Chapter 3 - Discovered

- Timeskip(1 month later) -

Life's been busy during the past month I came here. Truth be told, it's pretty boring. All I do is eat, practice my moves and sleep, but I've come a long way since the last month. I've been able to successfully trap a rabbit under my paws for three consecutive times and I feel I am ready for the big game, a deer, but I don't wanna die yet. I've even gotten ember down. Before immediately it touched the wall, it went out, but now it is able to stain the wall at least a very dark shade of black. I mean if you touch it to scrub it off the wall with your hands, you have to take a minute to wash the black soot off. It's a big improvement if you ask me, considering the fact that ember is a weak move, but I still can't use it in battles. Ahh~ ,such is the life of Sam.

I've decided to scout the hidden stone. Why, you ask? It's because I feel I would be better in the land of fire, so I really need to figure out the directions....uhhh this is going to be a pain.

I set off once it's dusk, my fur can blend in better at this time of day. I began running to my destination, yup you heard it right, I'm running~. I reach the village in good time, well as good as I'll ever be. I see the gate from my hiding spot, and I'll be a fool if I just waltz right up to them, so I start moving around the village. I stay a safe distance not to be noticed and see some hiding spots in case a guard comes but I forgot something even if I find a way in, whose going to direct a fox–a nine tailed fox for that matter. I should really have thought this through. Since I see no point in staying here anymore, I should go back.........well I'll leave after enjoying the scenery.

'Well the village is pretty well off from what I can see from outside and the security is lax. I was expecting that before you enter the hidden stone you must show your entire family tree before you are allowed in. Guess I was wrong. At least even if I couldn't find my way to the hidden leaf at least the change of locations is welcome. Who knows maybe I'll overhear them talking one day and find my direction to the hidden leaf but now it's time to leave'. I turn around and after checking that no one will see me, I start sprinting to the cave I call home.

Watch guard POV:

'Man is guard duty annoying. Why do I have to guard this place, it's not like anything would happen. I mean who would be an idiot to mess with the Hidden Stone when the Tsuchikage is here. That person must either be dumb, stupid or dumb'. I take my place on the wall then I notice something out of place it was a large fox. 'Well just my luck, now I have to go chase this animal away...why me~'. I was about to leap off from my location when the fox turned and ran. I was surprised.....no not surprised, I was shocked because the fox had not one tail but nine. I tried to alert the others but decided not to as they won't believe me. ' I'll bring my camera next time'.

I've been guarding here for three days but no fox. I was starting to give up and thought what I saw that day was an illusion but perseverance pays off. On the third day at dusk I noticed it creeping towards the village, it was very difficult to see but it was there. 'It's real, but how come no one noticed it at all that time? Meh.... I'll bring it up after I get my pictures'. While the fox found a suitable location to hide, I crept around it, suppressing my chakra and reducing the noise my steps produced. I made sure my camera would not make any noise while I found a spot to take a few pictures. I made sure to highlight the tails. 'They really were nine' I thought to myself in disbelief. 'I have to show this to Tsuchikage-sama'. I waited until the fox left before heading to the Tsuchikage's office.

I printed out the pictures before heading over. I stopped at the door, knocked and said "Tsuchikage-sama, I have something urgent to report". "Come in" the voice said. I entered and explained the situation to the other side and showed the pictures to further my claim. "I understand. I'll have squads track down this fox and see if it's dangerous or it means harm." The Tsuchikage looked at me and said "You've done well. You can take a break, I'll reward you for your efforts. You may leave." I was elated but I tried not to show it. "Thank you sama." I kept an impassive face and left the office.

Tsuchikage POV:

'To think something like this exists. A mini–kyuubi......... Well let's see whether you are friend or foe.'
