𝗛𝘂𝗴𝗼 𝗔𝘂𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗿
We enter the giant hole in the middle of the forest and not long after the light of the sun stopped reaching hole, so we had to use our torches to go further in.
After what felt like hours, we finally heard something other than our footsteps
"CwAaLakAAlaK!!?!"
The four denovon screeches at us, our weapon already brandish I unconsciously instructed the other three our plan
"Noelle, you take the front and I'll support you from your blindspots"
"Cynthia, protect the rear using you sabre and try save your rifle ammo"
"Got it"
"And Cain, we'll be protecting meaning you have the best vision in this battle so tell us everything and use your heal how you see fit"
Without even nodding, Noelle rush the enemies and I follow from behind.
Noelle used her shield to push one them to s wall then the other tried slash at her however using my blade with hands did a diagonal upward slash.
The two other denovons tried to attack me but Noelle quickly dash in front of me and shielded me then using her mace, she hits the other one crushing it's torso
'looks like the those exoskeleton of thiers are useless'
While that thought ran through my brain, I stabbed the denovon that Noelle shielded me from.
I looked back at the Cynthia and Cain, it seems 2 denovons appeared on the rear but it seems Cynthia dealt with it using her sabre.
"How's everyone?"
"We're good over here"
"Noelle?"
"I'm alright"
"Then let's go"
Nodding to each other, we continued our descent, after some time though we found ourselves into a giant room with 2 hole.
"Where should we go?"
"The queen is most likely going to be in the bottom where its the safest, since were here to exterminate the nest, lets clear every room of denovons"
Cain calmly explains
"Does anyone have objections about it?"
I asked, everyone shook their head saying that they have no objection about it
"Then let's go"
And so we entered the hole right in front of
us.
We found that it mostly empty with a couple of half eaten bodies and the thirteen denovons who was eating from it so I'm guessing that this is a room for denovons to rest and eat.
Before I could say anything, the thirteen denovons tried to attack us at the same time but using her shield, Noelle charge at them knocking atleast seven of them away from us.
I heard gun shots from Cynthia's rifle, covering Noelle
The other six who was not affected tried to attack me however I was already in a stance where I could do a giant horizontal slash and I did just that.
I managed to kill of three them but it got stuck on the third one so I rolled behind the other three.
Two of the denovon tried to slash at me however the I managed to dodge it then I swiftly charge at the other one and punch it on the face.
Although it only staggered it, I was able to grab my blade and slash the two with a diagonal upward slash using one hand then a downward slash at the other.
I took a small glance at my back to see the other denovon head pierced by Cynthia's bayonet.
Then I immediately went and help the Noelle who's armor had couple shallow slashes from the denovon
"Sorry for the wait"
"It's fine"
A slightly tired smile of relief appeared on her face as she readied her mace and shield, right now only two of them remain because of both Cynthia's support and her effort.
Noelle charged at them with her shield in front of her causing one of them to be crashed into the wall while I slashed at the other denovon who was preparing to attack her and then Noelle bashed the head of the denovon with her mace.
We left that room and went back into the giant room.
Cain put down the torch that she was holding and then he started looking for wounds from Noelle and I.
I told him that I was fine since I did not want him to know that I was human and have half of them look at me maliciously.
After inspecting the both of us, We started eating our food for a well deserved break.
Although I was the only one eating normally while the other three looked like they did not have an appetite
'Looks like those half eaten bodies really affected them'
I was a bit disturbed by it too but I show it in my face sice I didn't really get how you would lose your appetite after a long time of fighting.
Then Noelle started speaking to me while I was normally eating my food
"Say Hugo, I'm surprised that your not disturbed by them eating those bodies, are you used to it?"
Her tone uncertain whether she wanted to know my answer.
While the other two looked at me curiously
"Well...back in my country, demonic creatures was considered the most common monsters that we had to kill since a lot of the population produce negative energy so we all just got use to killing them"
'Well I dont really take on those request since I was only hunting mulcurts and hulcurts and I preferred doing solo request'
"Wait what! is your country okay??"
Genuine shock was shown in their faces
"Yeah, even the bishops spend half their time blessing weapons"
"T-to think that such a church of the elv existed"
"Church of elv?"
"Does your home not believe in the 'Elv, The goddess of nature and wind' also known as The god of elves?"
"Nope, my country is probably the farthest away from the goddess elv"
"I see..."
Cain and Noelle seems a become bit suspicious of me when I said that I came from a country where we don't believe in the church of elv.
After that conversation we finished our food and prepared ourselves to go deeper in the denovin's nest.
