Chapter 42 - Chapter 42

"Okay, I thought it was a surprise. Was it like a romantic dinner?" inquired Grace.

Sean seemed to swallow his saliva with difficulty. How could he not have imagined that Grace would wait expectantly for the surprise, but Nicholas did not surprise her. Then Grace would be angry, and Nicholas would scold her.

Sean quickly approached Grace, sat down beside Grace and closed the book Grace was reading. It was an ancient book of literature, and Sean had no idea why Grace had such a strange penchant for such things.

"Grace, listen to me. Not just Nick, but me, Marvin, Mr Gob, and everyone else in this house loves you very much. You know that, don't you?" said Sean. Grace seemed to be frowning, and then she glanced at the bookshelf whose books were neatly arranged. Grace did not understand the direction of the conversation from Sean at all.

"Yes, I think you do love me. Even though I'm confused, when did you show your affection for real. As far as I know, both you and Marvin just walked quietly and mysteriously, entering the house and then leaving the house like that. Mysterious. Rarely talk and even seem to avoid. Or, avoiding it is a sign of affection?" guessed Grace. Sean swallowed hard. What Grace said was true. He and Marvin did have a terrible interaction with Grace, and in fact, there was almost no interaction at all. So how can Sean say he loves Grace? It really can't be helped anymore.

"Because we're so awkward when we meet you, Grace. You know, in this Kyle residence, you're the only female housemaid yourself, young and very beautiful. More than that, you're liked by Nicholas, so I don't care at all. I don't know what to do, Marvin and I often think of greeting you first, but every time we intend to do so, we feel awkward. Every time we run into you, we end up deciding to run away. It's not really like that. that, we really and love you."

Grace seemed to be smiling with a look like she didn't believe it at all, but she nodded her head too. How could she not? What could she do other than that? Trying to trust Sean was what he had to do now.

"So I have a sweet plan with Marvin if we want to make a romantic dinner for you and Nicholas. But it looks like it might fail."

"Why?" asked a somewhat curious Grace. How could that romantic dinner fail? Grace had no idea what Sean was thinking.

"Yeah, how could you not fail if you just found out. Did you think it would be a surprise if you found out? Surely this would be an unpleasant thing again, and in the end, my mission with Marvin ended up being in vain. I don't think so. I wish we had made a mission, but the mission was useless. It would hurt us so deeply," complained Sean.

Grace patted Sean's shoulder, who couldn't bear to look at Sean's sad face. She felt very guilty. How could she not? She shouldn't have asked so much earlier. What's with Grace now? Why is she so curious about other people's problems? Grace looked back at Sean then she patted Sean's shoulder.

"Sean, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to ruin your sweet plan. You know you must have planned the surprising matter carefully together with Marvin. Still, I asked presumptuously and with a bit of pressure because I was so curious about what the two of you were talking about. I'm sorry again, I promise you after this, I won't ask too many questions, I will obey every rule you have made. Or even when you and Marvin are around me, I will pretend not to see you. Is that enough to keep you guys from talking about anything that would expose your beautiful mission to me again?"

Sean smiled. Beautiful mission? He didn't even think that killing so many people was such a beautiful mission. Sean took a deep breath, and then he looked at Grace. If only Grace knew that Nicholas, himself, Marvin and Nicholas's men had killed their parents, if only Grace knew that until this moment, everyone in this family was a cold-blooded killer, even colder from the mafia, though. So what will Grace think after this? Does Grace still have the same beliefs? Was Grace still looking at him with the same look and thinking if this place was safe, everyone?

Sean seemed to smile, then he nodded his head, looking at Grace with that warm gaze.

"Next time, when Marvin and I have a small talk, and you ask, we don't answer. It means we're planning a sweet surprise. So your job is just to shut up when we don't answer. Do you understand that?" asked Sean at last. Grace nodded, she smiled broadly at Sean. Both of them now seemed to be breathing perfectly.

Meanwhile, the Gob, who had just come in from taking care of some of the bodies that Nicholas had killed for a few days, looked at Grace and Sean with a faint smile. Since there was Grace, Kyle's residence didn't look as scary as it used to be, the Kyle family's residence seemed to have a life, and slowly it had become a residence that could be occupied by everyone, the same residence as any other residence, without thinking if it was possible that anyone would enter. Kyle's family residence will probably die. That was the scourge for everyone all along, one of the reasons why the Kyle family residence was always quiet, and no one dared to come. Originally due to the terrible news about twelve years ago, when there was one of the neighbours of the Kyle family residence, her name was Margarette, she planned to visit the Kyle family residence because she was a new neighbour. It was customary for new neighbours to give their neighbours food in this place. As the young woman walked, she found a few legs scattered in the back barn that one of the dogs had accidentally carried away, after which Margarette was frightened and spread them all over the place. Complex, until the police finally arrived, the police did not get any evidence, but after that, the Kyle family's residence seemed dead and uninhabited.
