Corinne felt someone reaching for her through a telepathic link but she forced herself to shut anyone off because she didn't want them to see the ugliness of her situation right now. She didn't want anyone to see how weak she was. Even if it meant she would die without anyone knowing anything.
"I'll go and greet our visitors," Elaine said and her scarlet eyes twinkled as her fangs jutted out of her mouth. She looked exactly like the kind that humans feared – a vampire. There was no need to hide her real identity now. In a blink of an eye, Elaine vanished and Corinne was left with the torturer again.
