really have to be here?", scanning the surrounding, the girl made her way into a condominium with Dylan walking by her side.
"It would be so rude of you to turn his invitation down", today, it was Alex's birthday. He invited his boyfriend for tonight's party and of course how could he forget the professor. Even if he hadn't conversed with Alex about giving her the necklace, he found the girl really amusing to forget about. Also, she was his boyfriend's only friend.
Dylan had a group of friends in Bachelors. After completing their degrees, they all left for different states, jobs, and studies in different domains. The day he stepped into Master's class, he became friends with Scarlett. He still remembered how all the students laughed when the professor walked into the class. She was 20 years old back then. A few more months were left for her to turn 21. The reason why everybody in the lecture hall chuckled up was that she bumped into the back of their teacher while walking through the door.
The teacher had just arrived. While he entered the class, greeting the new students, the girl was on her phone, checking her schedule if it was the right room. All the students thought she was a freshman year student. When the teacher turned around and looked at her, she was also assumed a fresh student of Bachelors by him.
Before he could tell the girl to walk out as she had entered the wrong class, the professor mumbled a small apology for not watching her steps and walked over to an empty seat next to a boy in the last row. As she was mistaken for a fresh year student by everyone, they all turned their heads and continued staring at the girl, including the teacher as well.
"Do I appear a blue alien to you all with three eyes, four arms, the tail wagging?", realizing the continuous stares eyes at her, she asked as genuinely as if she really looked as per the appearance she just described.
"Oh, was I supposed to introduce myself? I thought the shit was left behind in the high school though I didn't attend the second year of", when she saw the teacher was also giving her a stupefied gaze, she raised from the seat.
"Hello, I'm Scarlett Blake. Please take good care of...f*ck, I've never done this shit. You all really don't have to take care of me. My kneecaps drive smoothly into groin", at that some students abruptly swiveled their heads, waiting for their teacher reaction only to see the teacher's hand subconsciously moving to his groin, oh, he had been hit there by none other but his beloved wife who misunderstood him for one of those roughish drifters that were chasing her through the streets.
He was mistaken as one of those when he approached the girl in the street who drove her knee into his groin but he was glad he was kneecapped by his wife back then. Though it was painful, the pain was worth it. Now, listening to the girl, his mind replayed the old yet gold memory. The class started laughing when they saw their teacher's actions at the girl's words.
"Miss Blake, my apologies I didn't recognize you. We are honored to have you in our program", snapping into the present by students' light chuckles, the teacher clearer his throat.
Before coming to the lecture hall, he was informed that a scientist, a young scientist, the pride of their country, Scarlett Blake, would join the master's classes. The girl certainly looked familiar but when the hair would grow grey, the memory would become an old cassette tape from the seventies, holding limited capacity.
"All cool, Mr. Carl. I hope I'm gonna learn new things here", when she was scanning the schedule, she read the name of the lecture who would be delivering the first lecture.
"Well, we hope to learn from you, professor", she smiled in response and sat back.
"You're so cool. Walking into an all-boys class, scaring the shit out of everyone. I'm impressed", the boy who was sitting next to her exclaimed.
"Buttering me up won't work. I'm more into hot stuff than pretty, cute things", eyeing the boy, the girl put her phone on silent and looked at the front. With that messy hairstyle and buttoned-up shirt, he looked cute.
"Good because I'm also into dicks instead of boobs", hearing that, the girl broke out into humorous laughter. She didn't know what part of his sentence was funny. Perhaps, there was nothing funny in his words but himself. The professor didn't admit it on his face but the way he responded back at her was in fact cooler than her.
"I'm Dylan", the boy reached his hand out, expecting to be friends with the hell of a girl.
"Scarlett", the professor took his hand. And that was how their friendship started.
"Also, this is going to be your last party before you travel in time", well, yes, they talked it out. Tomorrow, they would send the girl in the past so that she could pop back before their exams started.
"Stop making it look like I'm spending the last minutes of my life with you", ringing the doorbell, the girl tucked some strands, that were falling over her face because of the air blowing, behind her air. How she wished she had chosen a bun.
"Because if these are my last minutes, I'm already feeling shit for wasting them with you", slipping his hands inside the pockets, the boy chuckled.
"Come on, I'm not that bad to spend your remaining time with", the professor did an eye roll at his cheesy remark.
"I'd rather find a hot guy in a club. F*ck the age. I don't wanna die a virgin."
Just as the words rolled off her tongue, the door was pulled open and there was standing Edric Kent.
Did they come to the wrong house?
