He looked into the sky for the last time, hopeful.
"Leave us alone, and you will never hear from us again."
Yet, thunder cracked and purple lightning fell.
The Heavenly Court was enraged, since the Great Path which it protected was being directly spoken to by some random cultivator of a lesser world.
Struck by purple lightning, one of the highest order mortal lightnings, he did not flinch.
Instead, he closed his eyes and let out a breath, "If that is what it must be…"
The earth rumbled and the sky began to fall as the void trembled.
The sounds of a gate opening made the thunder sound like a squeak.
The rush of wind from the open gate made the forming hurricanes seem like a breeze.
The power of the Endless Path rippled.
Laws appeared all around him.
Countless of them.
Abandoned and called here by those others.
Being like himself.
In the Endless Path, he saw the reflection of himself in the infinite void.
A blood stained tyrant whose height reached the clouds from the bodies piled beneath.
He smiled gently.
"I am Tenki Shi," Reaching out his hand to those laws gathered around his tone took a turn from gentility to coldness, "Who here is willing?"
Heavenly Death.
He did not use his spoken name for a single reason.
The question was clear.
Who here would fight against the sky?
Who here would be willing to be erased if they failed?
Those laws rushed forward into him.
Ten.
Twenty.
Thirty….
The five hundred and eleven forgotten laws.
Five-hundred and eleven.
That was the number of laws that appeared in the sky as runes, spanning several leagues in all directions just to be able to manifest.
His eyes shone with deadly light.
His words began where they'd left off, "...then so be it."
Whoosh.
Neither powerful nor weak.
Neither fast nor slow.
Neither terrifying nor awe inspiring.
It was raw, unaltered power.
That general who stood before him frowned.
"I can't sense his cultivation anymore." Her brows furrowed and she took a step back.
She prepared hundreds of arrays in a breath, to protect herself.
Yet, what she expected did not come.
—
Crowded.
His Inner Sea was filled to the brim with laws which were about to push out in a moment if not careful and cause an explosion.
It was clear why whilst genius' could take in all five hundred and eleven laws of the Endless Path, yet they did not.
They would explode.
Directly, and without question.
However, due to how incredibly weak they were, he did not die instantly.
And in that split second, his Primordial Tyrant Law which was at the peak, began to absorb them, a process made easier by their compliance.
Abandoned by everyone and left alone in the void, they didn't want to continue living in such a wretched manner.
Becoming a part of this being, which they had chosen, was not such a bad thing.
Not at all.
The more he absorbed, the more runic symbols were carved into the cauldron which had grown several times in size in the blink of an eye.
Yet, the laws could not stay in this world for long without being incorporated, and the Great Path was calling them back, demanding that they return at once.
Even the peering gaze of the Endless Path had begun to take note of such a greedy mortal who dared try and devour so many laws at once.
Yet, the laws refused.
They would not move.
Never.
Never again into the dark.
He let out a bloodcurdling, agonized scream, "AGHHH!!!"
Something came approaching him at lightning speed!
Thousands of dead beneath him, a pearl began to rise up from the ground devouring the countless souls!
"Ten Thousand Soul Pearl…!" He let out a devilish roar and dove down.
The Ten Thousand Soul Pearl which had just indulge itself on so many didn't dodge in time, and was directly caught by his vice-like grip and then devoured.
Yet, the little pearl was not panicked at all!
The power of those ten thousand souls instead came to bear down upon him!
However, within his Inner Sea, the raw power of the five hundred, eleven laws, it was suppressed and rather began getting devoured at a terrifying speed!
His veins turned golden and his skin shone like moonlight!
Every orifice of his body had light beginning to burst out from the cracks!
Azure light engulfed him!
—
"The Ten Thousand Soul Pearl!" Vienna appeared from a cut in space, his face turning sour instantly, "Damn it!"
His brutal hand rushed down, seeking to choke the pearl out of Shou Xin's Inner Sea, however another power stepped in the way!
"It is fate then!" Wo Jie roared with voracious laughter, noticeably fewer people in his fleet and a crazed look in his eye, "It is for the best that neither of us should get this treasure, now die for me, vandal!"
"I am a god, damn it!" Vienna's skin turned rosy read and blood surged up from the earth to meet Wo Jie's attack.
—
The world was thrown into turmoil by the battling.
Yet, the young man in question was completely separated from it all.
His cultivation soared, and his mind was sucked away, appearing upon the last step.
He stared at the gate with a bemused expression, his mind numbing down to the point where even the hatred and love was gone.
Sacrificed in the pursuit of power.
However, he did not feel any pity for it, he didn't feel a damned thing at all, his soul chained down.
"If being a monster is what you want," He reached out grabbing the gate, his monstrous strength directly shattering the wall, "Then it is a monster you will never get."
He refused.
—
Vast.
Incomparably vast.
This was all Shu Qi could think as he sensed the fluctuation of power coming from the child in the sky who had just broken through the Law Realm.
She could no longer sense his cultivation.
Standing there, she did not feel that it was a human she stood before, but a Primordial Beast.
Something that saw her not as a human, but as prey or some sort of toy.
Almost as though he'd deviated whilst breaking through, yet it could not be for his eyes were still intelligent, if not even more so than before.
The one who stood in front of her was no longer the boy she'd come to get.
It was a monster.
Those thousands below assured her of this fact.
With the son of the Southern Hallmaster, and the Chaotic Sword Deity battling it out to the death, she had no place to be here.
Directly stepping back into an open teleportation gate, she vanished, dead set on getting the information back to the Exiled Court.
—
He felt the strength coursing through his veins, "...How dull."
Still able to remember when he wished to be a master, he couldn't help but feel a tinge of regret.
Yet, it was quickly thrown aside.
Instead, he looked at those figures battling, his disdainful gaze evident.
He flinched due to the sudden pain in his mind.
